밥 크로울리 무대디자인에 나타나는 시각적 은유에 관한 연구 - 뮤지컬 '아이다' 무대디자인을 중심으로 - (A Study on Visual Metaphors that appear in the Stage Design of Bob Crowley - Focused on the stage design of 'AIDA' -)

  • The main purpose of (the) performing arts is to efficiently communicate the themes and meanings which performances contain under limited time and place to the audience. Stage design should visually express play writer's scripts and director's interpretations of works, amid limitations. Although it is mostly designed metaphorically, in many cases, it is used only as a tool describing the background of performances but fails to effectively convey the true message of scenes to spectators. On the other hand, Bob Crowley has been recognized for his own design presentation skills to win 'Best Scenic Design of a Musical' of Tony Awards for six times and still exerts great influence on the musical and performing arts fields as a set designer. This study analyzes his reading of scripts and visual metaphor expressions, focusing on the musical, 'Aida' where the skills are mostly notable. To that end, we studied the concept of stage arts and theory of visual metaphoric expression to derive the features of his own technique in visual metaphor. Then, the features were applied to each scene of 'Aida' to see how they are displayed on stage. The result shows that Bob Crowley not only describes the background on stage, but also visualizes characters' personality and emotions in scenes. Such method of his expression is a proof to enhanced performance level by maximizing the atmosphere. Considering that a stage design should be based on the capacity of a designer to reinterpret the space with renewed viewpoints, visual metaphoric expression can serve as an effective tool to deliver clear messages to the audience under limited time and space, which is open to various methods of expressions.

  • Purpose: This study presents the findings of various research on human intelligence and Multiple Intelligence Theory and suggested the implications of Multiple Intelligence Theory-based approach to the nursing education for the ill children. Method: Research objectives were accomplished by conducting a literature review. The main areas of the literature review included the Multiple Intelligence Theory, and it's application case for the children with learning disorder. Results: Dissatisfaction with traditional IQ tests has led to the development of a number of alternative theories, all of which suggest that intelligence is the result of a number of independent abilities that uniquely contribute to human performance. Among them, Multiple Intelligences Theory led to break intelligence down into at least eight different components: logical, linguistic, spatial, musical, kinesthetic, naturalist, intra-personal and interpersonal intelligences. In addition, Multiple Intelligence Theory and it's application case believes that every topic can be effectively taught and achieved using six entry points framework. Conclusions: The educational implications of Multiple Intelligence Theory in view of the health education and education in the children's hospital school should be considered for the ill children2's better education in a hospital setting.

음악극적 특성이 강조된 고전영화 분석 -"바람과 함께 사라지다"의 사례를 중심으로 (Classical Hollywood Cinema with Music Theatre Features - in Reference to "Gone with the Wind" -)

  • "바람과 함께 사라지다"(1939년, 빅터 플레밍 감독)는 고전영화의 관습적 틀 안에서 제작되었으며 음악사용 역시 후기 낭만적 음악 스타일, 내러티브에의 종속, 감정적 지시, 연속성과 통일성 부여 등의 고전적 장르 영화의 규범을 상당 부분 준수한다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 비가시성, 불가청성 등으로 표현되는, 음악이 자신의 존재를 드러내지 않고 극에 맞추어 재단되어 숨겨져야 한다는 고전적 이론의 명제는 "바람과 함께 사라지다"의 음악 사용을 완전히 설명해주지는 못한다. 오히려 음악이 전면에 드러나거나 음악적 볼거리를 위해 이미지의 시간을 재단하는 등, 기존의 장르적 언더스코어의 관행보다는 음악을 우위에 두는 음악극적 특성을 두드러지게 발견할 수 있다. 서곡과 간주곡의 사용, 뮤지컬 영화들과의 유사성, 바그너 음악극의 영향, 노래를 통한 정보의 전달 등 음악극에서 볼 수 있는 음악적 장치들을 차용한 것을 볼 수 있다. 이런 장치들을 통해 숨어있는 언더스코어로서의 영화 음악이 아니라 음악적 볼거리를 풍부하게 하고 극의 전개를 견인하도록 음악을 보다 적극적으로 활용한 고전영화의 사례를 고찰하였다.

