  • A new approach to the use of potassium peroxodisulphate as an oxidizing reagent is proposed and applied to the case of oxidative aromatization of 1, 4-dihydropyridines with cetyltrimethylammonium peroxodisulfate, a phase transfer oxidant. We demonstrate how it is possible to increase the reactivity of potassium peroxodisulphate in the presence of phase transfer catalyst. Dealkylation in case of 4-n-alkyl/n-alkenyl was not obtained.

  • Many attempts have been made to find genetic abnormalities inducing carcinogenesis after the development of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-tyrosine kinase inhibitor targeting EGFR in lung cancer. New target therapies have been already commercialized and studied along with the recent discovery of gene rearrangement involved in the carcinogenic process of non-small cell lung cancer. This study aims to investigate anplastic lymphoma kinase, c-ros oncogene 1, and receptor tyrosine kinase, in particular.

  • One of the major discoveries in extragalactic astrophysics made over the past few years is the detection of ultra-diffuse galaxies, a new type of galaxies which appear to be far more numerous than normal galaxies, and which are giants in terms of size, yet dwarfs in terms of luminosity. These galaxies point to the huge discovery potential of the last niche that remains to be explored in observational parameter space: the sky at extremelylow surface brightness. Implications for objects in the Solar System, stellar physics, the interstellar medium, galaxies and cosmology will be addressed, along with the major challenges for pushing the frontiers in ground- and space-based observations.

  • In this paper, we explore a new data mining capability that is based on Quantitative Attribute and Time Series. Our solution procedure consists of two steps. First, We derive an algorithm to contain the Quantitative Attribute into a set of candidate item. Second, We redefine the concepts of confidence and support for composite association rules. It is shown that proposed methode is very advantageous and can lead to prominent performance improvement.

  • Arrangement of individual atoms and molecules with atomic precision and understanding the resulting properties at the molecular level are ultimate goals of chemistry, biology, and materials science. For the past three decades, scanning probe microscopy has made strides towards these goals through the direct observation of individual atoms and molecules, enabling the discovery of new and unexpected phenomena. This talk will discuss the origin of forces governing motion of small organic molecules and their extended self-assembly into two-dimensional surface structures by direct observation of individual molecules using scanning tunneling microscopy (STM).

  • In a previous study on the parasites of cultured rock bream (Oplegnathus fasciatus), we reported the discovery of a new species, Ceratomyxa oplegnathus, obtained from the gallbladder. In the present study, we found another Ceratomyxa species, C. sparusaurati, also from the gallbladder of rock bream. The morphological and ultrastructural characteristics of C. sparusaurati were investigated using light and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).

  • We developed a panel of innovative solution-based approaches for synthesis of multicomponent sulfide phosphor materials. The application of these synthesis strategies allowed for preparation of high-purity and high-brightness $BaAl_2S_4:Eu$ and $Ba_2SiS_4:Eu$ phosphors and led to the discovery of new phosphors suitable for application in the LED-based lighting including $Sr_2ZnS_3:Eu$, $CaBaSiS_4:Eu$ and $(Ba,Sr)_2ZnS_3:Eu$.
