This paper proposes a novel multicasting algorithm, called ANMAS (Ad hoc Network Multicasting with Ant System), for Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET). The algorithm utilizes the indirect communication method of the ants via 'pheromone' to effectively obtain dynamical topology change information, generating safer multicasting paths, and adapts the well-known CBT (Core Based Tree) multicasting algorithm into the ANMAS framework with proper modificiations to make 'tolerable' multicasting group in the MANET environment. We show the efficiency and the effectiveness of ANMAS via simulation studies.

In this paper, for analysing the major factors giving the effect to the quality of HD level video on the multicasting service, we tried this test experiment on the College school network similar to the real service network environment. We measure the video quality distortion on the multicasting HD level video according to generating and increasing the broadcasting traffic on the situation that apply the QoS technique to the test network and not apply the QoS technique and then find out the threshold value of network factors giving the effect to the video quality distortion on the multicasting HD level video service. This paper can be used for guaranteeing the constant video quality and reducing the video quality distortion on the multicasting HD level video service.

본 논문에서는 최소 비용 신장 트리(minimum cost spanning tree를 기반으로 최적 경로를 지원할 수 있는 새로운 멀티케스트 경로 배정 알고리즘을 제안하였다 본 논문에서 제안한 MCSTOP(Multicasting Path Assignment using the MInimum Cost Spanning Tree and the Optimum Path Generation) 알고리즘은 송신 노드나 이미 선정된 노드의 하위 노드들 중에서 새로운 그룹의 수신 노드가 발견되면 우선적으로 멀티캐스트 경로를 배정하는 방법을 적용하였다. 새로운 그룹의 멀티캐스트 배정과정에서 새로운 그룹의 수신 노드들 사이에 타 그룹의 노드가 발생될 수 있다. 이러한 경우가 발생되면, MCSTOP 알고리즘에서는 새로운 그룹의 송신 노드와 수신 노드가 동일한 네트워크 영역(예. LAN 영역)과 치수 제한조건이 만족되면 새로운 가상 경로를 생성하여 최적 경로를 배정하도록 하였다. MCSTOP 알고리즘은 가상 경로로 설정된 노드들 사이에 존재하는 타 그룹 노드가 네트워크에서 탈퇴하여도 영향을 받지 않게 되므로, 새로운 그룹에 대한 멀티캐스트 경로의 재구성을 최소화 시킬 수 있었다. 또한, 검증 결과 MCSTOP알고리즘은 멀티 캐스트 배정 경로를 위한 계산시간, 통신비용 그리고 데이터 전달지연시간 등이 CST(Constrained Steiner Tree) 알고리즘보다 성능 향상을 보였다. 추후 연구 사항으로는 데이터 회의를 지원하기 위한 그룹 통신 프로토콜로써 ITU-TT.120 시리즈의 MCS(Multipoint Communication Service)와 같은 국제 표준 프로토콜에 적용하기 위한 연구가 필요하다.

MBone and CU-SeeMe are notable systems, and are introduced here as examples of the multicasting systems on the Internet. They are available globally now, and numerous applications are appearing on these systems and others.

An external optical modulation using absorption s in a Fabry-Perot laser diode (FP-LD), has been proposed and experimentally demonstrated for multicasting in a WDM-PON. The center wavelengths of absorption s in an FP-LD move to short-wavelength rapidly by only a small current (~1 mA) injection. If the current injection is stopped, the s move back to the original position. Such a movement of the s can make the FP-LD act as an external optical modulator, which is found to modulate at a maximum modulation speed of 800 Mbps or more. For a multicasting transmitter in a WDM-PON, the proposed modulator can be cost-effectively applied to a multi-wavelength laser source with the same periodicity of the longitudinal mode. Instead of the multi-wavelength laser source, tunable-LDs are used for experiments. The 32 channel multicasting system with the proposed modulator has been demonstrated, showing power penalties of 1.53~4.15 dB at a bit error rate of $10^{-9}$ with extinction ratios better than 14.5 dB at 622 Mbps.

