본 연구는 현재 이루어진 종묘제례악의 미의식과 다른 관점에서 여러 사상을 배경으로 완성된 종묘제례악의 피리 선율을 중심으로 미적 요소를 찾아보고 그에 따른 미의식을 살펴보았다. 종묘제례악은 조선시대 역대 왕과 왕비의 신위를 모신 곳에 제사를 지내는 것으로, 유교제사 의례의 결정체이자 제례문화의 대표적 문화유산으로 1964년 국가중요무형문화재(國歌重要無形文化財) 제 1호로 지정되었다. 또 2001년 5월 18일에는 유네스코(UNESCO)지정 '인류구전 및 무형유산걸작'으로 한국에서는 가장 먼저 등재되어 그 우수성을 인정받았다. 오랜 기간 조선왕조와 명운을 같이한 제례문화의 대표적인 문화유산일 뿐만 아니라, 우리조상들에 의해 창조된 악 가 무에 따른 총체적 예술형태의 아름다움을 집대성한 우리음악의 정수(精髓)로 인정받으며 전해지고 있다. 또 유교사상 뿐 아니라, 예악사상을 비롯하여 음양오행사상과 삼재사상(三才思想), 팔괘사상(八卦思想)의 전통사상을 배경으로 하고 있다. 이러한 종묘제례악에는 정관미 유장미 자연미 장려미 조화미가 내제되어 있다. 정관미는 희문과 전폐희문에서 찾아 볼 수 있었다. 유장미는 정대업에만 나타나는 특징이라 할 수 있다. 자연미는 변주시 선율진행에서 노련한 연주기교로 자연스런 창작이 연결되는 부분으로 희문과 전폐희문에 잘 나타나고 있다. 장려미는 보태평 악장선율의 가장 두드러진다. 또 조화미는 종묘제례악의 불협화음이 협화로 음악에서 자연스러운 조화미적인 관점의 미의식이 두드러지게 나타나는 정대업의 소무에 잘 나타나고 있다.

The study is on the beauty of the line in the Cho-sun Costume. In the aspect of the Costume Aesthetics and Study of Clothing Design, I try to find the beauty of the line in the external form and the immanent beauty of the external line in the Cho-sun Costume. The results of the study is that : 1) The beauty of the line external form have ① the functional beauty of the line ② the beauty of drape line ③ combination of the line of internal and external structure. ④ the beauty of wearing with the Chi-ma. ⑤ the beauty of sharp line in the ornaments 2) The immanent beauty of the line in the Cho-sun Costume : There are a natural beauty found by the reason of nature, temperate beauty, simple beauty in the Cho-sun Costume.

The purpose of this study is to examine orientalism in Korean modem fashion by Korean fashion designers. Orientalism in fashion has been widely known to people by the efforts of many researchers, but that in Korean fashion wasn't. We thus study the aesthetic meaning of Korean orientalism, and extend it to oriental fashion as well as meaning of modem orientalism shown in Korean fashion. For this study, we categorized the orientalism in Korean fashion as follows: 1) mix orientalism; 2) natural beauty with non technical skill; 3) humorous beauty; 4) color beauty.

The purpose of this study was to review the origin and background of well-being, the emerging well-being culture, and the phenomenon and features of the hair beauty affected by it. For this purpose, the researcher reviewed dissertations written between 199a and 2002, copies of the beauty journal Short Hair published between 2002 and 2003, beauty newspapers published between March, 2003 and June, 2004, and relevant Internet sites. When we review the well-being hair style tendency, we may be reminded of a light shaggy cut style with a thick wave volume or a natural wave highlighted, or a natural style with a natural color rendered by the braid technique. The well-being hair styles may be inspired by such natural images as the earth, sand, rock, wind, feather and flowers, while using cut, permanent wave or coloring technique for the hairs, in order to create new hair styles. The goal is to make men in contact with the nature. Meanwhile, as people are more concerned about diverse hair textures, natural and healthy hairs, they want their hairs to look comfortable and active rather than luxurious. The well-being cut styles may be categorized into cut style highlighting healthy hairs with a Bobos luxury and soft and light stroke cut reminiscent of a Bohemian freedom. The well-being permanent style may be divided into thick wave, natural wave, and the permanent style using a strong wave to make hairs look bloated. The hair colors reminding us of some natural images are used to highlight a well-being image. In addition, the concept of well-being pursuing a happy and healthy life has been being introduced into the permanent wave material liquids; such liquids made from natural materials, fruits or herbs increase, while environmental-friendly liquids or materials are used more for healthy hairs. The reason why the well-being culture influences hair styles importantly may be that people's desire of healthy body and mind and a comfortable life is reflected in hair styles. In conclusion, as the hair styles or an index for a new cultural current in our modern age are influenced by the well-being phenomenon, more and more people will put priority on healthy hairs. So, it is deemed necessary to apply the well-being hair styles appropriately to render satisfactory hair styles.

