In this study, we was measured the radiance reflectance by using multi-spectral image of low resolution camera(LRC) which will be loaded in the multi-purpose satellite(KOMPSAT) to use the data in analyzing water pollution. Also we investigated the possibility of extraction of water quality factors in rivers and water body by using high resolution remote sensing data such as Airborne MSS. Especially, we tried to extract the environmental factors related with eutrophication, and also tried to develop the process technique and the radiance feature of reflectance related with eutrophication. The results were summarized as follows: First, the spectrum of sun's rays which reaches the surface of the earth was consistent with visible rays bands of 0.4${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$~0.7${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and about 50% of total quantity of radiation were there. And at around 0.5${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ of green spectral band in visible rays bands, the spectrum was highest. Second, as a result of the radiance reflectance Chlorophyll-a represented high spectral reflectance mainly around 0.52${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ of green spectral band, and suspended sediments and turbidity represented high spectral reflectance at 0.8${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and at 0.57${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ each. Third, as a result of the water quality analysis by using Airborne MSS, Chlorophyll-a could have a distribution chart when carried out ratio of B3 and BS to B7. And Band 7 was useful for making the distribution chart of suspended sediments. And when we carried out PCA, suspended sediments and turbidity had distributions at PC 1 , PC 4 each similarly to ground truth data. Above results can be changed according to the change of season and time. Therefore, in order to analyze more exactly the environmental factors of water quality by using LRC data, we need to investigate constantly the ground truth data and the radiance feature of reflectance of water body. Afterward in this study, we will constantly analyze the radiance feature of the surface of water in water body by measuring the on-the-spot radiance reflectance and using low resolution satellite image(SeaWiFs). Besides, we will gather the data of water quality analysis in water body and analyze the pattern of water pollution.
Microwave remote sensing can help monitor the land surface water cycle, crop growth and soil moisture. A ground-based polarimetric scatterometer has an advantage for continuous crop using multi-polarization and multi-frequencies and various incident angles have been used extensively in a frequency range expanding from L-band to Ka-band. In this study, we analyzed the relationships between L-, C- and X-band signatures and soil moisture content over the whole soybean growth period. Polarimetric backscatter data at L-, C- and X-bands were acquired every 10 minutes. L-band backscattering coefficients were higher than those observed using C- or X-band over the period. Backscattering coefficients for all frequencies and polarizations increased until Day Of Year (DOY) 271 and then decreased until harvesting stage (DOY 294). Time serious of soil moisture content was not a corresponding with backscattering over the whole growth stage, although it increased relatively until early August (R2, DOY 224). We conducted the relationship between the backscattering coefficients of each band and soil moisture content. Backscattering coefficients for all frequencies were not correlated with soil moisture content when considered over the entire stage ($r{\leq}0.50$). However, we found that L-band HH polarization was correlated with soil moisture content (r=0.90) when Leaf Area Index (LAI)<2. Retrieval equations were developed for estimating soil moisture content using L-band HH polarization. Relation between L-HH and soil moisture shows exponential pattern and highly related with soil moisture content ($R^2=0.92$). Results from this study show that backscattering coefficients of radar scatterometer appear effective to estimate soil moisture content.

In this paper, the small loop antenna with a parasitic loop structure for penta-band mobile phone application is proposed. This antenna is composed of a feed monopole, a radiating loop antenna with a parasitic loop structure and an additional radiating element. The antenna is printed on the very thin flexible substrate to mount on the dielectric carrier with a volume of 40 mm$\times$11 mm$\times$3 mm. The bandwidth of the proposed antenna is 402 MHz(773~1,175 MHz) for low band and 583 MHz(1,622~2,205 MHz) for high band. As a result, the proposed antenna covers the five bands of GSM850, GSM900, DCS1800, PCS1,900 and WCDMA for a 3:1 VSWR. Moreover, the radiation pattern, gain and efficiency are appropriate for mobile handset. Therefore, this antenna is suitable for small sized multi-band mobile handset applications.
For the first time Aluminium-BariumeZinc oxide nanocomposite (ZABONC) was synthesized by solution combustion method where calcination was carried out at low temperatures (600℃) to study the electromagnetic (EM) (X/γ) radiation shielding properties. Further for characterization purpose standard techniques like PXRD, SEM, UV-VISIBLE, FTIR were used to find phase purity, functional groups, surface morphology, and to do structural analysis and energy band gap determination. The PXRD pattern shows (hkl) planes corresponding to spinel cubic phase of ZnAl2O4, cubic Ba(NO3)2, α and γ phase of Al2O3 which clearly confirms the formation of complex nano composite. From SEM histogram mean size of nano particles was calculated and is in the order of 17 nm. Wood and Tauc's relation direct energy band gap calculation gives energy gap of 2.9 eV. In addition, EM (X/γ) shielding properties were measured and compared with the theoretical ones using standard procedures (NaI (Tl) detector and multi channel analyzer MCA). For energy above 356 keV the measured shielding parameters agree well with the theory, while below this value slight deviation is observed, due to the influence of atomic/crystallite size of the ZABONC. Hence synthesized ZABONC can be used as a shielding material in EM (X/γ) radiation shielding.

