  • Wireless Sensor Networks is the technology which is used in explore role for military purposes, as well as various fields such as industrial equipment management, process management, and leverage available technologies by distributing node into various areas. but there are some limitations about energy, processing power, and memory storage capacity in wireless sensor networks environment, because of tiny hardware, so various routing protocols are proposed to overcome it. however existing routing protocols are very vulnerable in the intercommunication, because they focus on energy efficiency, and they can't use existing encryption for it, Because of sensor's limitations such like processing power and memory. Therefore, this paper propose mutual authentication scheme that prevent various security threats by using mutual authentication techniques and, Key generation and updating system as taking into account energy efficiency.

  • With the development of Internet, it is widely spreaded to a Intranet based on Internet technology. Intranet is a private, unique network to share the information of organization such as incorporate, research institute and university. With the increase of Intranet using, Intranet environment is developing into Extranet environment which is connected many Intranet. Currently such Intranet and Extranet environments, above all, it is important to solve security problems which can appear through use of information between domains. Thus, in this paper, we propose SSO(Single Sign-on System) model with authorization management and single sign-on operation, and we extend it to enable mutual authentication through inter-working based on PKI(Public Key Infrastructure) in Extranet environments.

  • The mutual cooperation among nodes is very important because mobile nodes participating in MANET communicate with limited resources and wireless environment. This characteristic is important especially in environment that supports group communication. In order to support the secure multicast environment, it is important enough to affect performance to provide accurate authentication method for multicast group members and increase the integrity of transmitted data. Therefore, we propose a technique to provide the multicast secure communication by providing efficient authentication and group key management for multicast member nodes in this paper. The cluster structure is used for authentication of nodes in the proposed technique. In order to efficient authentication of nodes, the reliability is measured using a combination of local trust information and global trust information measured by neighboring nodes. And issuing process of the group key has two steps. The issued security group key increases the integrity of the transmitted data. The superiority of the proposed technique was confirmed by comparative experiments.

  • The numerous improved schemes of user authentication based on password have been proposed in order to prevent the data access from the unauthorized person. The importance of user authentication has been remarkably growing in the expanding application areas of wireless sensor networks. Recently, emerging wireless sensor networks possesses a hierarchy among the nodes which are divided into cluster heads and sensor nodes. Such hierarchical wireless sensor networks have more operational advantages by reducing the energy consumption and traffic load. In 2012, Das et al. proposed a user authentication scheme to be applicable for the hierarchical wireless sensor networks. Das et al. claimed that their scheme is effectively secure against the various security flaws. In this paper, author will prove that Das et al.'s scheme is still vulnerable to man-in-the-middle attack, password guessing/change attack and does not support mutual authentication between the user and the cluster heads.

  • Wireless mesh networks (WMNs) provide an efficient and flexible method to the field of wireless networking, but also bring many security issues. A mesh point may lose all of its available links during its movement. Thus, the mesh point needs to handover to a new mesh point in order to obtain access to the network again. For multi-domain WMNs, we proposed a new ID-based signcryption scheme and accordingly present a novel ID-based handover protocol for mesh points. The mutual authentication and key establishment of two mesh points which belong to different trust domains can be achieved by using a single one-round message exchange during the authentication phase. The authentication server is not involved in our handover authentication protocol so that mutual authentication can be completed directly by the mesh points. Meanwhile, the data transmitted between the two mesh points can be carried by the authentication messages. Moreover, there are no restrictions on the PKG system parameters in our proposed multi-domain ID-based signcryption scheme so our handover scheme can be easily applied to real WMNs circumstances. Security of the signcryption scheme is proved in the random oracle model. It shows that our protocol satisfies the basic security requirements and is resistant to existing attacks based on the security of the signcryption. The analysis of the performance demonstrates that the protocol is efficient and suitable for the multi-domain WMNs environment.

  • Recently, Li and Hwang scheme proposed a biometrics-based remote user authentication scheme using smart card. It is asserted that this scheme has very excellent benefits by the operation cost efficiency based on the smart card, one-way function and biometrics using random numbers. But this scheme cannot provide the properly authentication, especially, it is analyzed as the vulnerable security scheme for Denial-of-Service(DoS) attacks by impersonate attacks. The attacker controls the insecure channel, they can easily fabricate messages to pass the user's or server's authentication, and the malicious attacker can impersonate the user to cheat the server and can impersonate the server to cheat the user without knowing any secret information. This paper proposes the strong improved scheme which can respond to multiple attacks by supplementing the function of integrity check from the server which applied variable authenticator and OSPA without exposing the user's password information. It is supplemented pregnable of disguise attack and mutual authentication of Li and Hwang scheme.

  • Wireless Body Area Networks is an environment that provides an appropriate service remotely by collecting user's biometric information. With the growing importance of sensor, WBAN also attracts extensive attention. Since WBAN is representatively used in the medical field, it can be directly related to the patient's life. Hence security is very important in WBAN. Mutual authentication between the client and the application provider is essential. And efficiency is also important because a used device is limited to computation cost. In this reason, ID-based anonymous authentication scheme in WBAN has been intensively studied. We show that the recent research result of Wu et al. which is about the ID-based anonymous authentication scheme is vulnerable to impersonation attack. And we propose a new ID-based anonymous authentication scheme that is secure against the attacks discovered in the existing schemes. Compared to the existing schemes, the computation cost of our scheme is improved by 30.6% and 7.3%.

  • IETF suggested AAA for safe and reliable user authentication on various network and protocol caused by development in internet and increase in users. Diameter standard authentication system does not provide mutual authentication and non-repudiation. AAA authentication system using public key was suggested to supplement such Diameter authentication but application in mobile service control nodes is difficult due to overhead of communication and arithmetic. ID based AAA authentication system was suggested to overcome such weak point but it still has the weak point against collusion attack or forgery attack. In this thesis, new ID based AAA authentication system is suggested which is safe against collusion attack and forgery attack and reduces arithmetic quantity of mobile nodes with insufficient arithmetic and power performance. In this thesis, cryptological safety and arithmetical efficiency is tested to test the suggested system through comparison and assessment of current systems. Suggested system uses two random numbers to provide stability at authentication of mobile nodes. Also, in terms of power, it provides the advantage of seamless service by reducing authentication executing time by the performance of server through improving efficiency with reduced arithmetic at nodes.

  • Although the PKl-based user authentication solution has been widely used, the security of it can be deteriorated by a simple password. This is because a long and random private key may be protected by a short and easy-to-remember password. To handle this problem, many biometric-based user authentication solutions have been proposed. However, protecting biometric data is another research issue because the compromise of the biometric data will be permanent. In this paper, we present an implementation to improve the security of the typical PKI-based authentication by protecting the private key with a fingerprint. Compared to the unilateral authentication provided by the typical biometric-based authentication, the proposed solution can provide the mutual authentication. In addition to the increased security, this solution can alleviate the privacy issue of the fingerprint data by conglomerating the fingerprint data with the private key and storing the conglomerated data in a user-carry device such as a smart card. With a 32-bit ARM7-based smart card and a Pentium 4 PC, the proposed fingerprint-based PKI authentication can be executed within 1.3second.
