  • This paper deals with the network interface of research and observation instruments in the oceanographic research vessel with an establishment of related database for measured information. The system is implemented to integrated communication network system which allows to effective survey by using real time observation and GUI(Graphic User Interface). The system also consists of the LAN systems and serial interface to link chemical, physical, biological and environmental relations. And, other network service and vessel data service for data communication between vessel and earth station such as INMARSAT-B, WWW service, BBS, E-Mail etc. are needed for integrated communication network system.

  • In this paper, it is shown the in-vehicle network architecture and implementation for multimedia service which supports Human machine interface of multi-passengers. For multi-passengers' vehicle, it has to be considered the factor of network traffic, simultaneously data transferring to multi users and accessibility to use variety of media contents for passengers compared to conventional in-vehicle network architecture system Therefore, it is proposed the change of network architecture compared with general MOST network, implementation of designed software module which can be interoperable between ethernet and MOST network and accessible interface that passenger can be plugged into MOST network platform using their device based on ethernet network system.

  • Network human-robot interface is an important research topic. In home application, users access the robotic system directly via voice, gestures or through the network. Users explore a system by using the services provided by this system and to some extend users are enable to participate in a service as partners. A service may be provided by a robot, a group of robots or robots and other network connected systems (distributed sensors, information systems, etc). All these services are done in the network environment, where uncertainty such as the unstable network connection, the availability of the partners in a service, exists. Moreover, these services are controlled by several users, accessing at different time by different methods. Our research aimed at solving this problem to provide a high available level, flexible coordination system. In this paper, a multi-agent framework is proposed. This framework is validated by using our new concept of slave agents, a responsive multi-agent environment, a virtual directory facilitator (VDF), and a task allocation system using contract net protocol. Our system uses a mixed model between distributed and centralized model. It uses a centralized agent management system (AMS) to control the overall system. However, the partners and users may be distributed agents connected to the center through agent communication or centralized at the AMS container using the slave agents to represent the physical agents. The system is able to determine the task allocation for a group of robot working as a team to provide a service. A number of experiments have been conducted successfully in our lab environment using Issac robot, a PDA for user agent and a wireless network system, operated under our multi agent framework control. The experiments show that this framework works well and provides some advantages to existing systems.

  • The emotional interface is essential technology for the robot to provide the proper service to the user. In this research, we developed emotional components for the service robot such as a neural network based facial expression recognizer, emotion expression technologies based on 3D graphical face expression and joints movements, considering a user's reaction, behavior selection technology for emotion expression. We used our humanoid robots, AMI and AMIET as the test-beds of our emotional interface. We researched on the emotional interaction between a service robot and a user by integrating the developed technologies. Emotional interface technology for the service robot, enhance the performance of friendly interaction to the service robot, to increase the diversity of the service and the value-added of the robot for human. and it elevates the market growth and also contribute to the popularization of the robot. The emotional interface technology can enhance the performance of friendly interaction of the service robot.   • A lot of valuable-piece of information are acquisited through ubiquitous sensor network(USN) system composed of man-made sensors. The telemetry system used for communicating to access informations between nature and human-beings monitors and estimates the status of infrastructure, utilities and natural environments to prevent hidden disasters, improving quality of life and productivity in multi-directional views. That would be the reason of USN subsistence. This paper will be a review on how to build long-term USN system. Therefore, this paper focuses on reviewing the sensor interface and the sensor network interface and its significance as the foundation stone for varying USN service profiles and showing its development example, and finally proposing a few of things to set up future-oriented USN open system.

  • The recent trend of the hacking deals with all the IT infrastructure related to the profit of the companies. Presently, they attack the service itself, the source of the profit, while they tried to access to the service infrastructure through the non-service port in the past. Although they affect the service directly, it is difficult to block them with the old security solution or the old system and they threaten more and more companies with the demand of money menacing the protection of customers and the sustainable management. This paper aims to design and implement multi-platform network packet scanner targeting the exception handling network intrusion detection system which determines normal, abnormal by traffic. Linux and unix have the various network intrusion detection and packet management tools like ngrep, snort, TCPdump, but most of them are based on CUI (Character based User Interface) giving users discomfort who are not used to it. The proposed system is implemented based on GUI(Graphical User Interface) to support the intuitive and easy-to-use interface to users, and using Qt(c++) language that supports multi-platform to run on any operating system.

Performance analysis of PC communication networks with two-phase service connection (이단 서비스 접속의 PC 통신망의 성능분석)

  • In this paper, we analyze the blocking probability of a call in a PC communication network. In a PC communication network, a call generated from the PSTN (public switched telephone network) requests the connection to the ICPS(information communication processing system) which interconnects the the PSTN and the PSDN(packet switched data network). Then, as a second step, a packet call is requested to the specific service database attached in the PSDN. The call blocking probabilies are analyzed for these two interface points, the PSTN interface ports of the ICPS and the PSDN interface link of the database. We also present some numerical results to show the effects of the system parameters on the performance of the network. The results show the effects of the capacity of each interface point on the performance point.

  • This paper describes the design and implementation of architecture for convergence of home network services and data broadcasting services based on UMB and ACAP middleware; the one is used for interoperability of home networked devices, and the other for data broadcasting services. The proposed architecture provides TV-centric user interface capable of managing home network services and data broadcasting services together using a remote controller and TV sets TV applying Java TV Xlet interface and HAVi user interface for home network services like data broadcasting services. Besides, we define the service proxy for accessing home network services in a set-top box and the service broker for providing data related to home network services in a home server. Finally, the application manager in ACAP middleware manages the lifecycle of home network services through service events from the service proxy to the application manager.

  • In this paper, we designed an inter-operation architecture of 10G G-PON(Gigabit passive optical network) network and NGN(Next generation network) architecture. And, we proposed mechanism of dynamic GEM(G-PON encapsulation mode) Port-ID allocation. This is able to solve a problem of 10G G-PON inter-operation. The mechanism of dynamic GEM Port-ID allocation has OMCI(ONT management control and interface) mapping table for IP address and port number. That architecture is able to support per flow QoS(Quality of service) as well as QoS of NGN requirement. So that can improve the resource efficiency of QoS than the existing G-PON architecture.

  • In this paper, a telematics service platform, which supports the management and diagnosis of automobile and controls the automobile's convenience equipment is designed and implemented. Using the service platform, telematics software can be developed independent of the lower part of automobiles's network devices, each hardware devices, and wireless network devices. The platform classifies each device's service and provides it with the fixed form of API(Application Programming Interface). This API consists of the wireless connection for a mobile device, the CAN network for controlling an automobile, the receiving part of GPS data for location base service, and the message parser for different data formats of different network.