In this paper, secure multicasting with the help of cooperative decode-and-forward relays is considered for the case in which a source securely sends a common message to multiple destinations in the presence of a single eavesdropper. We show that the secrecy rate maximization problem in the secure multicasting scenario under an overall power constraint can be solved using semidefinite programing with semidefinite relaxation and a bisection technique. Further, a suboptimal approach using zero-forcing beamforming and linear programming based power allocation is also proposed. Numerical results illustrate the secrecy rates achieved by the proposed schemes under secure multicasting scenarios.

The development of multimedia applications has followed the development of high-speed networks. By improving the performance of mobile devices, it is possible to provide high-transfer-speed broadband and seamless mobile multicasting services between indoor and outdoor environments. Multicasting services support efficient group communications. However, mobile multicasting services have two constraints: tunnel convergence and handoff latency. In order to solve these problems, many protocols and handoff methods have been studied. In this paper, we propose inter local mobility anchor (inter-LMA) optimized handoff model for mobile multicasting services in proxy mobility IPv6 based (PMIPv6-based) networks. The proposed model removes the tunnel convergence issue and reduces the router processing costs. Further, it the proposed model allows for the execution of fast handoff operations with adaptive transmission mechanisms. In addition, the proposed scheme exhibits low packet delivery costs and handoff latency in comparison with existing schemes and ensures fast handoff when moving the inter-LMA domain.

현재, 광대역 통합 통신망의 발달로 통신과 방송이 융합된 고품질의 멀티미디어 서비스가 가능해 지고 있다. 이러한 고품질의 통신 방송 융합 서비스는 IP 망에서 신뢰성 있는 멀티캐스팅 메커니즘이 요구되는데 현재의 멀티캐스팅 메커니즘은 end-to-end QoS 보장에 어려운 점이 있다. 이러한 신뢰성이 요구되는 고품질의 IP 멀티미디어 IPTV 서비스를 위해서는 먼저 신뢰성 있는 품질 보장성 멀티캐스팅 메커니즘이 제공되어야 하며 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 중앙 집중 멀티캐스팅 관리 블록의 제어를 받는 프루빙 패킷 기반 멀티캐스팅 수락 제어 메커니즘을 제안하였다. 그리고 ns-2 시뮬레이터를 사용하여 제안된 메커니즘에 대한 성능 분석을 제시하였다.

한 소스로부터 다수의 싱크로의 데이터 멀티캐스팅은 통신 비용 절약 뿐 아니라 효율적인 에너지의 사용을 위해 이루어진다. 무선 센서 네트워크에서, 지금까지의 멀티캐스팅 위한 방안들은 대부분 하나의 소스와 다수의 고정적인 싱크들 사이의 최적화된 멀티캐스트 트리로 만들어진다. 하지만 전쟁 지역에서의 적군 감지 시스템, 재난지역 구조 시스템 등의 실질적인 응용들에서, 싱크는 자신의 미션을 수행하기 위해 이동성을 가지고 센서 네트워크를 돌아다닐 것이다. 불행히도 싱크의 이동성은 전체 멀티캐스트 트리의 빈번한 재구성을 초래하고 이것은 제한된 배터리를 가진 센서들의 에너지 고갈을 야기시킨다. 그러므로, 우리는 지역적인 멀티캐스트 트리의 재구성을 통해 다수의 이동 싱크를 지원하는 에너지 효율적인 멀티캐스트 프로토콜을 제안한다. 또한 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안된 방안이 기존 연구들 보다 에너지 자원 관리 측면에서 더 효과적임을 보인다.

본 논문에서는 IPTV에서 멀티캐스팅 서비스를 수행할 경우 영상품질에 영향을 끼치는 주요 요소들의 특성을 분석하고자 실제 IPTV 서비스 환경과 유사하게 실험 망을 구축하여 QoS기술을 적용한 경우와 QoS기술을 적용하지 않은 경우로 나누어 트래픽 부하의 증감에 따른 영상품질의 변화와 주요 요소들의 임계치를 구하였다. 본연구결과는 IPTV 멀티캐스팅 서비스에서 일정한 영상품질을 보장하기 위한 기본 자료로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
