Improved AOMDV to Increase Path Stability by Utilizing The Node Mobility Information in MANET (MANET에서 노드 이동성 정보를 활용하여 경로의 안정성을 높인 향상된 AOMDV)

  • In MANET, the nodes, configuring a path, act as routers and they have various mobilities. If the path is broken by a node's moving, a new path has to be found again. For this reason, the node with high mobility should be excluded from configuring a path as far as possible. In this paper, we propose an algorithm which excludes nodes with high mobility from constructing a path by collecting and managing the information of mobility. As the result, the proposed algorithm provides more stable paths. In this algorithm, we appends MRecord Field and Relieve Field in the routing table to collect and manage the mobility information by extending current AOMDV. In addition, we add Mbl Field to RREP (Route Reply) message to adapt the collected information to configure the real path.

Sensor Fusion Docking System of Drone and Ground Vehicles Using Image Object Detection (영상 객체 검출을 이용한 드론과 지상로봇의 센서 융합 도킹 시스템)

  • Recent studies for working robot in dangerous places have been carried out on large unmanned ground vehicles or 4-legged robots with the advantage of long working time, but it is difficult to apply in practical dangerous fields which require the real-time system with high locomotion and capability of delicate working. This research shows the collaborated docking system of drone and ground vehicles which combines image processing algorithm and laser sensors for effective detection of docking markers, and is finally capable of moving a long distance and doing very delicate works. We proposed the docking system of drone and ground vehicles with sensor fusion which also suggests two template matching methods appropriate for this application. The system showed 95% docking success rate in 50 docking attempts.

Surface and Tribological Characteristics of Air-cooled and Oil-cooled AISI 4140 Steel (냉각공정에 따른 AISI 4140 강의 표면 및 트라이볼로지 특성)

  • AISI 4140 steel is widely used in various mechanical components owing to its superior mechanical properties. Surface hardening techniques are often used to further improve the properties, particularly for applications with moving components. The aim of this research is to understand the effect of heat treatment process on surface properties and tribological characteristics of AISI 4140 steel. In this work, we prepare two different AISI 4140 steel specimens- one cooled by air and one by oil- and determine surface properties such as surface topography and roughness using a confocal microscope. We also observe the cross-sections of the specimens using a scanning electron microscope to understand the difference in the material structure. In addition, we assess the hardness with respect to the distance from the surface using a micro-Vickers hardness tester. After characterizing the surfaces of the specimens, we investigate the wear characteristics of the specimens under hydrodynamic lubrication. The results show the presence of grooves on the surface of the oil-cooled specimens. It is likely that such grooves are formed during the cooling process using the oil. However, we observe no other significant differences in the surface properties of the specimens. The wear test results show the occurrence of severe wear on the oil-cooled specimens, which may be due to the groove formed on the surface. The results of this work may be helpful to improve surface properties using surface hardening techniques from a tribological perspective.

Fundamental Experiment for the Development of Water Pipeline Locator (상수도관로 위치탐사 장비개발을 위한 기초실험)

  • A variety of methods for detecting the location of an underground water pipeline are being used across the world; the current main methods used in South Korea, however, have the problems of low precision and efficiency and the limitations in actual application. On this, this study developed locator capable of detecting the location of a water pipe by the use of an IMU sensor, and technology for using the extended karman filter to correct error in location detection and to plot the location on the coordinate system. This study carried out a tract test and a road test as basic experiments to measure the performance of the developed technology and equipment. As a result of the straight line, circular and ellipse track tests, the 1750 IMU sensor showed the average error of 0.08-0.11%; and thus it was found that the developed locator can detect a location precisely. As a result of the 859.6-m road test, it was found that the error was 0.31 m in case the moving rate of the sensor was 0.3-0.6 m/s; and thus it was judged that the equipment developed by this study can be applied to long-distance water pipes of over 1 km sufficiently. It is planned to evaluate its field applicability in the future through an actual pipe network pilot test, and it is expected that locator capable of detecting the location of a water pipe more precisely will be developed through research for the enhancement of accuracy in the algorithm of location detection.

A Study on Direct Current Measurement Using Magneto-Optical LMF Method (자기장학 누설자속법을 응용한 직류전류계측법에 관한 연구)

  • It is necessary to measure the direct current with a non-contact methodology for the liquid or gas phase, as welt as the conducting metals. This paper described a theoretical consideration and experimental verification for a non-contact quantitative direct current measurement system using the Faraday effect and magnetic flux leakage. The leakage of magnetic flux occurs around a gap when a ferromagnetic core including the discontinuous gap is magnetized. Two large anisotropic domains in a magneto-optical film are occurred by the vertical component of leaked magnetic flux and the domain walls are paralleled to the center of the gap. Here, the symmetrical arrangement of domains are deflected when a vertical magnetic field is applied to the magneto-optical film. The domain wall of the magneto-optical film are relocated when a measuring current passes through the ferromagnetic core. Therefore, a direct current passing through the core can be determined quantitatively by the measurement of moving distance of the domain wall.

