서비스 전후 우선순위를 고려한 해군함정의 부두 할당에 관한 연구 (A Study on Berth Allocation for Navy Surface Vessel Considering Precedence Relationship among Services)

  • Navy surface vessels require pier services such as emergency repair, oil supply, fm loading/unloading, crane, standby readiness, normal repair, gun arrangement, ammunition loading, and food loading during the period in port. The purpose of this study is to establish efficient berth allocation plan for navy surface vessels in home port under the limited resources of piers and equipments. The study suggests Mixed Integer Programing (MIP) model for bath allocation problem, considering precedence relationships among services. For a effective analysis, the model is implemented by ILOG OPL(Optimization Programming Language) Studio 3.1 and ILOG Cplex 7.0. The results of the model show reduction of berth shifts and increasement of service benefits. And thus, it would be a possibility of contribution in the improvement of fleet readiness.

  • Navy surface vessels require pier services such as emergency repair, oil supply, arm loading/unloading, craning, standby readiness, normal repair, gun arrangement, ammunition loading, and food loading during the period in port. The purpose of this study is to establish efficient berth allocation plan for navy surface vessels in home port under the limited resources of piers and equipments. This study suggests Mixed Integer Programming model for berth allocation problem, considering precedence relationships among services and the uncertainty of the arrival and departure for each vessel. For an effective analysis, the model is implemented by ILOG OPL(Optimization Programming Language) Studio 6.0 and ILOG CPLEX 11.1., which shows a reasonable result.

함정용 패키지 에어콘 응축기 핀튜브(Cu-Ni 70/30) 누설파괴 원인 분석 (Failure Analysis of Condenser Fin Tubes of Package Type Air Conditioner for Navy Vessel)

  • In 2015, a fin tube (Cu-Ni 70/30 alloy) of package type heat exchanger for navy vessel was perforated through the wall which led to refrigerant leakage. This failure occurred after only one year since its installation. In this study, cause of the failure was determined based on available documents, metallographic studies and computational fluid dynamics simulation conducted on this fin tube. The results showed that dimensional gap between inserted plastic tube and inside wall of fin tube is the cause of the swirling turbulent stream of sea water. As a result of combination of swirling turbulence and continuing collision of hard solid particles in sea water, erosion corrosion has begun at the end of inserted plastic tube area. Crevice corrosion followed later in the crevice between the outer wall of plastic tube and inner wall of fin tube. It was found that other remaining tubes also showed the same corrosion phenomena. Thorough inspection and prompt replacement will have to be accomplished for the fin tubes of the same model heat exchanger.

  • 경비, 훈련, 지원 등의 해상 임무를 종료한 해군 함정은 차기 임무를 준비하기 위해 모항에 입항하여 긴급수리, 유류수급, 무장 적하역, 크레인, 태세유지, 수리, 포 배열, 탄약적재, 부식 작업 등의 일련의 서비스를 필요로 한다. 본 연구에서는 한정된 선석과 설비 자원 하에서 여러 함정에 대한 효율적인 선석 할당 계획의 수립을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 불필요한 선석이동을 줄이고 계획기간 동안 각 함정이 필요로 차는 서비스를 점수화한 총점을 최대화하는 기존의 모형을 토대로, 서비스 지속 기간이 제한적이고 서비스들 간의 전후 우선순위가 존재하는 현실적인 제약을 고려하면서 전비태세를 향상시킬 수 있는 혼합 정수 계획 모형(Mixed Integer Programming)을 수립해 보았다. 효과적인 분석을 위하여 ILOG OPL(Optimization Programming Language) Studio 3.1을 사용하여 모델링 한 후 ILOG CPLEX 7.0으로 최적해를 구해 보았다. 본 연구에서 제시한 모형이 해군 함정의 효율전인 선석 할당 계획 수립에 적용될 수 있다면 해군 부대의 전비태세 향상에 기여를 할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

  • The South Korean Navy is making efforts to acquire vessels that the new technology of the 4th industry is applied, and as a part of these efforts, it has a plan to mount and operate an Unmanned Surface Vehicle(USV) on a vessel that will be introduced later. However, the recent studies have focused on only development of common platforms and mission equipment for the USV, and have not sufficiently analyzed studies and operatinoal requirements on mother ship that will operate the mounted USV. Hence, this study analyzed and presented requirements of mother ship with the mounted USV in order to operate effectively it when the future medium and large vessels to be acquired by the South Korean Navy intent to operate the USV.

  • The present study concerns assessing the operability of a surface combatant, based on the Percent-Time-Operable (PTO). For validation of the seakeeping analysis in the regular waves, the model test is first conducted in a towing tank. The seakeeping analysis results in the regular waves are expanded to the irregular waves, considering the wave spectra around the Korean peninsula and in North Pacific. The seakeeping criteria of the surface combatant in transit, combat, replenishment operation, and survival condition are defined by the literature review. An annual operation scenario of the surface combatant in two operation areas, i.e., advance speed and wave direction, are combined with the seakeeping analysis results to assess PTO. The main constraints of operability of the surface combatant are identified as the pitch angle and vertical velocity at the helicopter deck.

Effect of flap angle on transom stern flow of a High speed displacement Surface combatant

  • Hydrodynamic Drag of Surface combatants pose significant challenges with regard to fuel efficiency and exhaust emissions. Stern flaps have been used widely as an energy saving device, particularly by the US Navy (Hemanth et al. 2018a, Hemanth Kumar and Vijayakumar 2018b). In the present investigation the effect of flap turning angle on drag reduction is numerically and experimentally studied for a high-speed displacement surface combatant fitted with a stern flap in the Froude number range of 0.17-0.48. Parametric investigations are undertaken for constant chord length & span and varying turning angles of 5° 10° & 15°. Experimental resistance values in towing tank tests were validated with CFD. Investigations revealed that pressure increased as the flow velocity decreased with an increase in flap turning angle which was due to the centrifugal action of the flow caused by the induced concave curvature under the flap. There was no significant change in stern wave height but there was a gradual increase in the stern wave steepness with flap angle. Effective length of the vessel increased by lengthening of transom hollow. In low Froude number regime, flow was not influenced by flap curvature effects and pressure recovery was marginal. In the intermediate and high Froude number regimes pressure recovery increased with the flap turning angle and flow velocity.
