도시의 지형적 입지정보에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Site Information of Urban)

  • This study analyzed major cities of Chung-cheong area in Korea, -Daejeon($36^{\circ}11'{\sim}36^{\circ}30'\;N$, $127^{\circ}15'{\sim}127{\circ}34'\;E$), Chungju($36^{\circ}54'{\sim}37{\circ}02'\;N$, $127^{\circ}52'{\sim}128^{\circ}02'\;E$), and Cheongju($36^{\circ}34'{\sim}36^{\circ}44'\;N$, $127^{\circ}22'{\sim}127^{\circ}34'\;E$)- their characteristics as a Information Site. The geology map, a summit level map, and a drainage network map are created and analyzed the Site. The results are as follows : First, the geology of these cities are related with the shapes and the characteristics of the inner basins. The relief of inner basin determines by the characteristics of the bedrocks. Second, the major cities are close to rivers and the size of the granite & alluvium area influences the relief energy of the urban areas. Finally, the drainage networks explains the process involved in forming the basin and development of urban area.

  • Most of the architecture is constructed in cities. Urbanism or network, occurring in contemporary society, has changed the concept of space. For this reason, many architects now focus on the changes of the relationship between architecture and cities and the changes of modern life styles. Therefore, it is necessary for architecture, not to mention architects, to find out new design methods that are able to respond to the changes. This study starts form the thought that MVRDV, the group of architects in the Netherlands, makes a design in the process, connected with contemporary society, cities, informations, and techniques. The purpose of this study is that bring to light the MVRDV's way to design, datascape, as a new design method.

Comparative Analysis of Tourism Competitiveness between Coastal Metropolitan Cities as Tourist Destinations

  • The competitiveness of a country or a city plays an important role as a determining factor in this age of globalization In view of tourism studies, the potential for a region to develop depends primarily on its ability to use and maintain economic advantages in its provision of tourist products and services. In spite of the importance of competitiveness in tourism studies, few researches have been done on competitiveness in Korea The purpose of this study is, therefore, to conduct a comparative analysis of competitiveness between coastal metropolitan cities in Korea-Busan, Ulsan and Incheon- developing tourism index and finding out urban competitiveness. The findings of this study will contribute to enhancing tourism promotion and mutual network with other cities and attracting domestic and international tourists.

  • Cities have complex system composed diverse activities. The activities in cities have complex relationship that creates diverse urban phenomena. Big Data is emerging technology in order to understand such complex network. This research aims to understand such relations by analysing the diverse city indexes. 28 indexes were collected in 25 of districts in Seoul city and analysed to find a weighted correlation. By defining the correlation values of certain years, it tries to predict the missed index values, "happiness" of each districts in other years. The result presents that the overall prediction accuracy 70.25%. However, for further discussion, the result is considered that this methods may not enough to use in practice, since the data has inconstant accuracy by different learning years.

Urban Dynamics in Northeast Asia and the Future of Korean Cities

  • This paper attempts at analyzing the urban dynamics in Northeast Asia by looking at major forces transforming the regional structure of Northeast Asia. Trade and foreign direct invest-ment are identified as two principal channels of increasing economic interdependence in the region. In addition, macro development strategy and infrastructure policy are another set of determining factors for changes in the regional structure of Northeast Asia. To examine the role of cities and inter-city linkages, the paper first tries to identify major urban centers and urban hierarchy in Northeast Asia. Secondly, it examines the prospects for inter-city network formation. Against these anticipated changes in the regional structure and inter-city networks in Northeast Asia, the paper discusses about the future of Korea as well as the role of Koran cities in the regional economy of Northeast Asia.

수도권 광역화에 따른 새로운 개념의 교통수단에 관한 연구 (Study on New conceptional transportation system for a Big city)

  • A few of new and large cities have been developed and developing at some areas surrounding Seoul, a capital city of Korea. Thus, commuters from new city to downtown are considerably increasing and the present network of road and railway will be short of transportation capacities. A special problem is that new cities are far from downtown than pre-existing new cities and the entering to downtown is required to a considerable time and cost. Therefore, a new conceptional transportation system has to be substitute with old-fashioned road and railway. This paper presents the feasibility of the deep & high-speed nonstop railway which is able to access to the downtown with ease and fast from new city. If the railway is located under deep position, indemnity cost of land will be notably down. If the railway runs with high speed and has a nonstop concept, the access time to downtown will be remarkably short.

