일본에서의 지속가능 발전교육(ESD)에 관한 교사, 대학생 및 학부모의 인식에 과한 연구 (A Study on Recognition of Teachers, Students and PTA about the Education for Sustainable Development(ESD) in Japan)

  • This study conducted a survey on recognition of teachers, students, and Parent Teacher Association(PTA) for the Education for Sustainable Development from April to October, 2008. It confirmed a couple of facts, which were summarized as follows; First, among eight educational areas including Environmental Education, Energy Education, Gender Education, World Heritage Education, Multi-cultural Coexistence Education, Peace Education, Education for human rights, and Education for international understanding that UNESCO had offered, this study showed that the 'Environmental Education' is a relatively important area comparing with others. Second, 54.4% of the respondents have agree with the need of the education for sustainable development in the middle school and the high school, and 54.1% of them showed their willingness to participate in the program. Third, because 49.2% of the respondents chose 'important' on the question of 'how important the field education and the experience education are', it looked like most of them agreed with the importance of the field education and the experience education. Fourth, because 61.1% of the responded teachers chose 'need' on the question of 'if it needs relationship with other studies', it looked like most of them agreed with the necessity of relationship with other studies. Fifth, 62.5% of the respondents chose 'no' on the question of 'if they conduct the education for sustainable development Even if some wanted the education for sustainable development, most of them would not do it in the regular curriculum, but in the special activity class or teacher's discretional time. Sixth, most respondents indicated the teacher's class burden and the teacher's lack of knowledge as the problem if the education for sustainable development would be conducted. This result implied that in order to vitalize the education for sustainable development, the teacher's class burden should be reduced and the teacher train program is necessary. Finally, urgent requested studies could improve the education for sustainable development in communities and schools, because the result of the survey showed education, natural observation learning, and visiting ecological parks as important elements.

Status, Trend and Strategy on Municipal Wastewater Management in China

  • The rapid development of economy in China at the expense of consuming huge amount of energy and resources, water resource in particular, which has resulted in the production and discharge of increasing amount of wastewater to the water environment. In order to effectively control the increasing water pollution trend, the State Council has stipulated that all the cities with population over 500,000 should reach wastewater treatment rate of 60% by 2005, and all the cities should reach the rate of 60% by 2010, of which Capital Beijing and all the province capital cities and important tourism cities should reach 70% then. By the end of 2005, of the 661 cities in China, 393 have built and operated municipal wastewater treatments with a total number of 790 sets, total treatment capacity of $80.91{\times}106m^3/d$ and total treatment rate of > 48%. Other 73 cities have started the construction of municipal wastewater treatment plants, and other 168 cities have started to prepare, planning and design of wastewater treatment plants. Most of municipal wastewater treatment plants in big cities in China operate normally and perform well with good quality of effluent in terms of wastewater treatment train, but the sewage sludge treatment is usually poor with big problems. It has been found that the small scale WWTPs using activated sludge process in the towns are usually operated and maintained abnormally because of lack of fund, skilled operators and energy. It is therefore suggested that the small scale MWWTPs in small cities and towns adopt appropriate technologies, of which the most available ones are multi-stage ponds, constructed wetlands and the combination of them for further purification and reuse of treated wastewater.

소 부류 객체 분류를 위한 CNN기반 학습망 설계 (Training Network Design Based on Convolution Neural Network for Object Classification in few class problem)

  • 최근 데이터의 지능적 처리 및 정확도 향상을 위해 딥러닝 기술이 응용되고 있다. 이 기술은 다층의 데이터 처리 레이어들로 구성된 계산 모델을 통해 이루어지는데, 이 모델은 여러 수준의 추상화를 거쳐 데이터의 표현을 학습한다. 딥러닝의 한 부류인 컨볼루션 신경망은 인간 행동 추정, 얼굴 인식, 이미지 분류, 음성 인식 같은 연구 분야에서 많이 활용되고 있다. 이미지 분류에 좋은 성능을 보여주는 컨볼루션 신경망은 깊은 학습망과 많은 부류를 이용하면 효과적으로 분류율을 높일수 있지만, 적은 부류의 데이터를 사용할 경우, 과적합 문제가 발생할 확률이 높아진다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 컨볼루션 신경망기반의 소부류의 분류을 위한 학습망을 제작하여 자체적으로 구축한 이미지 DB를 학습시키고, 객체를 분류하는 연구를 실험 하였으며, 1000개의 부류를 분류하기 위해 제작된 기존 공개된 망들과 비교 실험을 통해 기존 망보다 평균 7.06%이상의 상승된 분류율을 보여주었다.

