Time-series change in Gyeongpo beach shoreline was illustrated using DGPS(Differential Global Positioning System, resolution < 0.6m) observation from April, 2009 to April, 2010. The shoreline was subdivided into 12 areas, and westward and eastward movement of shoreline position at each area was calculated. In general, the shoreline moved toward sea during summer, and it moved toward land during winter. The southern and northern part of the shoreline had different pattern in time-series. The shoreline in the southern part moved toward sea during summer and moved toward land during winter, but time-series pattern of the shoreline in the northern part was more complicated than that in the southern part. Pattern of time-series change in the northern part was made up of three different types; the first is that the shoreline moves continuously toward land, and the second thing is that the shoreline's movement is the opposite to the southern part, and the third thing is that the shoreline maintains a state of equilibrium without any great fluctuation. The total length of the shoreline was the largest during winter and the smallest during summer. In general, time-series change in the shoreline had positive(+) relationship with sea surface pressure and wind speed.
With recent spotlight on the, uniquitous computing technology, the need for object of indentification and location infrastructure has increased. Such GPS technolgy must utilize IEEE 802.15.4 Zigbee used for existing wireless sensor network infra as a basice element for user's context-awareness in a uniquitous environement, for effectiveness.Such real-time GPS service is provided in the internal environment where the user would actually are and most high-rise buildlings apply. Underthe assumption, the real-time GPS technology is seperated by each floor, and signals do not get transmitted to other floors, the application on one floor within the high-rise buildling was conducted. This study intends to suggest a floor detection algorithm using IEE 802.15.3/Zigbee's RSSI which supports the accuracy within a couple of meters for the user's the movement between the floors in high-rise buildings in a complex environment. It proposes an floor detection algorithm using IEEE 802.15.4/Zigbee's RSSI which provides accuracy within a radius of few meters for the users movement between the floors for real-time location tracking within high-rise building in a cmoplex environment. Furthermore, for more accurate real-time location tracking, it suggests an algorithm for real-time location tracking using IEEE 802.15.4a/Zigbee's CSS technology based on triangulation. Based on the suggested algorithm, it designs a hybrid real-time location tracking service system in a high-rise buildling and test its functions.
Purpose: To investigate the effect of action observation training on the muscle onset time and symmetrical use of rectus femoris(RF) and gastrocnemius medialis(GCM) during sit-to-stand (STS). Methods: Sixteen patients with stroke entered a single-blind trial and were randomly assigned to the experimental(Action) or control(Landscape) groups. Those in the Action observation group watched video clips showing specific movement and strategies to STS, wheas those in the control group watched video clips of static pictures showing differnet landscapes. All patients was measured the EMG data in the STS on the affected side and unaffected side. The EMG data were collected from RF and GCM while performing the STS task. The EMG onset time and onset time ratio for the RF and GCM were calculated by dividing the EMG onset time of RF and GCM action on the affected side by these on the unaffected side. Results: Onset time of affected side RF, GCM was significantly faster action observation training group than control group(p<.05). But interventions before and after the symmetry did not show a significant increase. Conclusion: There findings suggest that action observation training has a positive effect on the muscle onset time shortened during STS tasks.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of active mandibular exercise (AME) in patients with limited mouth opening after maxillomandibular fixation (MMF) release. Methods: The study used a quasi-experimental, nonequivalent control group and a pre test-post test design. Sixty-two patients with Maxillomandibular Fixation Release were assigned to the experimental (n=31) or control group (n=31). The AME was performed in the experimental group for 4 weeks. The exercise AME consisted of maximal mouth opening, lateral excursion and protrusive movement. These movements were repeated ten times a day. After the final exercise of the day, the number of tongue blades used for mouth opening was noted. The effect of AME was evaluated after MMF release at different time intervals: a) immediately, b) after 1 week, c) after 2 weeks, d) after 4 weeks, and e) after 12 weeks. The exercise was assessed using the following criteria: a) mandibular movements, b) pain scores associated with maximal mouth opening, c) discomfort scores associated with range of movement, and d) daily life activities that involve opening the mouth. Results: The experimental group showed significant improvement regarding the range of mandibular movements (maximal mouth opening (F=23.60, p<.001), lateral excursion to the right side (F=5.25, p=.002), lateral excursion to the left side (F=5.97, p=.001), protrusive movement (F=5.51, p=.001)), pain score (F=39.59, p<.001), discomfort score (F=9.38, p<.001). Daily life activities that involve opening the mouth were more favorable compared to those in the control group. Conclusion: The AME in patients after MMF release is helpful for increasing mandibular movement range, decreasing pain and discomfort, and improving day life activities that involve opening the mouth. Therefore, AME is highly recommended as an effective nursing intervention.
