  • Over the years, several different approaches have been proposed to enhance the practice of software reuse. These approaches vary in reuse abstraction levels or application domains they focus on. However, it seems that they do not adequately meet the needs of software designers in planning and managing reuse. One reason may be the lack of conceptually well-established framework supporting work domain analysis and modeling. As a new viable solution to this problem, Sutcliffe and his colleagues developed Domain Theory , which is introduced in this paper. Utilizing multidisciplinary perspective, such as cognitive psychology, management science, human-computer interaction, and software engineering. it provides a schematic framework that defines a comprehensive library of generic and reusable models of domain knowledge in terms of generic tasks and meta-domains. It also provides useful methods and guidelines for software reuse, emphasizing the concept of abstraction process in a designer s mind. This paper firstly gives a brief overview of fundamentals of software reuse. Next, it explains the foundation of domain theory and discusses its applicability to software reuse. In particular, the taxonomy of meta-domains and the types of generic tasks are described in more detail. Finally, the future research framework, which primarily addresses the problem of how to apply the domain theory to various work domains, is proposed.

  • Students' journals in science class are supposed to contribute to students' science teaming and to provide plentiful information on students' learning and progress. If interaction could be reinforced in the process of writing journals, the positive effects of the journals are expected to be increased. New approaches in teaching should be supported by school and community. Otherwise, teachers are frequently frustrated and failed to introduce new ways of instruction into science classes. The purposes of the study are to develop interactive journals, and approaches to introduce interactive journals at school level. The status and situation of the school were investigated by survey. Interactive journals were developed by teachers who experienced workshops on developing journals. A model journal was provided as a guidance to teachers. To establish environments for introducing journals in the school, an invited lecture was provided to increase parents' perceptions on journals. A communication system among students, parents, and teachers was established, and educational materials, such as encyclopedia, books, computers, and so on were prepared. For efficient administration of journals, various prizes and events were established. • Purpose - There are numerous theories for retail trade area analysis which are designed to select candidate locations for new stores. In this study, comparative analysis on the characteristics from those of the theories are shown, and the explanation for the power in consumers' store-choice behaviors and their limitations are examined. Also, plans for improving commercial sphere analysis are explored. Research design, data, and methodology - This study is based on literature reviews with normative research methodology. Among many researches regarding the analysis on the location and commercial sphere for launching a new store, researches relying on statistics are excluded in this study since they belong to the marketing research area,. Results - In the Law of retail gravitation, Huff's model multinomial logit model and etc. are mutual complementary mathematical techniques for analyzing commercial spheres and each of them has its own characteristics. These theories rely on the same hypothesis in which consumers are all believed to be behaving rationally under a similar behavioral system. However, the trial in explaining or estimating behavior of choosing a store with only a select size of the population that is objectively estimated by some major properties has limits in its credibility. Conclusion - Research on consumer's spatial behaviors can be fully illustrative and explainable when it has both quantitative approaches such as 'law of retail gravitation', 'logit model' and etc., and qualitative approaches like consumer's 'cognitive structure', 'learning status', 'image formation', 'attitude' and etc.

  • Inflammation is an immune response of the human body but excessive inflammation is taken as a major factor in the development of many diseases including autoimmune disorders, cancer and nerve disorders etc. In this regards the need is to suppress the inflammatory response. Suppression of extra or imperfect inflammatory response is not a big deal provided there is an exact knowledge of particular target in the body. Recent advancements in Pharmacological aspect made the therapy with improved outcomes in number of patients. Anticytokine therapy might be one of the important and novel approaches for inflammation and Arthritis. This can be achieved only when we go through the pathophysiology of expression and identification of mediators. Let's take an example of cytokine like interleukins (IL), chemokines, interferons (INF), tumor necrosis factors (TNF-α), growth factors, and colony stimulating factors) release pathway which is a major signalling protein in inflammatory response. In the present study we have reviewed the recent pharmacological therapeutic advancement, inflammatory mediators, receptors, and major signalling pathways. Such information will not only provide the idea about the mechanism of action of Pharmaceuticals and molecular targets but also it provides a new aspect for drug designing and new corrective approaches in existing clinical medicines. This study will be a source of good information for the researchers working in the area of drug designing and molecular Pharmacology especially in anti-inflammatory and anti arthritic medicines for target based therapy.

