고차원 혼합주기 시계열모형의 해운경기변동 예측력 검정 (The forecasting evaluation of the high-order mixed frequency time series model to the marine industry)

  • 본 연구는 혼합주기모형을 해운경기 예측에 활용하기 위해 기존의 비선형 장기균형관계분석에서 통계적으로 유의한 요인들을 단기모형에 적용하였다. 가장 일반적인 단일변수(univariate) AR(1) 모형과 혼합주기모형으로부터 각각 표본외 예측을 실시하여 예측오차와 비교한 결과 혼합주기모형의 예측력이 AR(1) 모형보다 향상됨을 확인하였다. 이러한 실증분석은 새로운 고차원 혼합주기모형이 해운경기변동 예측에 유용한 모형임을 의미하며, 즉, 최근 다변수 시계열 자료가 주로 장기균형관계(long-run equilibrium)를 대상으로 하고 있는데, 고차주기와 같은 정보를 분석에 포함할 경우 단기 해운경기 분석모형의 예측력이 향상될 수 있음을 의미하는 분석결과이다.

3D printing of multiple container models and their trajectory tests in calm water

  • More and more shipping containers are falling into the sea due to bad weather. Containers lost at sea negatively affect the shipping line, the trader and the consumer, and the environment. The question of locating and recovering dropped containers is a challenging engineering problem. Model-testing of small-scaled container models is proposed as an efficient way to investigate their falling trajectories to salvage them. In this study, we first build a standard 20-ft container model in SOLIDWORKS. Then, a three-dimensional (3D) geometric model in the STL (Standard Tessellation Language) format is exported to a Stratasys F170 Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) printer. In total, six models were made of acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (ASA) and printed for the purpose of testing. They represent three different loading conditions with different densities and center of gravity (COG). Two samples for each condition were tested. The physical models were dropped into the towing tank of University of New Orleans (UNO). From the experimental tests, it is found that the impact of the initial position after sinking can cause a certain initial rolling velocity, which may have a great impact on the lateral displacement, and subsequently affect the final landing position. This series of model tests not only provide experimental data for the study of the trajectory of box-shape objects but also provide a valuable reference for maritime salvage operations and for the pipeline layout design.

  • Recently, Korean shipbuilding industry is keeping up the position of world wide No. 1 in world shipbuilding market share. It is caused by endless efforts to develope new technologies and methods and fast development of IT technologies in Korea, to raise up its productivities and efficiency in shipbuilding industry with many kinds of optimizing methods including genetic algorithm or artificial life algorithm... etc. In this paper, we have suggested the artificial life algorithm with relay search micro genetic algorithm. and we have improved a defect of simple genetic algorithm for its slow convergence speed and added a variety of solution candidates with applying relay search simple genetic algorithm. Finally, we have developed intelligent agent system for ship CAE modeling. We have tried to offer some conveniences a ship engineer for repeated ship CAE modeling by changing ship design repeatedly and to increase its accuracy of a ship model with it.

Effects on bycatch reduction in a shaking cod end generated by canvas in a shrimp beam trawl

  • An active stimulating device, such as a fluttering net or canvas attached to the end of a cod end generating a shaking motion, could help to encourage the escape of juvenile fish positioned passively near the net. Field fishing trials using a shrimp beam trawl were carried out to examine the effect on the reduction of juvenile fish or other discard catch by generating a shaking movement of the cod end using an unbiased cap-like round canvas. The mean period of the shaking motion with the round canvas was ~14 s, and the mean amplitude was 0.4 m as measured by peak event analysis and the global wavelet method. The bycatch of juvenile fish in 14 trials decreased by ~30% and by ~25% using a steady cod end for the total bycatch using a shaking cod end in the shrimp beam trawl, while the marketing catch was similar between steady and shaking cod ends. There was no difference in the body size of the shrimp or fish and species composition between the steady and shaking cod ends. Above results demonstrate a new method for bycatch reduction using an active stimulating device, although more detailed studies are needed.

복합재료 고전적층판 이론을 이용한 MW급 해상풍력 블레이드 구조설계 (Structural Design of Multi-Megawatt Wind Turbine Blade by Classical Lamination Theory)

  • This research presents a method for the initial structural design of a multi-megawatt wind turbine blade. The structural data for a 2-MW blade were applied as the blade structural characteristic data of the reference blade. Tenkinds of blade models were newly designed by replacing the spar cap axial GRRP with a GFRP and CFRP These terms should be defined. at different orientations. The axial stiffness coefficients of the newly designed models were made equal to the coefficient of the reference blade. The required numbers of layers in each section of blades were calculated, and the lay-up designs were based on these numbers. Verification results showed that the design method that used the structural data of the reference blade was appropriate for the initial structural design of a wind turbine blade.

Effects of the lunar cycle in the catch composition and total catch of stationary lift nets in the coastal waters of Miagao, Iloilo, the Philippines

  • The catch composition of commercially important species of the stationary lift net at Barangay Gines, Miagao, Iloilo, the Philippines was investigated from December 2013 to May 2014 during the different phases of the moon. A total of 486 kg of fish coming from 12 different genera, including mollusk and crustaceans, was caught and identified from the catch of the stationary lift net. Among the 12 genera identified from the catch of stationary lift net, anchovy (Stolephorus), sardines (Sardinella), squid (Loligo) and mysid shrimp (Acetes) were considered to be commercially important due to their value. Acetes catch was highest during the new moon in the month of January. Loligo catch was also high during the new moon except in the month of May. Stolephorus catch was also highest during the new moon except in the month of January. Sardinella catch was highest during the first quarter in the month of February. Full moon had the lowest catch all throughout the duration of the study while new moon had the highest catch during December 2013 to March 2014 and first quarter was the highest in the months of April and May.

