There have been many kinds of hair styling sprays with various setting effects. Consumers have used strong setting effect hair sprays to get a long lasting hold. In recent years, however, more and more consumers have come to prefer a "soft ＆ natural" touch feeling, keeping the same long lasting hold. Nonetheless, the existing approaches to this feature could not respond to the consumers′ needs, since products lose the hold strength if the soft feeling is pursued, and vice versa. We have researched and developed a new products to attain a compatible feature with both long lasting hold and natural feeling. Then, we have developed a new multifunctional hair styling material "Poly Amino Acid Derivative (PAAD)." We have focused on the PAAD′s feature that highly diffuses onto a hair and makes thin and even layer on a hair, and have made trials and errors to improve holding strength. "P AAD" excellently makes hair memorize its curl shape which is as the same effect as existing ordinary acrylic resin. Further more, it leaves a soft and natural touch feeling on the hair. We have accomplished a new Poly Amino Acid Derivative with ambivalent features, "soft ＆ natural finish" and "long lasting hold ", and now we report about it.

최근 합성 염모제의 부작용들 때문에 인체에 무해한 천연재료를 이용한 염색에 대한 관심이 고조되어 있다. 본 연구에서는 농산 폐기물인 칡뿌리 추출물을 이용해 탈색 모발에 천연 염색을 함으로써 염색에 적절한 염색 시간, 염색시 온도와 매염과 매염제 처리 농도 변화 등에 따른 모발의 염색 정도를 색차계를 통해 조사하였다. 합성 염모제가 가진 화학 물질로 인한 모발 손상에 비해 칡뿌리 추출물을 이용한 모발 염색은 손상도를 낮춰주고 큐티클을 부드럽게 유지시키는 결과를 가져왔다. 칡 추출물만으로 염색한 모발이 가장 어두워짐을 관찰함으로써, 매염제는 염색의 보조 역할을 하는 성분임을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구의 결과를 종합하여 볼 때 칡뿌리 추출물은 합성 염모제에 비해 모발 손상도가 적으며 칡뿌리 추출물을 천연 모발 염모제의 주원료로써 활용가치가 있음을 제안하는 바이다.

본 연구의 목적은 율피 색소로 1제형 산성 염모제를 제조하여 1제형 산성 염모제의 단점인 색상의 발색력을 높이고 오랜 지속력을 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해, 분광측색계를 이용하여 염색력을 측정하고, 모발의 퇴색 정도를 살펴보기 위해 광학밀도(O.D.) 값을 측정하였으며, 모발의 탄력성은 인장강도를 측정하여 분석하였다. 각 레벨의 모발 시료에 대해 다른 방치 시간과 처리 방법을 적용한 결과를 비교한 결과, 20분간 열처리한 실험군이 가장 높은 염색력을 나타내었다. 이어 자연방치 40분, 열처리 10분, 자연방치 20분 순으로 확인되었다. 그리고 10레벨까지 올라갈수록 색상 표현이 높아지는 것을 확인하였다. 그러나 10레벨에서는 3일 후에도 약간의 수분 손실이 발생하고 인장강도도 낮은 것을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과는 앞으로 뷰티 업계가 다양한 천연염색 성분이 함유된 1제형 산성 염모제를 대중화하여 현대인의 웰빙과 건강한 심신을 유지하는 데 도움을 줄 것을 시사한다.

This study aims to analyze the hair styles featured in the collections from S/S season of 1995 to F/W season of 2004 both qualitatively and quantitatively by using content-analytical methods. This study was able to form a classifying system that divides hair styles into those artificial and those natural through systematic and scientific research. The resulting system, in turn, broadened the basis for understanding modern fashion and hair style expressions. In addition, by analyzing design-related characteristics, certain expressive techniques employed, and trends in detail, this study contributed to establishing the hair styles, which form part of socio-cultural phenomena, as an academic subject.

