Due to the Korea's topographic characteristic, there are a lot of marine bridges to connect between islands and mainland. In addition, marine bridges play an important role in a regional landscape. For these reasons, landscape design of bridge is necessary in order to improve beautification of region. So, this studies analyzed image and landscape preference of marine bridges in rural area. The main results were summarized as follows: When rating the image of the background in sea and mountain image, 'stable' and 'natural' were rated highly. When rating the image of the arch bridge in sea and mountain image, 'beautiful', and 'attractive' were rated highly. When rating the image of the cable-stayed bridge in sea and mountain image, 'splendid', and 'attractive' were rated highly. When rating the image of the suspension bridge in sea and mountain image, 'beautiful', and 'splendid' were rated highly. Next, When rating the image of the background in sea and building image, 'stable' and 'natural' were rated highly. When rating the image of the arch bridge in sea and building image, 'beautiful', and 'splendid' were rated highly. When rating the image of the cable-stayed bridge in sea and building image, 'beautiful', and 'attractive' were rated highly. When rating the image of the suspension bridge in sea and building image, 'beautiful', and 'attractive' were rated highly. And, The image of suspension bridges in sea and mountain image is more highly preferred than other image. The background in sea and mountain image is landscape of the lowest preference. In the mountain and sea image, the preference of suspension bridge landscape has the highest rating. In the sea and building image, the preference of arch bridge landscape has the highest rating. In conclusion, the results illustrate that the marine bridge's shape and its background in rural area are important elements of a visual preference. When designing the marine bridge, designer have to choose a proper bridge shape for its background. However, this research's limitation is that this research consider only bridge shape and background to analyze landscape preference of marine bridges. Therefore, further research is necessary to consider various elements.

This paper is to study the development background of casual Korean clothes through the consideration of the style change of traditional clothes. The purpose of this study is to present the method for the settlement of casual Koran clothes as everyday clothes and to present the direction which casual Koran clothes follow in the future. The development. The development backgrounds of casual Korean clothes are as followings. 1) the self-awakening for the importance of national culture. 2) practical aspects 3) the change of life style accompanied with economic growth 4) the development of mass media Casual Korean clothes in the future should be studied and developed in following aspects. 1) practical aspects by developing design for easy activity 2) environmental aspects by natural dyeing which is harmless to human body and the nature 3) emotional aspects by regarding traditional beauty as importance 4) color sense aspects according to scarcity of as form change of the Korean clothes 5) production aspects by mass production of ready-made clothes not order clothes 6) diplomatic aspects as folk costume which is corresponding with international trend 7) scientific aspects by developing many patterns according to various bodies 8) economic aspects by low price through the mass cultivation of natural materials 9) fashionable aspects by subdividing traditional clothes to ceremonial clothes, everyday clothes, working clothes.

For building an urban image, various elements such as symbolic building, ethnic characteristics, historical background, natural environment, and diverse cultural elements can influence on it. Many cities in developed countries are showing their unique urban image reflecting their own culture, history, and aesthetic tastes. Especially color, one of the major design elements, has greater impact than other visual factors to form an urban characteristic. Despite the long history and cultural background, Seoul as a capital city of Korea does not show an unique city image with the perspective of color. Recently, Seoul has been designated as '2010 World Design Capital' and implements various urban design projects. As a leading city of design, Seoul is trying to make its urban identity through the own symbolic environment color. The purpose of this study is to find an environmental color scheme for developing a desirable urban design through several cases of foreign countries. For the purpose, Paris, London, Amsterdam, and Tokyo were selected as case cities. Each of the cities showed their own cultural characteristics and made their unique urban image by appropriate usage of their natural environment, symbolic building, emblem of country, and so on. We need to consider these successful cases to build up the image of Seoul.