Shear strength estimation of RC deep beams using the ANN and strut-and-tie approaches

  • Reinforced concrete (RC) deep beams are structural members that predominantly fail in shear. Therefore, determining the shear strength of these types of beams is very important. The strut-and-tie method is commonly used to design deep beams, and this method has been adopted in many building codes (ACI318-14, Eurocode 2-2004, CSA A23.3-2004). In this study, the efficiency of artificial neural networks (ANNs) in predicting the shear strength of RC deep beams is investigated as a different approach to the strut-and-tie method. An ANN model was developed using experimental data for 214 normal and high-strength concrete deep beams from an existing literature database. Seven different input parameters affecting the shear strength of the RC deep beams were selected to create the ANN structure. Each parameter was arranged as an input vector and a corresponding output vector that includes the shear strength of the RC deep beam. The ANN model was trained and tested using a multi-layered back-propagation method. The most convenient ANN algorithm was determined as trainGDX. Additionally, the results in the existing literature and the accuracy of the strut-and-tie model in ACI318-14 in predicting the shear strength of the RC deep beams were investigated using the same test data. The study shows that the ANN model provides acceptable predictions of the ultimate shear strength of RC deep beams (maximum $R^2{\approx}0.97$). Additionally, the ANN model is shown to provide more accurate predictions of the shear capacity than all the other computed methods in this study. The ACI318-14-STM method was very conservative, as expected. Moreover, the study shows that the proposed ANN model predicts the shear strengths of RC deep beams better than does the strut-and-tie model approaches.

보건교육 전문인력의 양성 및 활용방안 (Training and Utilization of Health Education Specialist)

  • The National Health Promotion Act passed in 1995 was a milestone for initiating a national and local health promotion program in Korea. And since then local governments and health centers have been developing and providing health promotion programs for the community population. To apply the effectiveness of community health promotion program, it is important to understand the key issue related to health education and the role of health education personnel. The purpose of this study was to define the responsibility and competency of health education specialist, and to develop the activity areas of health promotion program in Korea. Those who provide the service for health promotion and health education should be properly qualified and professionally trained. However, the skills and responsibilities of those who are in charge of providing health education program have not yet been clearly defined in Korea because the areas of health promotion and health education are composed of multi-academic fields. In case of United States, health education specialist is being developed through professional preparation in colleges and graduate schools, and certified through the examination. Also health education specialist is in charge of the planing, implementing and evaluation of health education program in school, hospital, health center, workplace and health food company. Therefore it is important to develop the programs to train and certify health education specialist. Also to extend the activity areas, the government should support continuously program development for health promotion and health education personnel.

HMM에 기반한 한국어 개체명 인식 (HMM-based Korean Named Entity Recognition)

  • 개체명 인식은 질의응답 시스템이나 정보 추출 시스템에서 필수 불가결한 과정이다. 이 논문에서는 HMM 기반의 복합 명사 구성 원리를 이용한 한국어 개체명 인식 방법에 대해 설명한다. 한국어에서 많은 개체명들이 하나 이상의 단어로 구성되어 있다. 또한, 하나의 개체명을 구성하는 단어들 사이와 개체명과 개체명 주위의 단어 사이에도 문맥적 관계를 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 단어들을 개체명 독립 단어, 개체명 구성 단어, 개체명 인접 단어로 분류하고, 개체명 관련 단어 유형과 품사를 기반으로 HMM을 학습하였다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 개체명 인식 시스템은 가변길이의 개체명을 인식하기 위해 트라이그램 모델을 사용하였다. 트라이그램 모델을 이용한 HMM은 데이터 부족 문제를 가지고 있으며, 이를 해결하기 위해 다단계 백-오프를 이용하였다. 경제 분야 신문기사를 이용한 실험 결과 F-measure 97.6%의 결과를 얻었다.