시판 식해의 관능적 특성 (Sensory Characteristics of Commercial Sik-haes)

  • Sik-hae is a traditional and well-liked salt-fermented seafood with a low salt concentration in Korea. However, it is challenging to find data on market degradation. This study was conducted to investigate sensual characteristics, such as taste, odor and color, of 10 types of commercial Sik-haes [flounder (5 type), Alaska pollock (2 type), black edged sculpin, anchovy, and sandfish] as basic data for developing new products. The salinities of the commercial Sik-haes were significantly difference in the range of 3.0-6.7%. The pH and total acidity of 10 types of commercial Sik-haes were 4.45-5.24 and 0.84-1.46 g/100 g, respectively. The amino acid nitrogen and free amino acid contents, and total taste value were 72.0-333.0 mg/100 g, 425.6-1,726.4 mg/100 g and 17.0-115.9, respectively. According to the taste value, the major taste-related amino acids were aspartic acid and glutamic acid. Volatile basic nitrogen content and Hunter redness value of commercial Sik-haes were 24.5-80.9 mg/100 g and 10.9-28.5, respectively. However, food-grade additives, such as citric acid and monosodium, are occasionally used in commercial Sik-haes to achieve a lower pH or enhance flavor and aroma.

  • 이 연구의 목적은 글로벌 해운항만물류에 있어 창조형 서비스산업으로서 금융특화와 금융지원을 통한 해양금융의 허브화와 해양물류 클러스터를 구축하여 국제경쟁력강화를 통한 국가경제발전에 이바지함에 있다. 효과적인 목적달성을 위해 이 연구는 통합적 접근법을 채택하여 효율적인 정책이행에 적용하였으며, 정책수행의 도구로서 창조형 해양금융발전 단계를 수립하여 정책이행시기의 가이드라인을 다음과 같이 제시하였다. 제1단계(조성과 성장정책): 2013~2016(창조형 해양금융산업집적지구축), 제2단계(육성/활성화정책): 2017~2019(창조형 해양금융산업클러스터구축), 제3단계(지속적 발전정책): 2020년 이후 장기과제(창조형 해양금융혁신클러스터구축). 세계해양금융의 경쟁력 열위에 있는 우리나라는 해양금융의 유동성확보를 위한 전략적 접근이 절실한 바, 근래 글로벌 금융위기 이후 실물거래를 수반하는 금융 거래의 새로운 대안으로 이슬람금융이 급부상하고 있다. 아울러 본 연구에서는 해양금융의 실무상 우리나라의 잠재형 슬랙을 창출하기 위해 이슬람금융권과의 컨소시엄의 구성을 초기단계에서의 보다 용이한 정책이행의 단초로 제안하고 있다.

시판 간고등어의 식품학적 품질 특성 (Food Quality Characterizations of Commercial Salted Mackerel)

  • This study was conducted to obtain basic data for developing a special salted mackerel. For this purpose, food quality characterization data on 11 kinds of salted commercial mackerels were gathered. Korean Industrial Standards (KSH 6029) stipulate that a salted mackerel should be less than $1.0{\times}10^6\;CFU/g$ in viable cells, negative for Escherichia coli, less than 50 mg% for volatile basic nitrogen (VBN) and less than 3% for salinity. Only one sample (code 10) among the 11 kinds of commercial salted mackerels is believed to posses acceptable limits according to KSH 6029. The others except code 2 and 4 showed less than 50 mg/kg in histamine content, a safe range for allergies. The peroxide values of 4, 5, 7, 10 and 11 in sample code were lower than 22 meq/kg, which were low compared to the other salted mackerels. The major fatty acids of all salted mackerels were 16:0 (13.2-22.1%), 18:1n-9 (11.7-23.1%), and 22:6n-3 (13.5-20.4%). The Hunter color values ranged from 31.1 to 51.0 (average 37.9) for lightness, from 0.6 to 8.1 (average 3.3) for redness, from -2.9 to 9.3 (average 5.8) for yellowness, and from 46.8 to 65.8 (average 59.5) for color difference. From these results, it was concluded that the code 10 is superior than the other salted mackerels. Thus, a new salted mackerel product should be superior or similar to the food quality characteristics of this sample.

선박관리산업발전법안의 분석과 개선방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Draft Ship Management Industry Act and its Improvement)

  • 우리나라는 선박관리산업의 중요성을 인식한 해운업계 및 학술단체의 전문가들에 의해 지속적으로 노력한 결과 최근 국회의원의 발의에 의하여 "선박관리산업발전법안"이 제안되었다. 이러한 성과는 우리나라의 선박관리산업이 선진국 대열에 진입하게 되는 결정적인 계기가 된다고 생각한다. 이 연구는 최근 발의된 우리나라 "선박관리산업발전법안"을 각 조문별로 소개하고, 조문별 분석을 통해 법적인 문제점과 실효성을 검토하여 개선방안을 제시함으로써 향후 우리나라 선박관리산업의 발전을 위한 법과 제도의 발전에 기여하는 것을 궁극적인 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 우리나라 "선박관리산업발전법안"의 구성, 목적, 용어의 정의, 다른 법률과의 관계 등을 중심으로 개념을 소개하고, 이 법률안의 핵심이라고 할 수 있는 선박관리산업의 육성 및 지원, 그리고 선박관리우수사업자의 인증을 중심으로 구체적 실효성을 분석하였다.
