인터랙티브한 애니메이션 캐릭터 제작을 위한 인공지능 미들웨어 설계 (A Design of AI Middleware for Making Interactive Animation Characters)

  • 대부분의 디자이너는 3DS MAX와 같은 전문 3D 애니메이션 저작도구를 사용하여 수작업으로 애니메이션을 제작한다. 이 방법은 많은 시간과 노력을 필요로 하며, 애니메이션 캐릭터들이 서로 상호작용 할 수 없다. 이를 개선하기 위해, 본 논문에서는 3DS MAX플러그인 형태의 인공지능 미들웨어를 설계하고 미들웨어에 필요한 인공지능 표현 구조와 내부 처리 방안을 제안한다. 제안 방법은 캐릭터가 보유할 인공지능 요소를 도형과 선분으로 그려 표현하는 방법으로 캐릭터의 인공지능 구조를 제작한다. 실험을 위해 기존 방법과, 제안하는 방법을 사용하여 동일한 애니메이션을 제작하고 작업량을 측정하였다. 실험 결과 소규모 작업에서는 기존의 방법과 비슷하거나 작업량이 많으나, 대규모의 작업에서는 기존 방법에 비해 최대 43%의 작업량 감소를 확인하였다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법을 사용하면, 애니메이션에서 캐릭터간의 상호작용이 가능하며 작업량 감소 효과를 얻을 수 있다.

  • MTP(Muti-grade Tutoring Project)는 공학계열 학생들이 완성도 높은 프로젝트 수행에 필요한 팀워크와 전공기술을 함양하기 위하여 개발된 이공계 교과과목 개발 모델이다. 학습자는 3년간 1,2,3학년으로 구성된 1년 단위 다학년 팀프로젝트에서 튜터와 튜티의 역할을 수행한다. 이러한 과정을 통하여 자신의 비젼을 스스로 설정하고, 선후배간의 커뮤니케이션 채널을 활성화함으로써 인적 네트워크를 형성하여 졸업 후 취업에 지원을 받을 수 있으며 현장에 적응도를 높일 수 있고, 졸업학년도에는 보다 완성도 높은 졸업 프로젝트를 수행할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 MTP 교과목을 통하여 경험하는 학습 성장과정을 스스로 관리 개발할 수 있는 MTP e포트폴리오 평가 모형을 제시하였다. 특히 참여자, 학습상의 변화, 과정의 3 차원으로 기술한 평가절차 모형구조는 다학년 학생이 수행하는 프로젝트에 협동교수가 보조하는 과정에서 수업이 역동적이고 활성화 되어질 수 있는 도구로써 활용될 것이다.

Latest Information Technologies in the UK Adults Education System

  • Today, further education of adults in the UK is one of the developing areas of continuing education. The Open University with distance learning, in the process of which innovative forms and methods based on computer and telecommunication technologies are used, is particularly successful in the organization of additional education of the adult population. The advantages of distance learning, multimedia - the latest information technologies, which provide the combination of graphic images, video, sound with the help of modern computer tools, are noted. The basic principles and forms underlying the technologies and forms of work with the elderly are defined. The international experience of implementing "Universities of the Third Age" is summarized. The most widespread approach in adult education in Great Britain is informational. The use of computer technologies motivates a new paradigm in educational methods and strategies, which requires new approaches, forms of learning, and innovative ways of delivering educational materials to adult learners. Information technologies have gained great popularity in such activities as distance learning, online learning, assistance in the education management system, development of programs and virtual textbooks in various subjects, online search for information for the educational process, computer testing of students' knowledge, creation of electronic libraries, formation of a single scientific electronic environment, publication of virtual magazines and newspapers on pedagogical topics, teleconferences, expansion of international cooperation in the field of Internet education. The information technology of synchronous distance learning "online" has gained considerable popularity in the educational process today. A promising direction is the use of multimedia technologies in educational activities to create a design of a virtual computer environment by decoding audiovisual information.

