  • This paper presents a new multiprocessor system and corresponding scheduling algorithm that can be applied for implementation of fine grain DSP algorithms such as digital filters. The newly proposed system uses one or more shared buses as the basic interconnection network between processors, and fixed amount of clock-skew is maintained between instruction execution of processors. This system not only can handle the interprocessor communications very efficiently but also can explicitly incorporate the interprocessor communication delay time into the multiprocessor scheduling model. This paper also presents a new scheduling strategy for implementing digital filters expressed in fully-specified flow graphs on the proposed system. The simulation result shows that well-known digital filters can be implemented on proposed multiprocessor in which the implementation satisfies the iteration period bound.

  • According to rapidly increasing of network traffics, necessity of high-speed router also increased. For various purposes, like traffic statistic and security, traffic measurement function should performed by router. However, because of the nature of high-speed router, memory resource of router was limited. RCC proposed a way to measure traffics with high speed and accuracy. Additional quadratic probing hashing table used for accumulating elephant flows in RCC. However, in our experiment, quadratic probing performed many overheads when allocated small memory space or load factor was high. Especially, quadratic requested many calculations in update and lookup. To face this kind of problem, we use a cuckoo hashing which performed a good performance in update and loop for enhancing the RCC. As results, RCC with cuckoo hashing performed high accuracy and speed even when load factor of memory was high.

  • Background: EY-6 is one of the newly synthesized indoledione derivatives to induce tumor cell-specific cell death. In this study, we investigated the mechanism of immunological death induced by EY-6 at mouse colon cancer cell as well as at the normal immune cell represented by dendritic cell. Methods: C57BL/6 mouse syngeneic colon cancer cell MC38 was treated with EY-6, and analyzed by MTT for viability test, flow cytometry for confirming surface expressing molecules and ELISA for detection of cytokine secretion. Normal myeloid-dendritic cell (DC) was ex vivo cultured from bone marrow hematopoietic stem cells of C57BL/6 mice with GM-CSF and IL-4 to analyze the DC uptake of dead tumor cells and to observe the effect of EY-6 on the normal DC. Results: EY-6 killed the MC38 tumor cells in a dose dependent manner (25, 50 and $100{\mu}M$) with carleticulin induction. And EY-6 induced the secretion of IFN-${\gamma}$ but not of TNF-${\alpha}$ from the MC38 tumor cells. EY-6 did not kill the ex-vivo cultured DCs at the dose killing tumor cells and did slightly but not significantly induced the DC maturation. The OVA-specific cross-presentation ability of DC was not induced by chemical treatment (both MHC II and MHC I-restricted antigen presentation). Conclusion: Data indicate that the EY-6 induced tumor cell specific and immunological cell death by modulation of tumor cell phenotype and cytokine secretion favoring induction of specific immunity eliminating tumor cells.

  • Background: Epstein Barr virus (EBV) infected B cells are transformed into lymphoblastoid cell lines. Some researchers suggested some a few similarities between this process and carcinogenesis. We observed the expression of CD80 and CD86, co-stimulatory molecules on EBV-transformed B cells and changes of CD54 expression after stimulation of CD80 and CD86. Methods: CD80 and CD86 were stimulated using anti-CD80 and anti-CD86 monoclonal antibodies. To assess apoptosis and surface protein expression, flow cytometric analysis was performed. Intracellular signal molecules were evaluated by RT-PCR and immunoblot. Morphology and localization of proteins were examined using inverted or confocal microscope. Results: Cross-linking of CD80 and CD86 induced apoptosis and interfered with proliferation of EBV-transformed B cells, and dispersion of clumped cells. We also examined that their stimulation induced ROS accumulation and reduced CD54 expression. Interestingly, we observed that CD80 and CD86 diminished the expression of CD54 in different methods. Both CD80 and CD86 downregulated activation of focal adhesion kinase. CD80 stimulus inhibited CD54 expression through mainly RhoA inactivation, while CD86 down-regulated Ras and JNK phosphorylation. Conclusion: These results suggest that co-stimulatory CD80 and CD86 molecules, expressed EBV-transformed B cells, may play a role in apoptosis and cell adhesion.

  • E-PON supports efficiently the increased Internet data traffic and efficient bandwidth assignment function by which the shared upstream bandwidth in the broadband access networks. In this paper, when different types of incoming sources are mapped into QoS-aware source and Best-Effort(BE) source, we propose the Dual-GPS schedulaer in E-PON that has the characteristics to provide delay and delay-constraint application, and maximizes the bandwidth to best-effort service. When transmit upstream data in E-PON, The proposed scheme supports the control capabilities of delay and delay-variation for required QoS flow through the novel bandwidth assignment scheme. Simulation results show our scheme outperforms the conventional bandwidth allocation scheme in controlling the delay and delay-variation of E-PON system.

