  • A new species, Indigofera grandiflora B. Choi et S. Cho, was described from sourthern Korea. The new species is related to I. kirilowii and I. koreana in the Far East. However, the species differs from these two species in having larger flowers and leaflets and hairiness on leaflets. The new species is also allied to I. decora in southest China and Japan, but clearly distinguished from the latter by its larger flowers, shorter inflorescences, and hairiness on leaflets.

  • A new species of the genus Smenospongia (Dictyoceratida, Thorectidae), S. coreana n. sp., is described from Gageodo Island, Korea. This new species is readily distinguished from the other species of Smenospongia by the un-lobated growth forms and un-crowded primary fibres. S. aurea and S. lamellata are no distinction between primary and secondary elements, but this species is easily distinguished from them. The matrix easily derived from the fibres. This species has five sesterterpenes, three scalaranetypes and two linear furanosesterterpenes, in chemical compounds.

  • Seven new species in two genera, Sarcotragus and Bergquistia (Demospongiae: Dictyoceratida: Irciniidae), are described from Jeju Island, Korea. The separation of the two genera was made on basis of morphological evidence in skeletal structure, especially fasciculation of primary fibres and filament thickness. Two new species in the genus Sarcotragus and five new species in the genus Bergquistia are compared with other reported species.

  • A taxonomic study of the family Electridae Stach, 1937 (Bryozoa: Cheilostomatida) was carried out using materials collected from six localities of Korea from 1984 to 2021. Aspidelectra melolontha (Landsborough, 1852) is newly added to the bryozoan fauna of Korea, and Electra jindoica n. sp. is new to science. European A. melolontha is known to occur in brackish water of low salinity, but the species is found in New Zealand and Argentina seawater. This species is also reported as a fouling bryozoan from China and New Zealand. Electra jindoica n. sp. is distinguished by smaller zooid, larger kenozooid, and developed cryptocyst from E. asiatica Grischenko, Dick and Mawatari, 2007. With the addition of two species reported herein, six species and four genera of Electridae from Korea have been recorded: Aspidelectra melolontha, Arbopercula tenella, Conopeum hexagonum, C. reticulum, C. seurati, and Electra jindoica n. sp. Furthermore, the genera Aspidelectra and Electra are new to the Korean bryozoan fauna based on this study.

  • Ten new species of two families (Suberitidae and Polymastidae) are described from Korea. Six new species in Suberitidae: Plicatellopsis ramosa n. sp., Pseudosuberites anheungensis n. sp. P. youngilensis n. sp., Suberites hwasunensis n. sp., S. chujaensis n. sp. and S. rugosa n. sp. are compared with other similar reported species. All new species differ from previously reported species in morphology, texture, color, skeletal structure, and spicule type. Four new species in Polymastidae: Polymastia fistula n. sp., P. sasuensis n. sp., P. viridis n. sp., and Weberella haengwonensis n. sp. are different from previously reported species in the growth form of papillaes and fistules, color and spicule types. For example, Weberella haengwonensis is similar to Weberella verrucosa in shape, but differs based on surface papillaes and spicule sizes.

  • A new species of the genus Biemna(Demospongiae: Poecilosclerida: Desmacellidae), Biemna hongdoensis n. sp. was collected from Hongdo Island, Korea by SCUBA diving in 2004. B. hongdoensis n. sp. is closely related to B. megalosigma Hentshel, 1912 in their spicules, but the styles and sigmas of new species are larger than B. megalosigma's and microxeas and raphides of new species are smaller than B. megalosigma's. Also, new species has not spheres. The stubby conulose are distributed throughout the surface of new species.

  • Eleven new species of two genera, Psammocinia and Ircinia (Demospongiae: Dictyoceratida: Irciniidae) are described from Gageo Island, Ulleung Island and Jeju Island, South Korea. The separation of these two genera was made on basis of morphological evidence, especially skeletal structure with foreign debris. Six new species of Psammocinia and five new species of Ircinia were added to known fauna. All skeletal fibres are very irregular.