Korean traditional architecture has been carried out in the manner that it harmonized surrounding natural environments and never disturbed them in the scale which did not overwhelm the nature, based on the view of architecture predicated on Yin Yang School. The exposed grain of the wood like pillar, hinge and house rafte, the linear expression of the construction material and the formation between the window and door monopolizing the front side presented a harmony with the nature showing the linear structure. Furthermore the ceiling is low due to the sit life style thanks to the ondol (Korean under-floor heating system and the furniture was made in simple manner to utilize the space as large as possible, for the interior was narrow and close, and also the furniture placing in the middle of the room was movably manufactured to improve the room space. Like this Korean traditional furniture was close associated with the low height and simplicity and harmonized with the blank of the wall accordingly, and it characterized linear & planar natural beauty focusing on the simple and refined unique beauty, because it was made in a good harmony with the interior utensils. This study has presented that the organic characteristics of Korean traditional aesthetic of architecture and the natural beauty being intrinsic in traditional furniture have a mutual relation on the basis of not only the visual recognition, also the aesthetic of naturalism made of the natural material, the constructional naivety as a frame method and the linear & planar formative beauty shown in appearance.

As an attempt to view Chason costume from a aesthetic perspective, the aesthetic values of the Choson people, as expressed through the aesthetic characteristics of costumes, are pursued in this study. To appreciate the beauty of the traditional Korean costume, the following aesthetic characteristics of Choson costumes are investigated: form, color, pattern, material and ornament. From the view point of aesthetics, this study shows that Choson costume had comfortable and voluminous forms with beautiful curved lines and rhythm. The most favored colors were white and natural colors of materials. However unusual combination of colors such as the contrast of black and white, the harmony of the primary and rainbow colors were often used. Patterns revealed two aspects : while subdued patterns generally prevail, at times the unexpected beauty of primary colored patterns draws our attention. Smooth natural materials were preferred. Ornaments both for practical and decorative purposes were used together with certain colors and patterens, indicating wearer's status and warding off the evil's spirits. The aesthetic values in costumes as expressed through the aesthetic characteristics can be classified into the following categories: the beauty of nature, the beauty of personality, the aesthetics of evil's eye and the beauty of tradition. The beauty of nature, as appreciated by the Chason people through their prevailing nature, the "Pung-rew Spirit" and through their Worship of Heaven, produced aesthetic characteristics in harmony with nature. The beauty of personality influenced by the ethical standard of Confucianism produced aesthetic characteristics in costumes, through which the appropriate personality was shown for the appropriate social status. On the other hand, the aesthetics of evil's eye, rooted deeply in Folk religion and Shamanism, contributed to various aesthetic characteristics, which strongly inclined to sorcery and symbolism through choice of patterns, colors and ornaments. Finally, the beauty of tradition, which was based on the ethics of Confucianism and the Choson people's conservative tendencies, demonstrated the strong tendency to adhere to the external characteristics of the Choson costume. These aesthetic values were the yardsticks of the aesthetic judgment of the Choson people. These values influenced Chason people in designing costumes and in appreciating the beauty of costumes. The aesthetic experience and attitudes of the Chason people, which were based on these aesthetic values, represented their aesthetic consciousness and desires.