The effect of natural products(drug 1, drug 2) on hair growth of frontal scalp of ten stumptailed macaques was investigated in period of 12 months. Drug 1 conteins extracts of Angelica gigantis Radix ok. and drug 2 conteins extracts of Corm Fructus, etc. Photographs of close view of the frontal scalp were taken once every month and folliclogram analysis has been done at pretretment and on 5th, 10th and 12th month after treatment. Drug 1 showed only slight effect or no effect on hair growth and drug 2 exhibited a significant degree of hair regrowth, but the control group exhibited a definite degree of regrowth and increasing density of vellum hair. Also, the physiological parameters, such as body weight, blood pressure, heart rate, serum levels of androgens, hematological measures during the treatment of drug 1, drug 2, and vehicle, were within normal limits. It indicates the drug 2 is the possible appearance of new summit of hair growth.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the antioxidant activity and hair growth effects of a natural herbal ethanol extract, Samhwang-Sasimtang(SS). In case of antioxidant ability of SS, the content of phenolic compounds was 28.44mg/g. The extract showed strong electron donating ability and free radical scavenging activity in a concentration-dependent manner. SOD-like activity also rose through increasing the concentrations of SS. In order to estimate the hair growth effects, the extract was applied to the back of seven-week-old C57BL/6 male mice ($150{\mu}{\ell}$ a day, five days a week, for four weeks) in four groups (C, control, saline; PC, positive control, 3% minoxidil; E1, experimental 1, 1% SS; E2, experimental 2, 2% SS). Ten mice were assigned to each group and five mice in each group were sacrificed at weeks 2 and 4, respectively. There was no a significant difference in body weight change among experimental groups. In macroscopic observation of hair growth at week 4, the scores of hair growth on the backs of mice were 80, 60, 40 and 20% in the PC, E2, E1 and C groups. In terms of histological observation, the ratio and thickness of hair follicles, the enzyme activities of ALP and ${\gamma}$-GT, immunohistological examination of IGF-1 and VEGF which are the hair growth factors, in each group were significantly high in this order: PC, E2, E1 and C group, at week 4. Meanwhile, hair growth inhibition factors, TGF-${\beta}1$ and Caspase-3, were reduced in PC, E1 and E2 groups compared with C group. These results indicate that SS extract may be effective in promoting hair growth, and suggest that it can be used practically as a superior natural agent for hair growth promotion.

This study is to understand how fluidity and natural features of Art Nouveau style are reflected in hair style of Art Nouveau age and Modem age and be a help to the trend analysis of hair style in the future. The study is conducted with the research on Art Nouveau expression in hair style and analysis of hair-show, trend presentation, documents related with hair style, TV drama, theses, journals and internet etc through advance research for Art Nouveau and Hair. The result of the analysis on Art Nouveau pattern in hair design is presented as below. First, it shows rounded, winding, flowing and thick-waved style of Art Nouveau pattern in modem long and short hair style. It also shows the beauty of long, bending and flexible lines, waving liveness and thin and slim lines and this is the Art Nouveau pattern that is also applied to other fields. In terms of decoration, it does not use tree vines, leaves and petals that are expressed in paintings of Art Nouveau age. Second, it shows natural up-style by lifting hair up with waved long hair that is one pattern of Art Nouveau and expresses hair style with feathers of birds, tree vines, leaves and petals etc for more decoration in animal pattern to make cute, romantic and elegant style in hair style.

본 연구는 홈케어 헤어트리트먼트 특성 및 사용 빈도에 따라 퍼머넌트 웨이브 시술시 모발에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 수행하였다. 시중에 유통되는 헤어트리트먼트를 양이온계면활성제, 실리콘 오일로 구분하였다. 사용빈도에 따라 제품별 5회, 10회, 20회 다르게 헤어트리트먼트를 처리한 후 헤어 퍼머넌트 웨이브를 시술하였다. 실험 방법으로 모발의 굵기, 인장강도, SEM을 이용한 모표피 관찰, EDS를 이용한 모발 구성 원소 분석을 하였다. 실험 결과 천연유래성분이 주성분이며 양이온계면활성 및 실리콘 오일이 미첨가된 제품군이 모발 보호 효과가 높게 측정되었다. 이에 천연유래성분을 이용한 제품군이 더욱 연구 개발되어야 하며 자극적 화학 성분이 첨가된 제품은 사용 방법 및 빈도에 대한 연구가 진행 되어야 할 것으로 사료된다.

Objectives: The hair follicle is composed of more than 20 kinds of cells, and mesoderm derived dermal papilla cells and keratinocytes cooperatively contribute hair growth via Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. We are to investigate β-catenin expression and regulatory mechanism by CBD in alopecia hair tissues and dermal papilla cells. Methods: We performed structural and anatomical analyses on alopecia patients derived hair tissues using microscopes. Pharmacological effect of CBD was evaluated by β-catenin expression using RT-PCR and immunostaining experiment. Results: Morphological deformation and loss of cell numbers in hair shaft were observed in alopecia hair tissues. IHC experiment showed that loss of β-catenin expression was shown in inner shaft of the alopecia hair tissues, indicating that β-catenin expression is a key regulatory function during alopecia progression. Consistently, β-catenin expression was decreased in testosterone or PMA treated dermal papilla cells, suggesting that those treatments are referred as a model on molecular mechanism of alopecia using dermal papilla cells. RT-PCR and immunostaining experiments showed that β-catenin expression was decreased in RNA level, as well as decreased β-catenin protein might be resulted from ubiquitination. However, CBD treatment has no changes in gene expression including β-catenin, but the decreased β-catenin expression by testosterone or PMA was restored by CBD pretreatment, suggesting that potential regulatory effect on alopecia induction of testosterone and PMA. Conclusion: CBD might have a modulating function on alopecia caused by hormonal or excess of signaling pathway, and be a promising application for on alopecia treatment.