광양만권 트라이앵글 도시의 공간구조 변화: 중심지형에서 네트워크형으로 (Spatial Structure Change of Triangle-Cities in Gwangyang Bay Region: From Central Place Structure to Network City)

  • 이 연구는 광양만권에 위치한 여수시·순천시·광양시 등 3개 도시 간 도시체계 및 공간구조 변화를 고찰한 것이다. 중앙정부가 광양만권에서 수행한 대규모 개발사업, 1960년대 중반 제2정유공장 건설, 1980년대 중반 POSCO 광양제철소 준공, 1987년 시작된 광양항컨테이부두 착공과 2003년 광양만권경제자유구역 지정, 2012년 여수세계박람회 개최 등에 힘입어 3개 도시의 산업화와 도시화가 진행되어 광양만권은 우리나라 대표적인 임해형 산업벨트를 형성한다. 그러나 역사적으로 순천은 광양만권을 포함한 전남 동부지역에서 독점적인 중심지 기능을 수행하였다. 중앙정부가 추진한 전술한 개발사업은 광양만권에 위치한 3개 도시 간 도시체계와 공간구조를 순천 중심의 단핵형에서 네트워크형으로 변화를 만들어낸다. 그리고 2012여수세계박람회 개최 이후 3개 도시 간 연결성과 통합성이 강화되면서 광양만권 공간구조는 네트워크형 공간구조로 재편되고 있고, 이런 추세는 향후 더욱 강화될 것으로 전망된다.

지역 대기질 측정망에 나타난 국내 대기오염도의 최근 동향 -2002년 고농도 사례 및 그 기상 특징 (On the Recent Air Pollution Levels Observed in the Regional Air Monitoring Network -High Air Pollution Concentration Episodes and Their Meteorological Characteristics in 2002)

  • We report the high concentration episodes for PM$_{10}$, SO$_2$, NO$_2$, and $O_3$ in many urban areas Korea during 2002. The high concentration episodes are identified based on the National Ambient Air Quality Standards and the observations obtained from the Regional Air Monitoring Network composed of approximately 160 air pollution monitoring stations located in a number of major or big cities in South Korea including Seoul, Pusan, Daegu, and Incheon cities. The results show that the twenty cases of high concentration episodes in 2002 consists of both ozone warning episodes (6 cases) and high PM$_{10}$ concentration cases (14 cases), and one half of the latter are found to occur in association with the Yellow Sand (Asian Dust) phenomena. The most outstanding characteristics of the reported episodes are the excessively high levels of maximum PM$_{10}$ concentrations during the Yellow Sand period (i.e., exceeding 3,000$\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥ in April, 2002) and their variable occurrence frequencies across seasons. The high ozone concentration episode days are mainly resulting from both the high photochemical reactions and poor ventilations. The high PM$_{10}$ concentration days during non Yellow Sand periods, however, mostly occurred under the influence of synoptic meteorological conditions such as stagnant or slowly passing high pressure centers, and consequently prevailing weak wind speeds over the Korean peninsula. The overall results of our study thus suggest the importance of both synoptic and local meteorological factors for high concentration levels in the major and/or big cities in Korea.n Korea.

  • 도시부 도로의 혼잡 및 지체가 매년 증가 추세를 보이고 있는 중 국내외에서 교통네트워크 성능평가에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 교통네트워크 성능평가의 대표적인 항목은 차량주행거리를 들 수 있다. 차량주행거리는 해당 도로를 이용한 모든 차량들의 이동거리 합으로 다양한 교통정책분석의 기초자료로 활용되고 있다. 본 연구는 국내 6대 광역시를 대상으로 차량주행거리 산정방법론을 정립하고 이를 적용하여 차량주행거리를 산정하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 본 논문에서는 6대 광역시 대상 수집된 도로교통량과 회귀크리깅을 이용하여 추정한 교통량 미수집 구간의 교통량을 활용하여 차량주행거리를 산정하였다. 도시부 도로의 네트워크 형상과 교통량 미수집구간 위치에 따라 본 연구에서 제시한 교통량 추정방법을 향후 차량주행거리 산정에 있어 큰 효용이 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Green network analysis in coastal cities using least-cost path analysis: a study of Jakarta, Indonesia

  • The rapid urbanization in developing countries is accelerating both the depletion and fragmentation of urban green space, despite the known positive effects of green spaces on the environmental conditions in cities and the quality of life of residents. Consequently, there is a need for practical tools that can support the development of networks of urban green spaces. This article presents a study that used a GIS-based least cost path (LCP) analysis to identify the best alternative for developing an urban green space network in the coastal city of Jakarta, Indonesia, which was based on the evaluation of topography and land use characteristics. Pair-wise analysis was used to reduce the sensitivity in the LCP model. The results showed that the coastal wetlands in the northern part of Jakarta and the agricultural fields in the suburban areas of Jakarta play an important role in connecting the green space network. On the other hand, some green spaces in the central part of Jakarta could not be connected by the LCP model. The method used in this study can serve as a tool to support the identification of networks of potential urban green spaces. It can also provide useful information for sustainable urban landscape planning and management in urban ecosystems. However, the inclusion of socio-economic criteria would further improve the model.
