The analog typed interface of main control room in nuclear power plant(NPP) is gradually being replaced to the one suitable for the digital environment. SKN 3,4 is currently developed in such a way to employ digitalized displays and controls such as computerized procedure system(CPS), large display panel(LDP), and Soft control. The main control room (MCR) of the SKN3, 4 was designed based on the human factors guidelines, which somehow lack of the confidence for the rapidly the developed guidelines needs to extend to the one to apply for the total digital environment including task environment, hardware and workstation. In order to achieve the research objectives, tremendous guidelines and technical papers related to evaluation issues of digital environment has been collected, analyzed and transformed to electric database forms and then built on database management system to retrieve the appropriate isues for the practical usage of evaluators-in-field.

Currently with the continuous development of ceramic and cementation materials, CAD-CAM(Computer-aided design/Computer-aided manufacture) restorations are becoming increasingly popular in esthetic dentistry. Preparation design is influenced by the selected restorative material, the fabrication method, and the ability to bond the restoration. For long-lasting CAD/CAM inlay/onlay restoration, clinicians should understand the basic knowledge of CAD/CAM restoration's cavity design to obtain the fracture resistance and proper fitting margin. This article gives an overview of preparation guidelines for CAD/CAM inlay/onlay restorations.

Objectives: This study reviews literature on health literacy and provides communication guidelines and policy implications for addressing health literacy for the Korean population. Methods: EBSCOHost, JSTOR, ProQuest, Web of Science, and PubMed were searched using the term "health literacy." The present study also reviewed reports and publications released by governments and healthcare agencies. Results: By reviewing existing articles and reports, the present study provides following suggestions : (a) implementation of a national health literacy survey on a regular basis, (b) development of tailored health literacy interventions for different target segments, (C) development of an appropriate model to evaluate the effectiveness of health literacy programs, and (d) development of health literacy guidelines for distributing health information and educating healthcare professionals. Conclusions: Health literacy issues must be addressed through establishment of appropriate policies and guidelines as well as collaboration between government and healthcare organizations.

The gesture 'Flick' is the most fundamental and important part for efficient interactions in the touch screen that are being extensively applied to mobile phones. This study investigated users' satisfaction of the flick operation in representative touch phones, and measured their performances with established three measures: gap between finger and initial cursor, the number of moved lists per 0.2 seconds, and the number of moved lists after ten continuous flicks. The measurement was performed with high speed camera and motion analysis software. The flick movement in mobile phone with high users' satisfaction showed that the gap between finger and cursor positions was less and the speed reached high within 0.6 seconds quickly and then was drastically slow down. Especially, maximal and common time intervals between continuous flicks were measured with an experiment. Based on the evaluation and measurement, several design guidelines for efficient flick performances were suggested.

The purpose of this study is to compare the standards and guidelines of long-term care facilities based on the physical environments and human resources in Korea, Japan, USA, and Australia. Ultimately, this study suggests the directions for amendments of long-term care service or running of the facilities in Korea. For achieving this purpose, we reviewed the homepage of national health departments, reports and articles of long-term care service, and acts related with long-term care in each country. This comparisons were carried in terms of physical environments, human resources by long-term care related acts and legal sanctions as means of quality control. This study implies that long-term care service guidelines or standards should be revised for developing the quality of our long-term care services.

This study makes an evaluation whether compliance on the web accessibility of domestic broadcasters site is observed to some degree. The compliance rate is estimated by six guidelines provided in KWA-H 4.0 automatically assessed tool. While the compliance rate of the broadcaster web accessibility is the highest in 'open new window' by 80.2% among six guidelines, the item of 'markup error prevention' demonstrated the lowest level by 36.2%.

Since the computer technology has been drastically developed and broadly employed for the design of human machine system, human system interface was somehow digitalized. Actually the operator's working environment employing the digital devices are not be fully digitalized due to its technical constraints so that it has been changed to the hybrid environment which has a combination of digital and analog elements. The hybrid environments need to study its characteristics and the guidelines for the proper design and evaluation purpose. This paper describes the human factor design elements of the console operated under hybrid environment through studying the characteristics of digital and analog environment based on the related human factor guidelines and literatures. The result of this paper implies the contribution to the evaluation of the generic human working environment which digital and analog elements are jointly used.

This provided a basic frame to analyze the investment effect on the road, railroad, airport and port as a national dimension but it still has a limitation to analyze the specific economic and financial validities to consider the characteristics of the traffic facilities within the area. Conclusively, the aims of this study provide the reasonable evaluation guidelines effectively to the local automatic groups, especially Chungju in the frame of the present evaluation guidelines. We provide the adaptive alternatives on the present systems which are difficult to adapt to the present investment evaluation guidelines; the estimation method of the social economic index and the estimation method of the traffic demand. Additionally, we discuss the research method of the passage actual state for a reasonable estimation of the traffic demand. The result of this study will be activated for the validity check and construction plan of the reasonable traffic investment plan of Chungju city.

Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) is a major cause of morbidity, of mortality, and of expenditure of medical resources. The etiology and antimicrobial susceptibility of CAP pathogens can differ by country. Treatment guidelines need to reflect the needs of individual countries based on pathogen susceptibility studies. Recent treatment guidelines for CAP in Korea were published by the Joint Committee of the Korean Academy of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases, the Korean Society for Chemotherapy, and the Korean Society of Infectious Diseases. In this article, the etiologies, diagnoses, treatments for CAP will be reviewed and compared to the recent published Korean guidelines for CAP treatment.

In the 1990's several economically important marine fisheries collapsed or showed signs of extreme hardship owing to overcapitalization and excessive fishing pressure on the resources. Public concern was raised and demands voiced for more prudent fishery management practices. The United Nations responded and developed international guidelines, such as the FAO Code of Conduct for Responsible Fishing and the UN Straddling Fish Socks and Highly Migratory Fish Stocks Agreement These guidelines task fishery managers to take prudent steps to ensure the long-term viability of fisheries and fishery resources. Included in the guidelines are two particular demands that will challenge stock assessment scientists in the new millennium. They are application of the precautionary approach and the inclusion of ecological considerations in assessments and management advice. High-lighted in the presentation are examples from the central-western Pacifi skipjack tuna fishery and the eastern Pacific thresher shark fishery where insufficien information is affecting stock assessments. The shortcomings are further linked t the new challenges of applying the precautionary approach, such as reference points, and ecological considerations, such as predator-prey and oceanographic-regime shift.(omitted)