Recently, InGaN/GaN multi-quantum well grown on GaN pyramid structures have attracted much attention due to their hybrid characteristics of quantum well, quantum wire, and quantum dot. This gives us broad band emission which will be useful for phosphor-free white light emitting diode. On the other hand, by using quantum dot emission on top of the pyramid, site selective single photon source could be realized. However, these structures still have several limitations for the single photon source. For instance, the quantum efficiency of quantum dot emission should be improved further. As detection systems have limited numerical aperture, collection efficiency is also important issue. It has been known that micro-cavities can be utilized to modify the radiative decay rate and to control the radiation pattern of quantum dot. Researchers have also been interested in nano-cavities using localized surface plasmon. Although the plasmonic cavities have small quality factor due to high loss of metal, it could have small mode volume because plasmonic wavelength is much smaller than the wavelength in the dielectric cavities. In this work, we used localized surface plasmon to improve efficiency of InGaN qunatum dot as a single photon emitter. We could easily get the localized surface plasmon mode after deposit the metal thin film because lnGaN/GaN multi quantum well has the pyramidal geometry. With numerical simulation (i.e., Finite Difference Time Domain method), we observed highly enhanced decay rate and modified radiation pattern. To confirm these localized surface plasmon effect experimentally, we deposited metal thin films on InGaN/GaN pyramid structures using e-beam deposition. Then, photoluminescence and time-resolved photoluminescence were carried out to measure the improvement of radiative decay rate (Purcell factor). By carrying out cathodoluminescence (CL) experiments, spatial-resolved CL images could also be obtained. As we mentioned before, collection efficiency is also important issue to make an efficient single photon emitter. To confirm the radiation pattern of quantum dot, Fourier optics system was used to capture the angular property of emission. We believe that highly focused localized surface plasmon around site-selective InGaN quantum dot could be a feasible single photon emitter.

Allelic diversity of 44 microsatellite marker loci originated from the coding regions of specific genes or the non-coding regions of barley genome was analyzed for 19 barley genotypes. Multi-allelic variation was observed at the most of marker loci except for HVM13, HVM15, HVM22, and HVM64. The number of different alleles ranged from 2 to 12 with a mean of 4.0 alleles per micro-satellite. Twenty-one alleles derived from 10 marker loci are specific for certain genotypes. The level of polymorphism (Polymorphic Information Content, PIC) based on the band pattern frequencies among genotypes was relatively high at the several loci such as HVM3, HVM5, HVM14, HVM36, HVM62 and HVM67. In the cluster analysis using genetic similarity matrix calculated from microsatellite-derived DNA profiles, two major groups were classified and the spike-row type was a major factor for clustering. Correlation between genetic similarity matrices based on microsatellite markers and pedigree data was highly significant ($r=0.57^{**}$), but these two parameters were moderately associated each other. On the other hand, RAPD-based genetic similarity matrix was more highly associated with microsatellite-based genetic similarity ($r=0.63^{**}$) than coefficient of parentage.

Studied antenna's basic structure was circular micro-strip patch antenna. Bandwidth was broaden and back-radiation pattern was decreased because studied antenna had PBG on a ground for improvement in its defect which is skin-effects. And character of antenna according to different shape of PBG was observed. Finally, air-gap whose dielectric constant is lower than substrates was added between substrates sc respond frequency was higher despite small size antenna.
Background : Recently the incidence of tuberculosis is increasing in many countries and control of the disease is further threatened by the emergence of multi-drug resistant tuberculosis. So rapid detection of drug resistance is very important. Pyrazinamide (PZA) is a first-line chemotherapeutic agent for tuberculosis. Now in Korea, we perform PZase activity test instead of actual pyrazinamide susceptibility test for the detection of PZA resistant M. tuberculosis. Recently the pncA gene, encoding the PZase of M. tuberculosis, was completely sequenced. And it was reported that the mutation of pncA gene would be associated with PZA resistance of M. tuberculosis. Therefore we performed this study to evaluate the possibility for the rapid detection of PZA resistant M. tuberculosis using PCR-SSCP of pncA gene. Method : 44 cultured clinical isolates of M. tuberculosis, BCG Tokyo strain. BCG French strain, and one M. bovis isolate were studied. We used H37Rv as the reference strain, The PZase activity test was done at the reference laboratory of Korean Tuberculosis Institute. DNA was extracted by bead-beater method and 561 bp fragment including pncA gene was amplified by PCR. The PCR product were digested by BstB I enzyme. SSCP was done using MDE gel. Of the 44 strains of M. tuberculosis, 22 strains were PZase-positive and other 22 strains were PZase negative. Results : Of the 22 PZase positive strains, 18 strains(82%) showed the same mobility compared with that of H37Rv and 4(18%) showed different mobility. Of the 22 PZase-negative strains, 19(86%) strains showed the same mobility pattern compared with that of H37Rv and 3(14%) showed different mobility. Naturally PZA-resistant BeG-French strain, BCG-Tokyo strain, and one M. bovis isolate showed the same band pattern each other, but their mobility were different from that of H37Rv. The results of PZase activity test and PCR-SSCP of pncA of M. tuberculosis were statistically significantly correlated each other (p<0.01). Conclusion : The PCR-SSCP after BstB I restriction of pncA gene of M. tuberculosis may be a useful method for the rapid detection of PZA-resistant M. tuberculosis.
Airborne MSS data is regarded as a potentially effective data source for the measurement of water quality and for the environmental change of water bodies. The spectrum was reached highest at around 0.5${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ of green spectral band in visible bands. When we carried out PCA, suspended sediments and turbidity had distributions at PC 1 and PC 4 which are similar to the ground data. Above results can be changed according to the change of season and time. Therefore, in order to analyze the environmental factors of water quality by using LRC data more exactly, we need to investigate the ground data and the radiance feature of reflectance of water bodies constantly. For further studies, we will constantly analyze the radiance feature of the surface of water in wafter bodies by measuring the on-the-spot radiance reflectance and using low resolution satellite image(SeaWiFS). We will also gather the data of water quality analysis in water bodies and analyze the pattern of water pollution.