  • In this paper, a reaction-force compensation system for an XY linear motion stage, without an additional external isolation structure or extra motors, is developed. This system consists of a movable magnet track, a spring, a dummy weight, and a dedicated sensor module that measures the relative positions of the movable magnet track with respect to the motor coil. The reaction force compensation system is modeled, and simulations are carried out to optimize design parameters such as the moving distance of the magnet track, the transmission force, the dummy weight, and the allowed size of the mechanism. An XY linear motion stage is built, incorporating the reaction force compensation system, and the performance of the system is verified experimentally. For acceleration and deceleration values of 10 m/$s^2$, 85% of the reaction force is absorbed by the reaction force compensation system.

Fatigue Test of Remote CO2 Laser Welded Joints and Its Analysis (원격 CO2 레이저 용접이음에 대한 피로시험과 해석)

  • A remote $CO_2$ laser system can rapidly change both the distance and the direction of the laser beam by moving a lens and rotating mirrors. It is then easy to weld complex patterns of weld lines. A conventional spot weld joint specimen and a remote $CO_2$ laser weld joint specimen with complex weld line patterns were prepared and tested both statically and dynamically. The relationships between the fatigue strength, i. e. the maximum cyclic force, and the fatigue life were obtained. The fatigue strength of the tested welded joints at two million cycles was found to be approximately 10% of the static strength. Furthermore, it was observed that the fatigue fracture mode changed with the level of the applied cyclic force. The fatigue crack origins were confirmed as the highest stress points found in the structural analysis. The maximum cyclic stress for different weld patterns converges as the fatigue life approaches two million cycles.

Tracking moving objects using particle filter and edge observation model (에지 관측 모델과 파티클 필터를 이용한 이동 객체 추적)

  • In this paper, we propose a method that is tracking an object in real time using particle filter and the observation model with edge. First of all, the proposed method defines the object to be tracked in the initial frame. Then, it generates the edge observation model for the object to be tracked and a set of particles. It calculates the weight by comparing the average of the middle distance in eight-way of particle filter edge model with that in edge observation model, and then updates the weight with the calculated value. After resampling particles using the updated weights, it estimates the current location of the tracked object. Finally, this paper demonstrates the performance of the stable tracking through comparison with the existing method by using a number of experimental data.

The Influence of Combine Crawler Attaching Slurry Spreader on Soil and Growth of Rye (호밀생육과 토양에 미치는 궤도형 분뇨살포기의 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of combine crawler attaching slurry spreader on soil and growth of rye. The performance test at actual field was conducted to test for possibility of practical use. Field test of the slurry spreader was operated in upland and paddy field. Experiments was conducted to compare the effects of the soil damage and crop productivity incorporating Pig slurry by two different types of slurry spreader. In this experiment a slurry spreader using crawler of combine have been designed and developed to enhance the operation in small field and reduce e damage of soil structure. but it was not suitable for transference in long distance. Conventional tractor mounted vacuum is not suitable for $71.6\%$ water condition in the small areas of paddy land. But the slurry spreader using crawler could be controlled the working point and moving by crawler in paddy land of small area. The wheels depths of soil in the supplementary application in the rye field was 4.9 m in tractor mounted spreader. but the wheels depth of crawler attaching spreader was 1.6cm. The dry matter yield of rye was reduced by $12\%$ in supplementary application of slurry due to mechanical damage from passage of the tires. This is particularly noticeable at high soil moisture condition in paddy land. It was concluded that the slurry spreader developed in this study could be successfully used for basal and supplementary application of slurry in rye paddy field.

An Implementation of Positioning System using Multiple Data in Smart Phone (스마트폰에서 다중데이터를 이용한 측위시스템 구현)

  • Recently, navigation system is used to inform users of vehicle location and driving direction, moving distance and so on. This navigation uses GPS sensor for current location determination. The GPS sensor will determinate current coordinates by using triangulation algorithm. This characteristic bring about that the GPS signal is not available in the shadow region such as tunnel and urban canyon. Moreover, Even though the signal is available, inherent positional error rate of the GPS often results in the dislocation of vehicle. To solve, these problems, a new positioning system is proposed in the paper. The System utilizes geomagnetic sensors of smartphone, speed information of CAN of vehicle though bluetooth and WiFi APs for GPS shadow area. The experimental test shadows that the proposed system using multiple data is able to determine the position of vehicle in GPS shadow areas.