  • Chattering phenomenon is still a large drawback of VSS. To overcome this problem, various approaches have been reported. A new notion of sliding sector has been proposed recently. Inside this sector, a kind of norm of the state decreases without control input. Therefore, so long as the state is constrained inside this sector, the norm of the state approaches to zero. The sliding sector theory is elementary study step and is studied about only linear systems. In this paper, new methods of the tracking control of unstable nonlinear systems using the sliding sector is proposed. This paper analyzes the stability, using Lyapunov function on the sliding sector. Through the computer simulations for an inverted pendulum system, it is verified that sliding sector control is capable to reduce the chattering.

  • The principles on which the Internet was designed and has evolved were first laid out in an explicit way 20 years age. The basic principle is that in layered communications network such as the Internet, functions should always be implemented at the end systems whenever the option exists. This applies to all functions that can be implemented either in the network or at the end systems. End-to-end arguments have recently been reexamined as the Internet and its uses have evolved, and a new set of requirements has begun to emerge. In addition to these, it add a new, and perhaps more important, requirement to this list in the case of heterogeneous networks: the proliferation of unpredictable wireless networks. Wireless networks must cope with dynamic link conditions not present in wired infrastructures, which place a heavy burden on quality of service management solutions. Managing QoS in the face of constantly changing operating conditions demands dynamic management approaches that span multiple layers in the protocol stack. Such as cross-layer design approaches have recently received attention in the context of cellular and mobile special networks. This article introduce the notion of network predictability and describe its relationship to achievable QoS. This relationship is used to propose a framework for cross layer design that can be used to guide development efforts and direct investment decisions for future networks.

  • Mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS) is caused by accumulation of the glycosaminoglycans in all tissues due to decreased activity of the lysosomal enzyme. Patients exhibit multisystemic signs and symptoms in a chronic and progressive manner, especially with changes in the skeleton, cardiopulmonary system, central nervous system, cornea, skin, liver, and spleen. In the past, treatment of MPS was limited to enzyme replacement therapy (ERT). The outcome for affected patients improved with the introduction of new technologies as hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, relegated to specific situations after ERT became available. Intrathecal ERT may be considered in situations of high neurosurgical risk but still it is experimental in humans. New insights on the pathophysiology of MPS disorders are leading to alternative therapeutic approaches, as gene therapy, inflammatory response modulators and substrate reduction therapy. In this paper, we will highlight the recent novel treatment and clinical trials for MPS and discuss with the goal of fostering an understanding of this field.

  • Variation Analysis (VA) is used to simulate final product variation, taking into consideration part manufacturing and assembly variations. In VA, all the manufacturing and assembly processes are defined at the product design stage. Process Capability Data Bases (PCDB) provide information about measured variation from previous products and processes and allow the designer to apply this to the new product. A new challenge to this traditional approach is posed by the Industry 4.0 (I4.0) revolution, where Smart Manufacturing (SM) is applied. The manufacturing intelligence and adaptability characteristics of SM make present PCDBs obsolete. Current tolerance analysis methods, which are made for discrete assembly products, are also challenged. This paper discusses the differences expected in future factories relevant to VA, and the approaches required to meet this challenge. Current processes are mapped using I4.0 philosophy and gaps are analysed for potential approaches for tolerance analysis tools. Matching points of simulation capability and I4.0 intents are identified as opportunities. Applying conditional variations, incorporating levels of adjustability, and the un-suitability of present Monte Carlo simulation due to changed mass production characteristics, are considered as major challenges. Opportunities including predicting residual stresses in the final product and linking them to product deterioration, calculating non-dimensional performances and extending simulations for process manufactured products, such as drugs, food products etc. are additional winning aspects for next generation VA tools.

  • Aluminium outfitting is widely used in offshore platforms owing to its anti-corrosion ability and its light weight. However, various standards exist (ISO, NORSOK and EN) for the design of handrails used in offshore platforms, and different suppliers have different criteria. This causes great confusion for designers. Moreover, the design load required by the standards is not clearly defined or is uncertain. Thus, many offshore projects reference previous project details or are conservatively designed without additional clarification. In this study, all of the codes and standards were reviewed and analysed through prior studies, and data on variable factors that directly and indirectly affect the handrails applied to offshore platforms were analysed. A total of 50 handrail design load scenarios were proposed through deterministic and probabilistic approaches. To verify the proposed new handrail design load selection scenario, structural analysis was performed using SACS (offshore structural analysis software). This new proposal through deterministic and probabilistic approaches is expected to improve safety by clarifying the purpose of the handrails. Furthermore, the acceptance criteria for probabilistic scenarios for handrails suggest considering the frequency of handrail use and the design life of offshore platforms to prevent excessive design. This study is expected to prevent trial and error in handrail design while maintaining overall worker safety by applying a loading scenario suitable for the project environment to enable optimal handrail design.