  • 3GPP evolved packet system (EPS) is an all-IP based system that supports various access networks such LTE, HSPA/HSPA+, and non-3GPP networks. Recently, the support of IP flows with packet level QoS profiles was added to the requirements of the EPS. This paper proposes an adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) scheme that supports the QoS of such IP flows in the 3G LTE access network of the EPS. Defining the retransmission as a critical factor for QoS, the proposed scheme applies different maximum packet error probability $P_{max}$ to each packet when selecting the AMC transmission mode. In determining $P_{max}$, the QoS constraints and NACK-to-ACK error as well as channel condition are considered, balancing two objectives: the satisfaction of the QoS and the maximization of spectral efficiency. The simulation results show that it is able to reduce both delay violation and status report by 10%, while improving the throughput 10% in comparison with an existing scheme.

  • We have fabricated the source-drain electrodes for OTFTs by screen printing method and manufactured Ag pastes as conductive paste. To obtain excellent conductivity and screen-printability of Ag pastes, the dispersion characteristics of Ag pastes prepared from two types of acryl resins with different molecular structures and Ag powder treated with caprylic acid, triethanol amine and dodecane thiol as surfactant respectively were investigated. The Ag pastes containing Ag powder treated with dodecane thiol having thiol as anchor group or AA4123 with carboxyl group(COOH) of hydrophilic group as binder resin exhibited excellent dispersity. But, Ag pastes(CA-41, TA-41, DT-41) prepared from AA4123 fabricated the insulating layer since the strong interaction between surface of Ag powder and carboxyl group(COOH) of AA4123 interfered with the formation of conduction path among Ag powders. The viscosity behavior of Ag pastes exhibited shear-thinning flow in the high shear rate range and the pastes with bad dispersion characteristic demonstrated higher shear-thinning index than those with good dispersity due to the weak flocculated network structure. The output curve of OTFT device with a channel length of 107 ${\mu}m$ using screen-printed S-D electrodes from DT-30 showed good saturation behavior and no significant contact resistance. And this device exhibited a saturation mobility of $4.0{\times}10^{-3}$ $cm^2/Vs$, on/off current ratio of about $10^5$ and a threshold voltage of about 0.7 V.

  • This is the urban design master plan for the Public Administration Town. The project proposes a newly configured city, where environmental and democratic principles are expressed in the shape of the urban fabric. To achieve the goal, the concepts of 'Flat City, Link City, and Zero City' were introduced. These concept show "Space fabric arrange, connection and material circulation and flow from ecological landscape". 'Flat City' shaped the government buildings into an iconic plane, and democratic society. The iconic plane's surface extends across the whole city, creating an expansive public park, which is easily accessible, and open to nature. 'Link City' connects governmental agencies to enhance their function and interactions. Government facilities, parks and green spaces, cultural facilities, commercial zones, and residential districts areas create an interconnecting network. 'Zero City' has integrated infrastructure systems to reuse waste, reduce pollution, and provide essential city functions. It creates a new wildlife habitat, making 'Zero City' a good neighborhood. This proposal was made to integrate historical, regional, nature experiences with various approaches in architecture, city, and landscape architecture.

  • Due to the diversity of device performances and the possibility of providing multimedia service through many networks, media consumption environment has been changed in various ways. In recent, mobile services and broadcasting services started to provided through IP network. According to this flow changes, there was great demand for various multimedia services through heterogenous networks. To solve this problem, MMT was suggested as a standard of multimedia transport which replaces MPEG-2 TS(Transport Stream) which is used for HD(High Definition) transport. MMT can be provided various broadcasting based on IP through terrestrial, satellite, cable broadcasting networks, and also deliver multimedia through many networks at the same time. MMT was risen as a method of servicing UHD broadcasting. In this paper, we present an implementation of service architecture for hierarchical UHD broadcasting over heterogenous networks using MMT.

  • Bone is a self-assembly material. It is known that the low amplitude and high frequency mechanical stimulus, which is much less amplitude but higher frequency than those induced by the normal activity, can induce new bone formation. The vibrating resonance is employed to elucidate why new bone is formed by this kind of mechanical stimulus. For example, as 30 Hz and $5{\mu}{\epsilon}$ mechanical stimulus is applied at the wall of canaliculus (the tiny tube type pathway of bone fluid flow and the diameter of canaliculus is less than 200nm), the osteocytic cell membrane experiences $1,000{\mu}{\epsilon}$ strain due to the vibrating resonance. Two experiments will follow after this pilot study; (1) observing the MAPK pathway of osteocytes by using in-vitro cell culture and (2) visualizing the actin filament network in the osteocytes by using the imaging technique, such as confocal laser scanning microscope.