MSRP를 이용한 M2M 플랫폼 구조 (M2M Network Platform Using the MSRP)

  • M2M(Machine to Machine) 통신은 사람이 직접적으로 간섭하지 않더라도, 네트워크 통신을 경유하여 비즈니스 응용프로그램과 장치가 서로 의사소통을 수행한다. 본 논문에서 수행한 연구의 목적은 IMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem) 기반의 M2M 수평 서비스 플랫폼을 이용하여, M2M 게이트웨이를 사용하는 IMS 네트워크 코어를 통해 M2M 장치와 M2M AS(Application server)를 연결하는 것이다. IMS는 모바일 사용자에게 IP 멀티미디어 서비스를 제공하기 위해 3rd Partnership Project (3GPP)의 무선 표준기구가 정의한 아키텍처 프레임 워크이다. 본 논문에는 MSRP를 이용한 IMS기반의 수평적 M2M 네트워크 서비스 플랫폼의 설계와 구현이 기술되어 있다. 그리고 프로토콜과 기본 아키텍쳐를 요약하였으며, 아키텍쳐의 호출 흐름과 각 프로세스에서의 작동 요소, 아키텍쳐의 설계에 관한 자세한 설명을 제공한다. 또한, 제안하는 플랫폼의 설계와 구현 과정, 사용된 각각의 도구, 구성 요소의 선택과 그것의 중요성에 관한 설명이 서술되어 있다. 또한, M2M 게이트웨이, M2M 응용 프로그램 서버, 오픈 IMS 코어, 비즈니스 응용 프로그램과 M2M 장치를 설계하고 구현하는 방법을 설명한다.

멀티미디어 프로그램을 활용한 성교육의 효과 - 초등학교 6학년을 중심으로 - (The Effect of Sex Education Using Multimedia Program - Focusing on Elementary School Sixth-Grade -)

  • The purpose of this study were to suggest the method of sex education by designing and implementing multimedia program about sex education, to search the efficiency between a teaching using multimedia program and a teaching of traditional method. To put above aims into practice, these were required : 1. are there any differences in the alteration of sex attitude according to teaching methods. 2. are there any differences in the completion of sex knowledge according to teaching methods. 3. are there any differences in the alteration of sex attitude according to learning level and teaching methods. 4. are there any differences in the completion of sex knowledge according to learning level and teaching methods. 5. are there any differences in the alteration of sex attitude according to sex and teaching methods. 6. are there any differences in the completion of sex knowledge according to sex and teaching methods. To carry out a reseach for this purpose, the subjects for this study were 160 sixth grade students from 2 elementary schools in Pu-Chun, Kyung Ki. The tools for study were two kind of questionnaires: sex knowledge test, sex attitude test. Each test consists of 20 items. Collected data was analysed with t-test by means of SPSS program. The main results of this study are as follow: 1. The Alteration of sex attitude according to teaching methods. There was a significant difference among teaching methods(P<.001). a teaching using multimedia program was more efficient than a teaching of traditional method in the alteration of sex attitude. 2. The Completion of sex knowledge according to teaching methods. There was a significant difference among teaching methods(P<.001). a teaching using multimedia program was more efficient than a teaching of traditional method in the completion of sex knowledge. 3. The Alteration of sex attitude according to learning level and teaching methods. There was a significant difference among teaching methods in the superior class. a teaching using multimedia program was more efficient than a teaching of traditional method in the alteration of sex attitude(P<.001). However, there was not a significant difference among teaching methods in the inferior class(P>.05). 4. The Completion of sex knowledge according to learning level and teaching methods. There was a significant difference among teaching methods in the superior class. a teaching using multimedia program was more efficient than a teaching of traditional method in the completion of sex knowledge(P<.001). Also, there was a significant difference among teaching methods in the inferior class. a teaching using multimedia program was more efficient than a teaching of traditional method in the completion of sex knowledge(P<.001). 5. The Alteration of sex attitude according to sex and teaching methods. There was a significant difference among teaching methods in the man class. a teaching using multimedia program was more efficient than a teaching of traditional method in the alteration of sex attitude(P<.01). However, There was not a significant difference among teaching methods in the woman class(P>.05). 6. The Completion of sex knowledge according to sex and teaching methods. There was a significant difference among teaching methods in the man class. a teaching using multimedia program was more efficient than a teaching of traditional method in the completion of sex knowledge(P<.001). Also, there was a significant difference among teaching methods in the woman class. a teaching using multimedia program was more efficient than a teaching of traditional method in the completion of sex knowledge(P<.05).