다중지능에 의한 부모-교사의 유아 잠재능력 평가간의 인식비교 연구 (Assessment by Parents and Teachers of Young Children's Potential Abilities Based on Multiple Intelligences Theory)

  • This research analyzed differences between parents and teachers in assessment of young children's potential abilities based on multiple intelligences theory. Subjects were 10 boys and 10 girls, 4 and 5 years of age and their parents and teachers. Children's potential abilities were measured by the Korean Project Spectrum(KPS) and by the assessments of parents and teachers. Data were analyzed by SPSS. Statistical methods were Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, t-test, and Pearson's and Spearman's correlations. Results revealed differences between the assessments of parents and of teachers. While teacher assessments were very similar to the results of the KPS on logical mathematical and linguistic intelligence, the results of parents' assessments were different from the results of the KPS on musical, interpersonal-intrapersonal, and naturalistic intelligence.

건축에서 리듬 개념의 수용과 전승에 관한 연구 - 19-20세기 독일어권의 건축이론을 중심으로 - (A Study of the Reception and Development of the Concept of Rhythm in the History of Architectural Theory -19th and 20th Century German Architectural Theory-)

  • Historically, rhythm has played a key role not only in musical composition, but also in architectural design. In 1893, architectural theorist and art scholar August Schmarsow, in "The Essence of Architectural Creation," created a new definition of architecture as space-creation and characterized rhythm as a design principle. However, this new idea was confronted by Heinrich Wölfflin. While Schmarsow's theory represents a dynamic world-view based on anthropomorphism, the architectural theory of Wölfflin is based on the notion of harmony, displaying a kind of conservative stasis. These two main streams have greatly influenced the development of modern architecture. The concept of space has prevailed in the discourse of modern architecture, but the principle of rhythm has seldom received any positive recognition. This article introduces and develops the concept of rhythm and disputes whether Behrens and Frankl in particular, two who dispute Schmarsow's theories, have used the concept of rhythm in terms of space. I conclude that they could not overcome the notion of the physical-the body-, thus their use of the term rhythm is incongruous with the notion of space. The idea of rhythm in architectural creation remains an up and coming idea.

Understanding of Holding Environment Through the Trajectory of Donald Woods Winnicott

  • Personal life and achievements are the process and result of a person's past, present, and future interacting with each other. In this regard, if one fully understands the life and background of the person who developed the theory of psychoanalysis, one can understand and use the theory more appropriately. The holding environment theory developed by Donald Woods Winnicott is useful for understanding the process by which infants grow healthy under the care of a mother who is good enough. In this paper, the background of the birth of the holding environment theory is reviewed based on Winnicott's developmental background and marital life. He grew up with a holding environment from good enough 'multiple mothers'. Born with excellent athletic ability and musical talent, he was more curious than anyone else and particularly active in discovering new things. After the unhappy first marriage, Claire Britton's second marriage was happy academically and personally. Claire was a fellow paediatric psychoanalyst who published Winnicott's research and theories after his death. Psychoanalysis or psychotherapy itself can be a holding environment, and the holding environment theory can be applied to various fields in the digital era.

Methods : Searching the records, papers, documents and analyzing. Results and Conclusions : Sasang Constitutional Medicine Theory is organized with Taeyang, Taeum, Soyang, Soum. Eight Constitution is classified mokyang, Mokum, Toyang, Toum, Keumyang, Keumum, Suyang, Suum. and Five Elements Constitution is explained to Yin Yang and Five Elements.

