  • This paper deals with a study to improve the performance of Moving Coil type Linear Oscillatory Actuator (MC-LOA) considering unbalanced magnetic circuit. MC-LOA has an unbalanced magnetic circuit due to its asymmetric structure. In this type of LOA, the airgap flux density tends to have different magnitude along mover's displacement and the current directions. The above property causes eccentric of displacement center and interferes with the proper oscillation of LOA. Therefore, this paper presents two models having the unbalanced magnetic circuit and the other balanced by the saturated core. In order to compare the characteristics between the two models, a characteristic analysis for both the basic model and the improved model is performed by their dynamic analysis composed of kinetic and electric equations and Finite Element Method (FEM). The propriety of the improved model is verified through the experimental results.

발전소 증기터빈 밸브제어에 관한 고찰 (A Study On Steam Turbine Valve Controls In Power Plant)

  • Servovalves are widely used in industrial areas in order to control the position of large steam valves which regulate steam flow to prime mover. We must control the position of large steam valves to regulate flow of working fluids in the process. The small pilot valves are used to regulate the large main valves in case that the pressure of control fluids supplied to servovalves is low about $12kg/cm^2$. But, in case that the pressure of control fluids supplied to servovalves is high enough about $110kg/cm^2$, the pilot valves are not needed and servovalves can control directly the large main valves due to its large working forces. Additionally, the basic structures of armature coil should be different according to the types of control system even in the same servovalve. This paper compares and describes some integral types of flow control.

  • 최근 반송장치 시스템의 구동원으로 전기자 분산배치를 이용한 영구자석 리니어 동기 모터가 사용되고 있다. 하지만, 전기자 분산배치를 이용한 영구자석 리니어 동기 모터는 구조상 필연적으로 단부가 존재하게 된다. 이러한 이유로 전기자의 철심과 가동자의 영구자석 사이에 단부 코깅력이 발생한다. 본 논문은 유한요소법을 이용한 2차원 수치해석을 통해 단부 코깅력을 고찰하였다. 또한, 단부 코깅력을 최소화하기 위해 가동자에 보조극을 설치한 형상을 제안하였다.

ERP 도입의 공시가 기업의 시장 가치에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of ERP Implementation the Announcement on the Market Value of the Firm)

  • In the past few years, many Korean companies have implemented various ERP systems. Despite the enormous efforts and costs, however, there have been doubts about the effectiveness of ERP implementation. The purpose of this study is to identify whether the announcement of ERP implementation affects the market value of the firm. To achieve the research objective, event-study methodology was used assessing the cumulative abnormal returns(CARs) for 33 firms' announcements of ERP investments. Findings of the study are summarized as follows: First, the announcements of ERP implementation have no effect on the firm value though the sign is negative. Second, there is marginally significant difference in the market value of the firm between the first mover of ERP implementation and its followers. In order to figure out any possible reasons of such unexpected results, several investors and fund managers of major investment firms were interviewed. They reached the two agreements that ERP hardly increases the firm value. One was mainly due to the misfit between the foreign business processes built in the ERP systems and Korean firms' traditional business processes. The other was the possibility of financial deterioration caused by substantial costs for ERP implementation.

가변 속도 유도 전동기에서 발생한 펄스 토크에 의한 회전축계의 비틀림진동 현상 (Torsional Vibration Phenomenon due to Pulse Torque of Variable Speed Induction Motor on Rotating Systems)

  • Recently, commercial ships and other specialized vessels with electric propulsion system employ variable speed induction motor as its prime mover. The wide application of electrical motors also includes being the main drive system in most industrial machineries. However, during its start-up, shutdown, and brake switch operation, excessive torque variation are generated. As such, flexible coupling are installed in order to reduce the transmitted torque fluctuation to the driven side. In this paper, the pulse torque generated by an variable speed induction motor was analyzed theoretically and through measurement of torsional vibration. Induction motor with inverter on marine propulsion system and industrial compressor were used as experimental subjects. The study confirmed that pulse torque are generated regardless of motor speed and interpreted as a vibration source of the whole system. Results presented herein can be adopted as the basis in future amendment of inspection classifying body regulations.

