In mammals. axotomy of peripheral nerve leads to a complex. These events include swelling of cell body, disappearance of Nissl substance. Proximal and distal axon undergoes a variable deriable degree of traumatic degeneration and wallerian degeneration, respectively. Nerve injury may result in cell death or regeneration. Molecular changes include proliferation of Schwann cells, upregulation of neurotropism, neural cell adhesion molecules and cytokine. Also growth cone plays an essential role in axon guidance through interaction of cytoskeleton. We review cellular and molecular events after nerve injury and describe nerve regeneration and associated proteins.

Enterovirus감염 돼지의 감염초기 virus의 동태를 규명하고자 초유를 섭취하지 않는 1~2일령의 돼지에 돼지 enterovirus 3형을 경구감염시킨후 간조직을 전자현미경으로 관찰하였던 바 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 감염후 3일째 부검한 돼지의 간에서 간세포의 심한 공포변성이 인정되었고 간 동양혈관 내피세포 및 Kupffer세포에서 picornavirus의 특징적인 virus결정이 출현하였으며 확장된 ER은 virus 결정과 밀접하게 관련되어 있었다. 또한 동양혈관 세포와 간세포에서는 미숙한 virus모양의 입자들로 구성된 세포질내 봉입체가 관찰되기도 하였다. 이상의 소견으로 보아 돼지 enterovirus 3형은 신경친화성 뿐만 아니라 감염초기 간에 친화성이 큰 것으로 생각된다.

The ability of neurotropic alpha herpesviruses to replicate within synaptically linked neurons has made these pathogens valuable tools for transneuronal analysis. Recent studies suggest that unique gene products expressed by genetically engineered strains of virus may permit the use of multiple strains in complex tracing paradigms. In the present study we have examined the invasiveness of two genetically engineered strains of the swine pathogen known as pseudorabies virus(PRV). The two strains were isogenic with the attenuated Bartha strain of PRV; in one strain a lacZ reporter gene was inserted into the gC locus (PRV-BaBlu; $4.75\times10^8pfu/ml$) contrained a PRV envelope glycoprotein gene that was absent in PRV-BaBlu. Simultaneous or temporally separated sequential injection of $4\mu\ell$ of each strain into the ventral wall of the stomach produced a predictale course of retrograde synaptic infection. The results were as follows: 1. PRV-BaBlu and PRV-D infected the dorsal motor nucleus of vagus nerve(DMV) and paraventricular nucleus(PVN). 2. Invasion and replication of PRV-D occured at a faster rate than the parental strain or PRV-BaBlu. 3. PRV-D was much more virulent than PRV-BaBlu or the parental strain. 4. Co-injection of PRV-D and PRV-BaBlu produced an infection that was more virulent than that produced by the parental strain (PRV-Bartha), 5. Neurons in DMV were permissive to co-infection with PRV-D and PRV-BaBlu when they were injected simultaneously into the same site. 6. Replication of PRV-BaBlu was compromised by prior infection of the same circuit with PRV-D. 7. Prior infection of neurons with PRV-D maked them resistant to infection with PRV-BaBlu.

To localize the connection between intergeniculate nucleus and suprachisasmatic nucleus through geniculohypothalamic tract in postnatal mongolian gerbil, we injected lacZ inserted PRV-Bartha strain into suprachiasrnatic nucleus and tried to immunostain against it with Rb134 and mouse $anti-{\beta}-galactosidase$. The numbers of immunoreactive neurons in intergeniculate leaflet were $8{\pm}3.2$ in P1 Period, $10{\pm}4.1$ in P3 Period and $13{\pm}6.2$ in P7 Period, and was statistically significant (p<0.05) and had tendency to increase with time consuming. The results showed that intergeniculate leaflet had projected some axons into suprachiasrnatic nucleus through geniculohyptothalamic tract in postnatal mongolian gerbil. But we could not exclude the possibility of direct projections from dorsal and ventral geniculate nuclei into suprachisamatic nucleus completely.

Background: We defined melanoma distribution in a large series of Turkish patients and evaluated the prognostic parameters of melanomas. Materials and Methods: A total of 1574 patients' data was retrospectively collected at 18 centers in Turkey. Demographic characteristics were questioned and noted. Prognostic parametres were evaluated based on sentinel lymph node involvement. Results: Mean age was 56.7 (4-99) years. While 844 (53.6%) cases were male, 730 (46.4%) cases were female. One thousand four hundred forty-seven (92%) cases were invasive melanoma and 127 (8%) cases were in-situ melanoma. The most common histopathological form was the superficial spreading melanoma (SSM) which was found in 549 patients (37.9%). It was followed by nodular melanoma in 379 (26.2%), acral lentiginous melanoma (ALM) in 191 (13.2%) and lentigo maligna melanoma in 132 (9.1%), respectively. On univariate analysis, lymphovascular invasion (p<0.001), tumor thickness (p<0.001), histopathological subtype (p<0.001), Clark level (p=0.001), ulceration (p<0.001), ${\geq}6/mm^2$ mitosis (p=0.005), satellite formation (p=0.001) and gender (p=0.03) were found to be associated with sentinel lymph node positivity. Regression was associated with sentinel lymph node negativity (p=0.017). According to multivariate analysis, lymphovascular invasion and tumor thickness were significant independent predictive factors of SLN positivity. Patient age, tumor localization, precursor lesions, lymphocytic infiltration and neurotropism were not related with sentinel lymph node involvement. Conclusions: In this retrospective analysis, it was found that the prevalence of SSM is at a lower rate while the prevalence of ALM is at a higher rate when compared to western countries. According to Breslow index; most of the melanoma lesions' thickness were greater than 2 mm, corresponding Clark IV. Vascular invasion and tumor thickness are the most important factors for sentinel lymph node involvement.

본 논고는 근대한국 문학의 전위인 이상(李箱)의 시작품에 구사되는 프랑스어와 탈 지방성에 대한 연구이다. 이상의 시편들 속에 쓰인 기호와 외래어는 한글로는 표현이 어려운 물리학, 건축학, 수학, 기하학, 이국의 문명과 같은 초감각적인 이미지들을 그려내고, 의미생성과 확장을 불러오는 파생의 시어로 작용한다. 이상의 시작품에서 프랑스어는 알파벳 철자와 한글식의 표기로 나누어지고, 문장들은 고딕 적이며, 병렬적인 이미지를 보여준다. 프랑스어 단어들은 "${\Box}$, ${\triangle}$, ${\nabla}$" 등의 기호들과 조화를 이루어 상형적인 이미지로 기술된다. 문법의 규범을 이탈한 문장들은 해체와 재조합을 불러오고, 이때 프랑스어는 한글을 대체하고, 모국어가 갖는 한계를 초극하여 이국의 과학문명과 사상, 예술을 차용하는 포스트모던의 시어로 활용된다. 나아가 "ESQUISSE" 등의 프랑스어는 시인 자신의 열등의식을 초월하고, 자유와 상상력, 현대의 예술정신을 구현하기 위한 전위적인 시어로써, "향토"(鄕土)의 조선 문단에 세계의 신경향을 이식하여 성숙시켜 놓은 탈 지방의 시어로 나타난다.