This thesis is a reflection of Korean aestheticism and how it has evolved and influenced Korean contemporary fashion throughout the last century. Up to the current, there have been five notable trends of fashion that have been influenced from and have reflected the qualities emblematic of various periods in Korean history. They can be characterized as the era of Missionary fashion, Uniform fashion, Salon fashion, Brand Name Fashion, and finally, fashion from the current era of diversification. The specific characteristics of each fashion era have been analized and illustrated in a comprehensive table. Design characteristics of Korean contemporary fashion are as follows : 1. A point of emphasis is given to facial feature, unconstructive design and ample silhouette and A silhouette, two-piece and pants. Korean style wrap skirt, a smooth curve and layered style. 2. Effect of flatness from material; as methods of quilting, reinforced dual stitching(Kaeki), patchwork, embroidery and goldfoil thread extra, it is turned up that texture of cloth stuff and effects of flatness. 3. Simple color combinations give effects in two different directions For instance, white and a variety of vivid colors, a dull color and bright colors, black, blue. 4. Over-design, diffusion of fashion. Based on the design characteristics described above, the essence of Korea's beauty consciousness can be captured and summarized through the following points: 1. Emotionalism and non-characterism: traditional and simple natural beauty and modernized natural beauty. 2. From authoritism to non-authoritism: traditional and formal personal beauty and casual characteristic beauty. 3. Polaris (antithesis) phenomenon: chastic beauty and ostentatious beauty, simplicity and lavishness, conformity of fashion and originality. Although the beauty consciousness of Korean contemporary fashion is changing from traditional passive metaphor to aesthetic expressionism for the new generation, after all the basic foundation or root of the spiritual beauty of idealism is usually recognized by focusing on the face.

Knit wear with comfortable feeling of wearing and various coordinations gives new values to the modern people, who seek activities and individualities, and the demand for knit wear is on the rise. This article aims to analyze the aesthetic characteristics of Korean knit fashion. Fashion photographs from leading monthly fashion magazines in Korea from 2005 to 2007 had been analyzed. The knitting techniques, and designing characteristics and aesthetic values of Korean knit fashion had been studied. The major conclusions of the study are the following: 1. Korean knit fashion applies various knitting techniques. The knitting techniques used in Korean knit fashion are hand-knitting technique, crochet techniques, lace techniques, plain stitch, rib stitch, and purl stitch technique. 2. Decorations by trimming and matching with different textile materials are used more frequently than decorations by knit material itself. Decorating methods include fringes, spangle, beads, Rhine stone, motif and embroidery decorating. Matching with different textile materials made contrasting decoration effect. 3. Patterms by knitting structure and by arranging colors are applied. Cubic effect by knitting structure patterns, and geometric patterns by arranging colors are emphasized. 4. The formative feature beauties are natural beauty, feminine beauty, and decorative beauty. Korean knit fashion has developed creative and decorative designs through various knitting techniques and decorating techniques. As individual activities may be increased in the future, the designs and applications of knit fashion may be diversified.

As chemistry dyes has considerably developed with industrial society, natural dyeing has gone out of people's head for a long time. But the serious problems from environmental pollutions and ecological damages make people look far Well-being. Natural dyeing also has concentrated again and the interests about it are growing larger and larger. Well-being that a modern person pursues and a Natural dyeing walk along a same string of connection. That is, people want their life to change from quantity matters into qualities. The relations of the natural dying which has the color of nature and Well-being phenomenons are analyzed through dissertations and references. The study about the correlations between natural dying and well-being shows that many advantages of natural dyestuff and the effects of dyestuff are definitely needed to people living in modern times. Also for the protection of an ecosystem, rapid popularization and the development of new design is completely required.

Generating fractal images by graphing calculators such as TI_92 combines several important features, which convey the excitement of a living, changing mathematics appropriate to secondary or post-secondary students. The topic of fractal geometry can be illustrated using natural objects such as snowflakes, leaves and ferns. These complex and natural forms are often striking fantastic and beautiful. The examples highlight the fact that complex, natural behaviors can result from simple mathematical rules such as those embodied in iterated function systems(IFS). The visual splendor beauty of fractals, in concert with their ubiquity in nature, revels the intellectual beauty of nonlinear mathematics in a compelling way. The window is now open for students to experience and explore some of the wonder of fractal geometry.
