  • New dispersion coefficient equation which can be used to estimate dispersion coefficient by using only hydraulic data easily obtained in natural streams has been developed. Dimensional analysis was performed to select physically meaningful parameters, One-Step Huber method, which is one of the nonlinear multi-regression method, was applied to derive a regression equation of dispersion coefficient. 59 measured hydraulic data which were collected in 26 streams in the United States and were analyzed in the Part I of this study, were used in developing new dispersion coefficient equation. Among 59 measured data sets, 35 data sets were used in deriving regression equation, and 24 data sets are used for verification. The new dispersion coefficient equation, which has been developed in this study was proven to be superior in explaining dispersion characteristics of natural streams more precisely compared to existing dispersion coefficient equations.

Slides, which were used in the study, were taken in the Sorak National Park along the roads. For this purpose, the study used the questionnairy about the Road-landscape which was presented by a slide projection, also used th index of Shape. This research used analysis method of multi-regression between the preference and perceptional factors, and between the preference and index of shape. 1) The regression result of $R^2$ is 00827 between the preference and perceptional factors, therefore we can positively consider that the preference is related to the perception. The preference is affected highly by the intimacy which is the one of perceptional factors. 2) The regression result of $R^2$ is 0.692 between the preference and the index of shape. The preference has a relation with the index of shape, and it is affected highly by the index of sky. 3) Therefore, this study identifies the relationship between the preference and the perceptional factors, and the index of shape makes this relationship possible.

  • The primary objective of this study was to analyze the delivery ratio using Hydrological Simulation Program - Fortran (HSPF) in Okdong-cheon watershed. Model parameters related to hydrology and water quality were calibrated and validated by comparing model predictions with the 8-day interval filed data collected for ten years from the Korea Ministry of Environment. The results indicated that hydrology and water quality parameters appeared to be reasonably comparable to the field data. The pollutant delivery loads of the watershed in 2015 were simulated using the HSPF model. The delivery ratios of each subwatershed were also estimated by the simple ratio calculation of pollutant discharge load and pollutant delivery load. Coefficients of the regression equation between the delivery ratio and specific discharge were also computed using the delivery ratio. Based on the results, multiple regression analysis was performed using the discharge and the physical characteristics of the subwatershed such as the area. The equation of delivery ratio derived in this study is only for the Okdong-cheon watershed, so the larger studies are needed to apply the findings to other watersheds.

  • Purpose: This study compared health behaviors and health-related clinical characteristics between individuals with normal glucose levels without diabetes and those with undiagnosed diabetes. Factors that were associated with undiagnosed diabetes were identified by sex. Methods: This was an observational study with a cross-sectional design based on data from the eighth Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, which used a stratified, multi-stage, cluster-sampling design to obtain a nationally representative sample. Multiple logistic regression analysis was employed to compute the odds ratios of health behaviors and clinical characteristics to identify risk factors for undiagnosed diabetes. Results: The overall prevalence of undiagnosed diabetes was 5.2% (weighted %, n = 700, p < .001). Among individuals with undiagnosed diabetes, 58.3% were men. Univariate logistic regression for undiagnosed diabetes identified sex, age, house income, educational level, and triglycerides as influencing factors. In multiple logistic regression by sex, the factors associated with undiagnosed diabetes in men were age, perceived health status, a diagnosis of angina, and triglycerides. Conclusion: Strategies should be targeted to improve health behaviors and clinical characteristics for specific age groups, men in bad perceived health status, women with high systolic blood pressure, and high triglycerides. Moreover, healthcare providers should understand the barriers to health behaviors and health-related quality of life to effectively deliver healthcare services.