  • 전자상거래분야는 시공간을 넘은 소비자의 취향 및 요구에 따라 보다 효율적인 서비스 지원을 위하여 급속히 변화되고 있다. 이는 오프라인 매장 중심의 판매활동인 촉각이 우선 되던 패턴에서 벗어나 시각이 우선 되는 것을 의미한다. 따라서 소비자의 다양한 욕구에 부응하고 이에 맞는 컨텐츠의 개발을 통한 쇼핑몰의 구축으로 물품구매까지 연결시킬 수 있어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 포토샵, 일러스트레이터등을 사용하여 상품 컨텐츠를 보다 시각화하여 게시함으로서 구매자로 하여금 깨끗하고 산뜻한 이미지를 나타내고, 쇼핑 물품에 대하여 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 하여 구매욕구를 증가시키도록 하였다. 이러한 적용결과는 쇼핑몰 방문자들로부터 쇼핑을 컨텐츠의 이미지에 대한 느낌을 설문조사를 통하여 그 반응을 살펴봄으로서, 다양한 이미지 효과들이 쇼핑몰의 이미지에 많은 영향이 있음을 보였다.

  • In this paper, we describe implementation of 32-Bit RISC Core for portable communication/information equipment, such as cellular telephones and personal digital assistants, notebook, etc. The RISC core implements the ARM$\^$R/V4 instruction set on the basis of low power techniques in architecture level and logic level. It operates with 5-stage pipeline, and has harvard architecture to increase execution speed. The processor is modeled and simulated in RTL level using VHDL. Behavioral Cache and MMU are added to the VHDL model for instruction level verification of the processor. The core is implemented using Mentor P'||'&'||'R tools with IDEC C-631 Cell library of 0.6$\mu\textrm{m}$ CMOS 1-poly 3-metal CMOS technology.

  • This paper describes design and verification of the motion estimation and compensation unit using full search algorithm. Video processor is the key device of video communication systems. Motion estimation is the key module of video processor. The technologies of motion estimation and compensation unit are the core technologies for wireless video telecommunications system, portable multimedia systems. In this design, Verilog simulator and logic synthesis tools are used for hardware design and verification. In this paper, motion estimation and compensation unit are designed using FPGA, coded in Verilog HDL, and simulated and verified using Xilinx FPGA.

  • It is not practically feasible to apply hardware-based fault-tolerant schemes, such as hardware replication, in mobile devices. Therefore, software-based fault-tolerance techniques, such as checkpoint and rollback schemes, are required. In checkpoint and rollback schemes, the optimal checkpoint interval should be applied to obtain the best performance. Most previous studies focused on minimizing the expected execution time or response time for completing a given task. Currently, most mobile applications run in real-time environments. Therefore, it is extremely essential for mobile devices to employ optimal checkpoint intervals as determined by the real-time constraints of tasks. In this study, we tackle the problem of determining the optimal inter-checkpoint interval of checkpoint and rollback schemes to maximize the deadline meet ratio in real-time systems and to build a probabilistic cost model. From this cost model, we can numerically find the optimal checkpoint interval using mathematical tools. The performance of the proposed solution is evaluated using analytical estimates.

하이퍼텍스트상의 Local Map 구조에 대한 사용편의성 평가 (Usability evaluation of the local map structures on a hypertext)

  • Use of a hypertext is growing as multimedia and hypermedia systems become popular. The major difference between hypertext-based and ordinary user interfaces is navigation. Typically, there are two major navigation problems in a hypertext compared to the ordinary user interface: "Disorientation" and "Cognitive Overload". To reduce or eliminate these problems of the hypertext system, a variety of aiding tools have been proposed. Among them, a local map is a good tool for helping users navigate through screens, especially for a large and complex system. This study examined three major design variables of a local map in a hypertext: breadth, depth, and functionality of a map. A human factors experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of these variables. Based upon the results of the experiment, design guidelines are suggested.
