Generally speaking, a hydrodynamic model needs a friction coefficient (Manning coefficient or Chezy coefficient) and eddy viscosity. For numerical solution the coefficients are usually determined by recursive calculations. The eddy viscosity in numerical model plays physical diffusion in flow and also acts as numerical viscosity. Hence its value has influence on the stability of numerical solution and for these reasons a consistent evaluation procedure is needed. By using records of stage and discharge in the downstream reach of the Han river, I-D models (HEC-2 and NETWORK) and 2-D model (SMS), estimated values of Manning coefficient and an empirical equation for eddy viscosity are presented. The computed results are verified through the recorded flow elevation data.n data.

This work presents a simulation model for a specific UV disinfection system (UVDS) powered by a Photovoltaic System. The global UVDS also includes the electronic converters, Electronic Ballast, UV Lamp and Motor Pump. The equations that model the physical components' behaviour are connected to obtain a dynamic global model. The latter is converted in a Simulink/Matlab model, which allows to carry out simulation series concerning the entire UVDS. The physical parameters: the irradiation G and the temperature T, are considered as inputs. series of measurements carried out in order to show how these parameters affect the current, the voltage of the PVs and especially the value of the current of the UV lamp, on the other hand a study on the behavior and the evolution of the parameters of the motor pump such as the armature current, motor torque, speed of rotation and the water flow. The purpose of all this is to realize how important are the two parameters concerning the lamp current and the water flow because they are two very important factors to keep an adequate water quality.
The characteristics of flow and strength of CLSM depend on the combination ratio including the fly ash, pond ash, cement, water quantity and etc. However, it is very difficult to draw the mechanism about the flow, strength and the mixing ratio of each components. Therefore, the method of calculation drawing the flow about the component ratio of CLSM and compression strength value is needed for the valid practical use of CLSM. To verify the efficiency of artificial neural network, new data which were not used for establishing the model were predicted and compared with the results of laboratory tests. In this research, it was used to evaluate the learning efficiency of the artificial neural network model and the prediction ability by changing the node number of hidden layer, learning rate, momentum, target system error and hidden layer. By using the results, the optimized artificial neural network model which is suitable for a flow and compressive strength estimate of CLSM was determined.
We show that some network and pom-pom constitutive models are essentially the same. Instead of the usual confrontation, we suggest that the two approaches can offer useful mutual support: vital information about network destruction rates found from detailed pom-pom calculations can be used to improve the network models, while deductions about network creation rates can pinpoint areas needing further attention in the tube modelling area. A new form of the PTT model, the PTT-X model, results in improved shear and elongational flow descriptions, plus an improved recoil behaviour. The remaining problems of strain-time separation, second normal stress difference description, and reduction of parameters are also discussed and some suggestions for progress are offered.
A recently developed electro-thermal simulation methodology is used to analyze the behavior of a PWM(Pulse-Width-Modulated) voltage source inverter which uses IGBT(Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) as the switching devices. In the electro-thermal network simulation methdology, the simulator solves for the temperature distribution within the power semiconductor devices(IGBT electro-thermal model), control logic circuitry, the IGBT gate drivers, the thermal network component models for the power silicon chips, package, and heat sinks as well as the current and voltage within the electrical network. The thermal network describes the flow of heat form the chip surface through the package and heat sink and thus determines the evolution of the chip surface temperature used by the power semiconductor device models. The thermal component model for the device silicon chip, packages, and heat sink are developed by discretizing the nonlinear heat diffusion equation and are represented in component from so that the thermal component models for various package and heat sink can be readily connected to on another to form the thermal network.
This paper describes the development of robust processor for analyzing network state in Korean Energy Management System. The important function of topology processing is to convert the switching/device model into a bus/branch model by the status of switching devices. The state estimator also provides a consistent unified solution, not only for measurement of the observable system, but also for the unobservable system. The primary function of the online power flow is to provide a highly reliable and flexible power flow solution that can be used to solve a wide variety of power systems problems. The validity of the newly developed functions has been verified through comparative simulations with the existing EMS functions, which are currently in use in the Korean power system.
Manning's roughness coefficient for the Han River (from Paldang dam to Indo Bridge) is estimated by one-dimensional unsteady flow model, NETWORK. The entire river is divided into two regions, one region of Paldang dam to Kwangjang, and another region of Jamsu Bridge to Indo Bridge, and changes of the roughness coefficient according to changes in discharge are estimated using data of the past flood events. Estimated roughness coefficients are compared with previous results. Finally, the stage variation according to the variation of channel roughness is presented.

Video action recognition is widely used in video surveillance, behavior detection, human-computer interaction, medically assisted diagnosis and motion analysis. However, video action recognition can be disturbed by many factors, such as background, illumination and so on. Two-stream convolutional neural network uses the video spatial and temporal models to train separately, and performs fusion at the output end. The multi segment Two-Stream convolutional neural network model trains temporal and spatial information from the video to extract their feature and fuse them, then determine the category of video action. Google Xception model and the transfer learning is adopted in this paper, and the Xception model which trained on ImageNet is used as the initial weight. It greatly overcomes the problem of model underfitting caused by insufficient video behavior dataset, and it can effectively reduce the influence of various factors in the video. This way also greatly improves the accuracy and reduces the training time. What's more, to make up for the shortage of dataset, the kinetics400 dataset was used for pre-training, which greatly improved the accuracy of the model. In this applied research, through continuous efforts, the expected goal is basically achieved, and according to the study and research, the design of the original dual-flow model is improved.
In this paper distributed models for simulating spatially and temporally varied moving storm in a watershed were developed. The complete simulation in a watershed is achieved through two sequential flow simulations which are overland flow simulation and channel network flow simulation. Two dimensional continuity equation and momentum equation of kinematic approximation were used in the overland flow simulation. On the other hand, in the channel network simulation two types of governing equations which are one dimensional continuity and momentum equations between two adjacent sections in a channel, and continuity and energy equations at a channel junction were applied. The finite difference formulations were used in the channel network model. Macks Creek Experimental Watershed in Idaho, USA was selected as a target watershed and the moving storm on August 23, 1965, which continued from 3:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M., was utilized. The rainfall intensity fo the moving storm in the watershed was temporally varied and the storm was continuously moved from one place to the other place in a watershed. Furthermore, runoff parameters, which are soil types, vegetation coverages, overland plane slopes, channel bed slopes and so on, are spatially varied. The good agreement between the hydrograph simulated using distributed models and the hydrograph observed by ARS are Shown. Also, the conservations of mass between upstreams and downstreams at channel junctions are well indicated and the wpatial and temporal vaiability in a watershed is well simulated using suggested distributed models.
The increased environmental concerns and the emphasis on recycling are gradually shifting the orientation of municipal solid waste (MSW) management. This paper is designed to evaluate regionalization programs for MSW management system. We developed a mixed intiger network programming (MIP) model to identify environment-friendly, cost-effective expansion plans for regionalization scenarios considered. The MIP model is a dynamic capacity expansion model based on the network flow model that depicts the MSW management cycle. In particular, our model is designed to determine the optimal form of regionalization using binary variables. We apply this model to assess the regionalization program of Seoul Metropolitan City, which includes three scenarios such as 1) districting, 2) regionalization with neighboring self-governing districts, and 3) g1obalization with all districts. We demonstrate how our model can be used to plan the MSW system. The results indicate that optimal regionalization with nearby self-governing districts can eliminate unnecessary landfills and expansions if jurisdictional obstacles are removed.
