생체신호 습득과 건강 모니터링을 위한 스마트 헬스케어 의복 개발 (Development of Smart Healthcare Wear System for Acquiring Vital Signs and Monitoring Personal Health)

  • Recently, the wearable computing technology with bio-sensors has been rapidly developed and utilized in various areas such as personal health, care-giving for senior citizens who live alone, and sports activities. In particular, the wearable computing equipment to measure vital signs by means of digital yarns and bio sensors is noticeable. The wearable computing devices help users monitor and manage their health in their daily lives through the customized healthcare service. In this paper, we suggest a system for monitoring and analyzing vital signs utilizing smart healthcare clothing with bio-sensors. Vital signs that can be continuously acquired from the clothing is well-known as unstructured data. The amount of data is huge, and they are perceived as the big data. Vital sings are stored by Hadoop Distributed File System(HDFS), and one can build data warehouse for analyzing them in HDFS. We provide health monitoring system based on vital sings that are acquired by biosensors in smart healthcare clothing. We implemented a big data platform which provides health monitoring service to visualize and monitor clinical information and physical activities performed by the users.

FOREX Web-Based Trading Platform with E-Learning Features

  • There has been an influx of traders and researchers eager to gain a better understanding of the market due to the rapid growth of the FOREX market. Traders with varying degree of experience are also often inundated with information, analysis methods as well as trading rules when making a trading decision on buying/selling a currency exchange pair. Thus, this paper reviews the current computational tools and analysis methods used within the FOREX trading community and proposes the development of a web-based trading platform with e-learning features to support beginners. Novice traders could also benefit from the use of the proposed e-learning trading platform as it helps them gain valuable knowledge and navigate the FOREX market in real-time. Even experienced traders would find it useful as the platform could be used for actual trading and acts as a reference point to understand the reasoning behind the certain technical analysis implementation that are still unclear to them.

차선 추적을 이용한 환경변화에 강인한 차선 검출 방법 (A Method of Lane Marker Detection Robust to Environmental Variation Using Lane Tracking)

  • Lane detection is a key function in developing autonomous vehicle technology. In this paper, we propose a lane marker detection algorithm robust to environmental variation targeting low cost embedded computing devices. The proposed algorithm consists of two phases: initialization phase which is slow but has relatively higher accuracy; and the tracking phase which is fast and has the reliable performance in a limited condition. The initialization phase detects lane markers using a set of filters utilizing the various features of lane markers. The tracking phase uses Kalman filter to accelerate the lane marker detection processing. In a tracking phase, we measure the reliability of the detection results and switch it to initialization phase if the confidence level becomes below a threshold. By combining the initialization and tracking phases we achieved high accuracy and acceptable computing speed even under a low cost computing resources in which we cannot use the computing intensive algorithm such as deep learning approach. Experimental results show that the detection accuracy is about 95% on average and the processing speed is about 20 frames per second with Raspberry Pi 3 which is low cost device.

  • Sustainable computing is a rapidly expanding field of research covering the fields of multidisciplinary engineering. With the rapid adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, issues such as security, privacy, efficiency, and green computing infrastructure are increasing day by day. To achieve a sustainable computing ecosystem for future smart cities, it is important to take into account their entire life cycle from design and manufacturing to recycling and disposal as well as their wider impact on humans and the places around them. The energy efficiency aspects of the computing system range from electronic circuits to applications for systems covering small IoT devices up to large data centers. This editorial focuses on the security, privacy, and efficiency of sustainable computing for future smart cities. This issue accepted 17 articles after a rigorous review process.

  • Recently, artificial intelligence techniques have been widely used in the computer science field, such as the Internet of Things, big data, cloud computing, and mobile computing. In particular, resource management is of utmost importance for maintaining the quality of services, service-level agreements, and the availability of the system. In this paper, we review and analyze various ways to meet the requirements of cloud resource management based on artificial intelligence. We divide cloud resource management techniques based on artificial intelligence into three categories: fog computing systems, edge-cloud systems, and intelligent cloud computing systems. The aim of the paper is to propose an intelligent resource management scheme that manages mobile resources by monitoring devices' statuses and predicting their future stability based on one of the artificial intelligence techniques. We explore how our proposed resource management scheme can be extended to various cloud-based systems.

  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅은 컴퓨터 시스템의 물리적인 공간을 확장시켰으며, 보다 동적인 분산 시스템으로 이끌었다. 이러한 환경에서는 다양한 디바이스와 자원 그리고 사용자 요구사항에 대한 새로운 QoS 파라미터가 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에 적합한 정적 QoS 파라미터와 동적 QoS 파라미터를 정의한 새로운 하이브리드 QoS 관리 모델을 제안하였다. 제안한 시스템 구성은 분산된 형태로 종단간 QoS 제어 및 관리할 수 있도록 클라이언트 측에는 QoS 제어 관리를 위한 모듈(QoS CMM), 서버 측에 QoS 관리 모듈(QoS MM), 그리고 중앙형 QoS 제어 및 관리를 위한 자원 QoS 관리 모듈(RQoS MM)을 구성하였다. 정적 QoS 파라미터는 자원 QoS 관리 모듈에서 처리하며, 동적 QoS 파라미터에 대한 전체적인 QoS 제어는 QoS CMM에 의해 다자간 통신의 경우에 서버 측의 부담을 최소화 시킬 수 있도록 하였다. 끝으로, 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스를 통해 위치 기반 애플리케이션으로 클라이언트 단말형태인 데스크탑 PC, 노트북, PDA에 따른 멀티미디어 서비스 수행 결과 화면을 보였다.

  • 브로드캐스트 암호화 기법은 공개된 네트워크상에서 멀티미디어, 소프트웨어, 유료 TV 등의 디지털 정보들을 전송하는데 적용되고 있다. 사용자가 디지털 정보를 획득하기 위해서는 브로드캐스터가 키를 생성하고 분배하는 과정이 필요하며, 사용자가 탈퇴나 새로운 가입 시에 효율적인 키 갱신이 필요하게 된다. 임시적인 컨퍼런스 환경은 각 이동 디바이스들 사이에 대하여 전송이 가능하고, 잦은 위치 변화에 따라 키 정보가 유동적으 로 변하는 특성으로 인해 키 관리의 어려움이 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 임베디드 컴퓨팅 환경에 적용하여 특정한 공간에서 이동 디바이스가 이용될 때 효율적인 키 생성과 키 갱신을 하도록 제안한다.

A Proposal of Programmable Logic Architecture for Reconfigurable Computing

  • Reconfigurable computing is a new computing paradigm which has more potential in terms of performance and flexibility. Reconfigurable computing systems are opening a new era in digital signal processing such as multimedia, communication and consumer electronics because they can filter data rapidly and excel at pattern recognition, image process- ing and encryption. Although many reconfigurable computing systems use a conventional programmable device, they carry several serious problems to be solved. This paper proposes a logic block architecture of programmable device suit-able for the reconfigurable computing. Compared to conventional logic blocks, our logic block can improve implementation density, efficiency and speed.
