This study investigates the school resources and programs for health promotion services, especially in areas of smoking cessation and acohol-reducing. The health of students is very important because of students' long life-span remained and their impacts on the community. A three-stage survey model was established. Three stages include a current status of school health resources and programs, an attitude to get rid of health risks at school, and a behavioral intention to provide health promotion programs in the near future. Three hundred and thirty-six schools filled up and returned the questionnaire by mail. The results showed that the facility and personnel for health management are equipped sufficiently in general, except in rural area located, small sized, or middle schools. But provided programs are not good enough in both quantity and quality. Frequently, schools provide the programs such as advertisement, mass education by internal lecturers, and individual. counselling. The programs of special lectures, group activities or rather active use of suppresants are provided rarely, because of the lack of special knowledge or financial supports at school. However, behavioral intention to provide such programs was high. Therefore, the role of health department at school should be fortified. The health teachers need to be trained as a consultant, and the education materials need to be provided to them The school also need to be supported with external experts for special lectures or group activities. In conclusion, schools need to pay more attention to the health risk of students and develop the effective and efficient school health programs for students' health.

Background and Objectives : Paradoxical vocal cord movement is a series of paroxysmal adduction of the anterior two-thirds of the vocal cords during respiration or during phonation. The choking, stridor, and wheezing in this condition occur primarily on inhalation, rather than on exhalation. The two pathognomonic diagnostic criterias that need to be assessed during an acute presentation are laryngoscopy with direct visualization of paradoxical adduction of the vocal cords and pulmonary function testing. Materials and Methods : A retrospective review of 3 patients who were referred to otolaryngologist from pulmonology department, and were confirmed by typical laryngoscopic findings with paradoxical adduction of the vocal cords was conducted. Results The patients were misdiagnosed as exercised-induced asthma, and unresponsive to corticosteroid and bronchodilators. Improvement was achieved only by diagnosis with paradoxial vocal cord movement. Biofeed back therapy, voice therapy, treatment for reflux laryngitis improved symptoms. Conclusion The etiology of paradoxical vocal cord movement is unknown. It may be functional or emotional. The functional factors that were proposed are neurologic deficit and gastroesophageal reflux. Management methods of this condition consist of psychological counselling, voice therapy, and antireflux medication.

This study was carried out to find out the basic data required to plan and develop Rehabilitation Day Care Program for the stroke survivor's family in Korea. The subjects comprised of 92 stroke survivor's family who discharged from 4 hospitals in Seoul during the past 2 years. Data were analyzed with descriptive analysis, Pearson's correlation analysis, and Stepwise multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS/WIN 10.0 program. The results obtained are as follows; 1. The mean score of the general need of rehabilitation day care program of stroke survivor's family was 3.10(range 1-4). The highest need among the service categories of the rehabilitation day card program was self-care and restorative activities category(3.30), and health services referral category, recreation category, psychosocial activities category in order. The needs of each category are as follows. In the health services referral category, the need for dental examination and medical examination were highest, followed by the need for physical therapy and occupational therapy. In the psychosocial activities category, the need for family counselling was highest. In the self-care and restorative activities category, the need for ROM exercise training was highest, followed by bowel training, and ambulation training. 2. The need of family for rehabilitation day care program service displayed a correlation with the level of education, ADL, and the level of depression, and a reverse correlation with age, illness intrusiveness, depression, knowledge, subject and object burden and relationship with stroke survivors. 3. The stepwise multiple linear regression analysis revealed following results. For the need for rehabilitation day care program service, 22.6% of the variance was initially explained by level of family's knowledge about caring method for stroke survivors, 8.8% was the level of subjective burden and 5.4% was relationship with stroke survivors. In conclusion, above characteristics should be considered to develop stroke survivors' rehabilitation day care program.
The objective of the study was to evaluate the impact of the Call System of agricultural extension services in Korea. The respondents were satisfied on the speedy solution (74.5%), consultation (88.4%), and accessibility (79.7%) of the call system. However, satisfaction of farmers on in-depth consultation was higher (74.3%) than the satisfaction rated by the public servants of RDA (48.9%). Both groups replied positively (70.4%) on the need for expansion of the call system. The analyses of the results leads to a conclusion that there is a need to increase marketing on the importance of RDA's Call System to customers of agricultural extension and to improve accessibility through expansion of the system in other areas. These could solve the decreasing number of extension professionals and improve the quality and efficiency of extension services. These analyses may be useful as bases for a nationwide Call System that connects the center with other districts and for planning a renovation of information-oriented agricultural extension services. The issue that needs improvement is to abandon the grounds of agricultural technology information provider and respond to the customers' needs efficiently by building an established Call System which can minimize the side effect of the trends of reforming and downsizing the organization. It is needed to develop a unified management Call System of agricultural technology information that could provide real-time information, and database the results simultaneously for use as feedback to the Rural Development Programs. Related laws and policies need to be improved to establish a nationwide information network that maximizes the current network in agricultural regions to spread information, to provide institutional support, and to encourage development of training system and research and development by concerned institutes.

This study has been performed to explore verbal and behavioral expression of sexual desires among male elderly residents who have been living in long tenn care facilities. There are three topics covered in this study; first, in what situations and how seriously do care workers encounter expression of sexual desires of the elderly residents? Second, what kind of negative consequences do they believe those sexual behaviors will lead to? Third, how can we implement defensive measures against the sexual behaviors? In this study, twenty three care workers working full time in five retirement and care facilities were asked about their experience and perception of the above study agendas, and answers of the qualitative interview were drawn as follow; first, the elderly residents apparently show a variety of sexual harassment and provoking behaviors such as sticking to specific women, physically touching and attacking, and induce obscenely activities against female residents, care workers, and volunteer visitors. Second, their sexual behaviors are often influenced by their isolated and abandoned emotionality as well as living situation in rural areas. Third, their sexual behaviors often critically affect care work plan and facility managements by severely discouraging female care givers and community supporters. Therefore in this study, suggestions and defensive measures were made as follows: first, education and counselling programs toward female workers and volunteers need to be developed, and the programs should cover psychological and behavioral mechanism of sexuality in later life. Second, self control plans need to be empowered toward the elderly residents; in the plans, the elderly residents shall be encouraged to evaluate primary cause and proper solutions of sexual behaviors of their peering residents. Third, combination of healthy housing and care facilities for frail elderly need to be integrated in a neighboring location, so that when residents and workers encounter extreme episodes of sexuality of healthy residents in a housing facility, the problematic sexual residents are partially transferred into a neighboring care facility and thereafter other residents and cafe givers are relieved from stressful contacts with the extremely sexual residents.

Especially, job was consisted of general job and health care management job in the proportion of 1:2.18. The major general job were data management related with the health statistics, and major health care management jobs were managing health care, health counselling, environmental management of working sites. Each specific jobs were required differentiated intellectual capacity, creativity, autonomy, psychic stress, and physical work; most respondents perceived that health care management jobs should require more inputs than general jobs. Additionally job satisfaction and perceived need on specific Job items were anzlysed.