한국 뮤지컬 음악 교육의 나아갈 방향, 대학 교육을 중심으로 (Direction of Korean Musical Education, focused on the University Education)

  • 한국 뮤지컬 산업의 급성장으로 그에 따른 전문 인력 배출의 필요성과 교육 기관의 양적, 질적 증대가 대두 되고 있다. 예술 교육의 커리큘럼은 학교 교육을 통해 예술가의 자기성장과 자아실현이 구현 될 수 있도록 구성되어 있다. 이것은 단순히 예술이 기술만 갖고 해결 할 수 있는 분야가 아니라 이론, 교양 과목의 통합 교육을 통해 자신이 표현 하고자 하는 것을 명확히 전달하고 소통 할 수 있기 때문이다. 한국 뮤지컬 음악 교육 또한 근시안 적인 유행이나 순간의 대학 경쟁률을 높이는 교과목들의 나열 보다는 깊이 있는 배우를 배출하기 위한 양질의 콘텐츠를 제공하도록 노력 하여야 한다. 또한 학교 교육을 받은 후 사회에 나가는 것이 결코 뒤처지는 것이 아니라 이론과 실기를 겸비한 깊이 있는 배우로서 성장 할 수 있는 지름길이라는 신뢰를 주도록 해야 할 것이다. 그러기 위해서는 대학마다 대학 입시와 커리큘럼, 졸업 후 활동 방안에 대해 연계성을 갖고 올바른 비전과 관통선을 제시하는 체계적인 운영이 필요하다. 결과적으로 좋은 배우들의 배출로 대학 경쟁력도 높아질 것이며 더 나아가 뮤지컬 산업의 질적 향상도 이루어 질 수 있으리라 기대한다.

Csound를 이용한 음악 프로그래밍 언어 제작 (Music Programming Language Composition Using Csound)

  • 본 논문은 Csound 프로그래밍 언어에 대한 발전된 학술 연구 혹은 독창적인 학술 아이디어를 탐구하기에 앞서, 현재 한국에서는 학술적 연구나 소개가 전혀 이루어지지 않은 Csound 음악 프로그래밍 언어를 누구도 쉽게 접근할 수 있도록 체계화된 이론을 정립하고 보급하기 위해 제안한 것이다. Csound는 세계적인 컴퓨터 음악음향 제작 프로그래밍 언어이며, 세계적으로 유명한 사운드 디자이너들이 이용하는 전문적인 텍스트 기반 소프트웨어 신디사이저로, 1985년 M.I.T. Media Lab의 Barry Vercoe에 의해 개발되었다. 본 본문은 서양 전통음악의 역사적인 관점에서 음악과 자연의 소리 혹은 특정 매체로부터 발생되는 소리와의 결합시기를 전자음악과 음악음향 제작의 출발점으로 제시하였다. 그리고 기초적인 Csound의 작동원리를 서술하고. 이를 기초로 Csound를 이용한 음악 프로그래밍의 적용예를 제시하였으며, 결론에서는 본 논문의 연구 목표와 앞으로의 연구 과제를 서술하였다.

비만의 3가지 병기(病機)에 따른 한방음악치료의 적용에 관한 소고(小考) (The Study on Treatment of Obesity by Oriental Medicine Music Therapy)

  • The purpose of this study is to introduce oriental medicine music therapy related to the treatment of obesity. Obesity is caused by deficiency of the spleen, retention of phlegm, stagnation of liver Gi. According to the patients' state, the musical instruments should be chosen. In case of deficiency of the spleen, retention of phlegm, and stagnation of liver Gi, the obese patients beat pulsatile instruments to Earth-Gi rhythm, Fire-Gi rhythm, and Wood-Gi rhythm respectively. In addition to beating the musical instrument to the Five Phases rhythm, an oral sound therapy, relieving constraint therapy, and dispersing therapy can be performed. This study describes the theory of oriental medicine music therapy that has a good possibility as a new method of oriental medical treatment. It is necessary to study in measuring the effects after oriental medicine music therapy from now on.