오토인코더(Autoencoder)는 입력 계층과 출력 계층이 동일한 딥러닝의 일종으로 은닉 계층의 제약 조건을 이용하여 입력 벡터의 특징을 효과적으로 추출하고 복원한다. 본 논문에서는 CAPTCHA 이미지 중 하나의 숫자와 자연배경이 혼재된 영역을 대상으로 일련의 다양한 오토인코더 모델들을 적용하여 잡음인 자연배경을 제거하고 숫자 이미지만을 복원하는 방법들을 제시한다. 제시하는 복원 이미지의 적합성은 오토인코더의 출력을 입력으로 하는 소프트맥스 함수를 활성화 함수로 사용하여 검증하고, CAPTCHA 정보를 자동으로 획득하는 다른 방법들과 비교하여, 본 논문에서 제시하는 방법의 우수함을 검증하였다.

Background: Cigarette smoke (CS) is considered a principal cause of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and is associated with mucus hypersecretion and airway inflammation. Ginsenoside compound K (CK), a product of ginsenoside metabolism, has various biological activities. Studies on the effects of CK for the treatment of COPD and mucus hypersecretion, including the underlying signaling mechanism, have not yet been conducted. Methods: To study the protective effects and molecular mechanism of CK, phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA)-induced human airway epithelial (NCI-H292) cells were used as a cellular model of airway inflammation. An experimental mouse COPD model was also established via CS inhalation and intranasal administration of lipopolysaccharide. Mucin 5AC (MUC5AC), monocyte chemoattractant protein-1, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), and interleukin-6 secretion, as well as elastase activity and reactive oxygen species production, were determined through enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Inflammatory cell influx and mucus secretion in mouse lung tissues were estimated using hematoxylin and eosin and periodic acid-schiff staining, respectively. PKCδ and its downstream signaling molecules were analyzed via western blotting. Results: CK prevented the secretion of MUC5AC and TNF-α in PMA-stimulated NCI-H292 cells and exhibited a protective effect in COPD mice via the suppression of inflammatory mediators and mucus secretion. These effects were accompanied by an inactivation of PKCδ and related signaling in vitro and in vivo. Conclusion: CK suppressed pulmonary inflammation and mucus secretion in COPD mouse model through PKC regulation, highlighting the compound's potential as a useful adjuvant in the prevention and treatment of COPD.

Image binarization using a global threshold value [3] performs at high speed, but usually results in undesired binary images when the source images are of poor quality. In such cases, adaptive local thresholding algorithms [1][2][3] are used to obtain better results, and the algorithm proposed by A.E.Savekis which chooses local threshold using fore­ground and background clustering [1] is one of the best thresholding algorithms. However, this algorithm runs slowly due to its re-computing threshold value of each central pixel in a local window MxM. In this paper, we present a dynamic programming approach for the step of calculating local threshold value that reduces many redundant computations and improves the execution speed significantly. Experiments show that our proposal improvement runs more ten times faster than the original algorithm.

Present anticancer drugs in the clinical side have not showed a conclusive effect of the chemotherapy for cancer patients. In order to find much more efficient antitumor agents fromnatural resources, various screening methods vivo and in vitro have been developed by manyresearchers. The intention of this paper is to provide an outline of some background on the tumorsystem in drug development of natural products, to review some screening programs for theevaluation of antitumor activity and to introduce the practical procedures of some antitumorscreening methods in vivo and in vitro. At the end of this paper, the current literatures related toantitumor natural products from higher plants at our laboratory are described.Key words'anticancer drugs, screening methods.

Objective: The aim of this study is to get an optimal mental model by investigating user's natural behavior for controlling smart TV by mid-air gestures and to identify which factor is most important for controlling behavior. Background: A lot of TV companies are trying to find simple controlling method for complex smart TV. Although plenty of gesture studies proposing they could get possible alternatives to resolve this pain-point, however, there is no fitted gesture work for smart TV market. So it is needed to find optimal gestures for it. Method: (1) Eliciting core control scene by in-house study. (2) Observe and analyse 20 users' natural behavior as types of hand-held devices and control scene. We also made taxonomies for gestures. Results: Users' are trying to do more manipulative gestures than symbolic gestures when they try to continuous control. Conclusion: The most natural way to control smart TV on the remote with gestures is give user a mental model grabbing and manipulating virtual objects in the mid-air. Application: The results of this work might help to make gesture interaction guidelines for smart TV.