  • In this paper, a simulation approach for the optimum design of cogeneration system is described. For the purpose of the systematic analysis, a simulation tool is developed with which the prediction of the energy load, calculation of operation data according to prime mover or capacity of it, and estimation of economic gains can be carried out. As for the criterion of the optimum design, the economic gains by adopting cogeneration system is taken. Based on the capital, operation, and maintenance costs etc, LCC analysis is to be carried out for the scenarios respectively. In this study, the simulation for the apartment complex is performed and the analysis of the results are described in detail. The effects of the operation parameters such as capital cost, fuel cost, and unit cost for the purchase or sale of heat and electricity on overall economy are also be considered by sensitivity study.

강직성 편마비 환자에서의 운동장애는 강직 때문인가? 근육약화 때문인가? (Movement Dysfunction in Spastic Hemiparesis: A Problem of Spasticity or Muscular Weakness?)

  • In most of the medical literature that discusses the common problem of movement in patients with cerebral lesions. This critical problem is ascribed to a mechanism involving uninhibited neural activity. The goals of neurological physical therapy are focus on reduce of muscle hypertonicity, facilitates muscle activities, and improve of performance in living environment. A variety of studies suggest that spasticity is a distinct problem and separate from the muscle weakness. It has become increasingly recognized that the major functional deficits following brain damage are largely due to negative features such as muscle weakness and loss of performance rather than spasticity. Adequate recruitment of prime mover, not release was able to carry out the movement tasks well. The strengthening exercise of spastic limbs on changes in muscle properties and performance skill, the repeated motor practice has been identified as crucial for motor recovery. This article support the concept that strengthening is an appropriate intervention to improve the quality of physical function in patients with central nervous system lesions. Further studies and therapeutic approaches should be efforts at improving motor neuron recruitment in agonist rather than reducing activity in antagonists while retraining muscle strengthening.

  • This paper presents system design of the slotless double-side Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Machine system (PMLSM) through magnetic field analysis and dynamic modeling. In our analysis, 2-D analytical treatments based on the magnetic vector potential were adopted to predict magnetic field with space harmonics by PM mover magnetization and stator winding current. From these, the design parameters such as inductance, Back-emf, and thrust are estimated. And, the electrical dynamic modeling including synchronous speed is completed by calculation of a DC link voltage in effort to obtain the accurate mechanical power from Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation(SVPWM). Therefore, the system design of PMLSM is performed from estimation of design parameters according to PM size and coil turns in magnetic field and from calculation of a DC link voltage to satisfy base speed and base thrust represented as the maximum output power in dynamic modeling. The estimated values from the analysis are verified by the finite element method and experimental results.

선박용 발전기 동기화시의 과도현상 해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Transient Phenomenon Analysis of Ship Generator Synchronization)

  • Connecting a synchronous generator to a power system is a dynamic process, requiring the coordinated operation of many components and systems. The goal is to connect the oncoming generator to the system smoothly i.e without causing any significant bumps, surges, or power swings, by closing the ACB when the oncoming generator matches the power system in voltage magnitude, phase angle, and frequency. If oncoming generator voltage is not matched to the power system voltage, reactive power will flow either into or out of the system at the instant of ACB closure. If this voltage difference is too great, the reactive power flow may result in high transient stresses that could damage the windings of the generator. Also, if oncoming generator frequency is not matched to the power system frequency, transient power will flow between generator and power system. If the frequency difference is too great, the transient power flow is reflected into the prime mover shaft, and this may result in excessive shaft or coupling stress. This paper tries to prove the necessity of correct synchronization for ship generators through a transient phenomenon analysis.

Variable-Speed Wind Turbine Coupled Three-Phase Self-Excited Induction Generator Voltage Regulation Scheme with Static VAR Compensator Controlled by Pl Controller

  • In this paper, a Pl controlled feedback closed-loop voltage regulation scheme of the three-phase squirrel cage rotor self-excited induction generator (SEIG) driven by a variable-speed prime mover (VSPM) such as a wind turbine is designed on the basis of the static VAR compensator (SVC) and discussed in experiment fer the promising stand-alone power independent conditioner. The simulation and experimental results of the three-phase SEIG with the simple SVC controller for its stabilized voltage regulation prove the practical effectiveness of the additional SVC control loop scheme including the PI controller with fast response characteristics and steady-sate performance improvement.
