  • The structure and magnetic properties of Fe-Ni-N/Cu multilayered films, prepared by the DC magnetron sputter, as a function of different thicknesses of Fe-Ni-N ($t_{FeNiN}$) and Cu ($t_Cu$) layers have been studied by the methods of x-ray diffraction and measurement of magnetic moment. It has been found that the enhancement of (200) orientation in Fe-Ni-N layers is observed at the ratio of layer thickness with about $t_{FeNiN}/t_{Cu}$ $\underline{\simeq}$ 3.75. The reduction of magnetization due to the formation of interdiffusion near the interface is explained by means of the dead layer model. The temperature dependence of magnetization exhibits the feature of Blochs $T^{\frac{2}{3}}$ law. The layer thickness dependence of Curie temperature has been discussed by critical temperature theory of Heisenberg model.

  • $WC-Ti_{1}$ -xA $l_{x}$ N multilayered coatings are performed by their periodically repeated structures of lamellae of WC-Ti/$WC-Ti_{1}$ -xA $l_{x}$ Nmaterials. The $WC-Ti_{1}$ -xA $l_{x}$ N coatings with variable Al content were deposited onto AISI D2 steel by cathodic arc deposition (CAD) method. The electrochemical behavior of multilayered $WC-Ti_{1}$ -xA $l_{x}$ N coatings with different phases (WC- Ti$0.6/Al_{0.4}$ N, $WC-Ti_{0.53}$$Al_{0.47}$N, $WC-Ti_{0.5}$ $Al_{0.5}$ N and $WC-Ti_{ 0.43}$$Al_{0.57}$ N) was investigated in deaerated 3.5% NaCl solution at room temperature. The corrosion behaviors for the multilayered coatings were investigated by electrochemical techniques (potentiodynamic polarization) and surface analyses (X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and glow discharge optical emission spectroscopy (GDOES)). In the petentiodynamic polarization test, the corrosion current density of $WC-Ti_{0.5}$$Al_{0.5}$N was lower than others.

  • In order to prepare a epoxy/multilayered silicate nanocomposite, various mixing processes were tried and it was found that the silicate could not be fully exfoliated in the epoxy matrix through various mechanical mixing process. In this study, a new AC electric application method was developed to prepare epoxy/multilayered silicate nanocomposite. The exfoliation of the silicate was confirmed by XRD (X-Ray Diffraction) and TEM observation.

  • The scattered electric field from a multilayered circular dielectric cylinder is caculated. Approximate boundary condition used in on-surface radiation boundary condition(OSRC) method has been applied to all the boundary surface of N-layered dielectric cylinder. It was assumed that scattered electric field at inner boundary surface in one region transmitted to the adjacent region at outer boundary surface. In the whole region, the unknown coefficients of electric field are acquired by the given incident electric field with ease. Electric field distribution at each boundary surface and the scattered electric field in free space are taken with the calculated unknown coefficients. the results obtainted were compared with those results that were used by regular surface boundary condition.

  • In this papaer, the input impedance of the rectangular microstrip patch antennas with the multilayered structure is analysed by using the moment method technique in the spectral domain. The analysis is carried out for two different feeding structures : directfeeding structure and electromagnetic-feeding structure. In order to obtain the accurate input impedance, the current distribution on the microstrip feed line is modeled by the quasi-TEM travelling wave and the PWS(piecewise sinusoidal) mode. The input impedances of the designed microstrip antennas are measured and compared with the calculation. which shows a good agreement.

  • This study presents dynamic analysis of laminated beams traversed by moving loads using a multilayered beam element based on the first-order shear deformation theory. The present element consists of N layers with different thickness and material property, and has (3N + 7) degrees of freedom corresponding three axial, four transversal, and 3N rotational displacements. Delamination and interfacial slip are not allowed. Comparisons with analytical and/or numerical results available in literature for some illustrative examples are made. Numerical results for natural frequencies, deflections and stresses of laminated beams are given to explain the effect of load speed, lamina layup, and boundary conditions.

  • A simple plane-strain solution is derived in this paper for the functionally graded multilayered isotropic elastic cylinder under static deformation. The solution is obtained using method of separation of variables and is expressed in terms of the summation of the Fourier series in the circumferential direction. While the solution for order n = 0 corresponds to the axisymmetric deformation, that for n = 2 includes the special deformation frequently utilized in the upper and lower bounds analysis. Numerical results for a three-phase cylinder with a middle functionally graded layer are presented for both axisymmetric (n = 0) and general (n = 2) deformations, under either the traction or displacement boundary conditions on the surface of the layered cylinder. The solution to the general deformation case (n = 2) is further utilized for the first time to find the upper and lower bounds of the effective shear modulus of the layered cylinder with a functionally graded middle layer. These results could be useful in the future study of cylindrical composites where FGMs and/or multilayers are involved.

  • Co/Pd multilayered thin films with various ratios of Co sublayers to Pd sublayers(nCo/nPd = 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 5/4) were fabricated at different substrate temperatures($R.\;T.,\;100,\;150,\;200\;^{\circ}C$) with the conventional vacuum evaporation method, and their Hall voltage hysteresis curves were measured. These Hall curves were decomposed on the basis of the superpose of the transverse Hall effect term from the magnetizations of Co and Pd sublayers and the magnetoresistivity term, by the optimal fitting method. In the results, both of the ferromagnetic and anti ferromagnetic states coexisted through whole samples, and the uniaxial or unidirectional easy axis type Hall hysteresis curves occured were dependent upon the effects of the exchange anisotropy between both magnetic states and the domain wall pinning by the antiferromagnet inclusions.