3D 입체 애니메이션의 영상 특징에 대한 연구 (Visual textuality of stereoscopic 3D animation)

  • 3D 입체 애니메이션은 입체영상 콘텐츠의 중요한 영역으로 부상하고 있으며, 세계적으로 주요 애니메이션 기업들이 앞으로 모든 컴퓨터그래픽 애니메이션을 입체 방식으로 제작하기로 하는 등 3D 입체 애니메이션은 기존 3D 애니메이션 콘텐츠 영역을 급속히 대체하고 있다. 이 연구는 새로운 영상 영역으로 부상하고 있는 3D 입체 애니메이션의 영상 특징을 고찰하고, 그것이 지닌 미학적 함의를 파악하고자 한 것이다. 연구 결과 3D 입체 애니메이션은 스크린 밖의 공간은 물론 스크린 안의 공간을 활용하는 방식으로 입체효과를 구현하고 있다. 이를 위해 이야기 소재, 이야기 구조, 캐릭터 디자인, 장면의 구성 등의 차원에서 입체 효과를 이루기 위한 다양한 장치를 활용하고 있다. 이러한 특징을 기반으로 3D 입체 애니메이션은 가상현실 체험의 강조, 시각 경험을 넘어서는 육체적 다감각성을 구현하는 영상미학을 구현하고 있다. 이 연구에서는 입체기술이 영상에 어떤 시사점을 안고 있는지 정리하고, 3D 애니메이션의 특정한 속성과 문화적 함의를 탐구하며, 나아가 실제 3D 입체 애니메이션에 대한 분석을 기반으로 3D 입체 애니메이션이 지닌 영상 특징은 무엇인지 고찰하고자 한다. 이러한 논의를 통해 3D 입체 애니메이션의 미학은 무엇이며, 어떤 사회문화적 함의를 안고 있는지 드러낼 수 있을 것이다.

선형예측계수와 뇌파의 변화를 이용한 신경회로망 기반 운전자의 졸음 감지 시스템 (Neural-network-based Driver Drowsiness Detection System Using Linear Predictive Coding Coefficients and Electroencephalographic Changes)

  • 운전 중 운전자의 졸음은 교통 사망사고를 일으키는 중요한 요인이며 음주운전보다도 더 위험할 수 도 있다. 이러한 이유로 운전자의 졸음을 판별하고 경고하는 시스템 개발이 최근에 매우 중요한 이슈로 떠올랐다. 그중에서도 졸음과 가장 밀접한 관련이 있는 생체 신호인 뇌파 (Electroencephalogram, EEG)와 안구전도 (Electrooculogram, EOG)를 분석하는 연구가 주류를 이루고 있다. 본 논문에서는 실험 프로토콜에 의거하여 측정된 뇌파를 주파수별로 분석하여 운전자의 상태별 뇌파 데이터베이스를 구축하고 선형예측(Linear Predictive coding, LPC) 계수를 특징벡터로 한 신경회로망 기반 운전자 졸음 감지 시스템을 제안한다. 실험결과로 졸음의 뇌파분석에서 알파파가 감소하며 세타파가 증가하는 추세를 보였으며, LPC 계수가 각성, 졸음 및 수면상태의 특징을 잘 반영하였다. 특히 제안한 시스템은 적은 샘플(250ms)을 가지고도 96.5%라는 높은 분류 결과를 얻어 짧은 순간에 일어날 수 있는 운전 시 돌발 상황을 실시간으로 검출 가능성을 확인하였다.

인공 신경망(ANN)에 의한 하수처리장의 유입 유량 및 유입 성분 농도의 예측 (Prediction of Influent Flow Rate and Influent Components using Artificial Neural Network (ANN))

  • This work was performed to develop a model possible to predict the influent flow and influent components, which are one of main disturbances causing process problems at the operation of municipal wastewater treatment plant. In this study, artificial neural network (ANN) was used in order to develop a model that was able to predict the influent flow, $COD_{Mn}$, SS, TN 1 day-ahead, 2day-ahead and 3 day ahead. Multi-layer feed-forward back-propagation network was chosen as neural network type, and tanh-sigmoid function was used as activation function to transport signal at the neural network. And Levenberg-Marquart (LM) algorithm was used as learning algorithm to train neural network. Among 420 data sets except missing data, which were collected between 2005 and 2006 at field plant, 210 data sets were used for training, and other 210 data sets were used for validation. As result of it, ANN model for predicting the influent flow and components 1-3day ahead could be developed successfully. It is expected that this developed model can be practically used as follows: Detecting the fault related to effluent concentration that can be happened in the future by combining with other models to predict process performance in advance, and minimization of the process fault through the establishment of various control strategies based on the detection result.