Objective : The purpose of this study was to conduct a biomechanical analysis of a one-legged jump in a traditional Korean dance (Wae Bal Ddwigi) according to breathing method. Method : Participants for this study were 10 dancers with experience for at least 10 years in traditional Korean dance. Independent variables for this test were two different types of breathing methods. Dependent variables were ground reaction force and lower extremity kinematic variables. The jumping movement was divided into three separate stages, take off, flight, and landing. The subjects were asked a questionnaire regarding the degree of impact force and stability of landing posture after the experiment. The Kistler Force Plate (9281B, Switzerland) was used to measure ground reaction force. A digital camera was used to look into angles of each joint of the lower part of body. SPSS was used for statistical analysis via the dependent t-test(p<.05). Results : There were significant differences in jumping according to breathing method. The inhalation & exhalation method yielded significantly longer flight times combined with greater ground reaction force. The breath-holding method required more core flexion during landing, increasing movement at the hips and shoulders. Conclusion : Consequently, there was more flexion at the knee to compensate for this movement. As a result, landing time was significantly higher for breath-holding.
The hyalinized zone in compressed periodontal ligament seems to be an unavoidable aspect during certain phases of orthodontically produced tooth movement. And these hyalinized zones leads to a standstill of tooth movement. But when hyalinized zones disappears after a certain period of time and tooth movement is established. In the basic aspect of clinical science of orthodontics, it is very important, to study about the process involved and to establish whether a difference of periodontal response by the amount of the applied experimental force exists. The 35 Guineapigs were divided into the control group (5 animals) and the experimental group (Group I-Group VI 30 animals). The experimental tooth movement of Guineapig's maxillary incisors were carried out by rendering continuous force, 5g (Group I, Group II) 35g (Group III, Group IV), 100g (Group V, Group VI) respectively. 15 animals (Group I, Group III, Group V) were sacrificed one week after this experiment. Another 15 animals (Group II, Group IV, Group VI) were sacrificed one week after the removal of active appliences. At the end of the experimental periods, specimens containing tooth and adjacent periodontal structure were obtained and processed for light and electron microscopy. The results were as follows: 1. In Group I, cellular changes of pressured zones showed swollen mitochondria, dilation of rough surfaced endoplasmic reticulum (RER), vesicles and pyknosis of nucleus. 2. In Group III and Group V, the hyalinized tissues showed cell necrosis accompaning ruptures of cytoplasmic membrane and perinuclear envelope, large cytoplasmic vacuoles and many necrotic cell debris. 3. In Group IV and Group VI, hyalinized tissue were eliminated and the primitive mesenchymal cells and blood capillaries were proliferated. 4. In group V, the destruction of the collagenous fibers were observed, while in group I and group III were not observed. 5. In Croup IV and Group VI, the hyalinized zones were still remained partly.

The purpose of this study was to develop a caregiver's uniform that is appropriate for nursing and to improve movement adaptability as well as having a pleasing appearance. Based on the results of preliminary study, I investigated the inconvenience and problems with the existing uniforms and made a sample uniform taking into consideration the design, the material, and the pattern. We carried out a sensory assessment and quantitative assessment in order to compare the sample uniform with existing uniforms. Following are the results of this research. The top is a short-sleeved blouse with a round neckline having no collar and with armpit gussets. The armpit gussets are semicircles and the inverted pleats in the back are an improvement designed for activity. The pants are long reaching to the ankles with elastic in the waist so that the waist measurement may be adjusted. The length of the pants can be adjusted with strings and the pants have a funnel-shaped pocket for adjustment of length. We used a mix of polyurethane and polyester for the outer cloth of the uniform in order to improve activity function and used $Coolever^{TM}$, the sanitary textile that absorbs moisture well and dries in a short time, for gussets in the armpits, which is the heavy sweat area. The appearance assessment and movement adaptability assessment were performed with 5 subjects and 9 experts. For the results of the assessment, the sample uniform was appraised to be better than the existing uniforms in every item of an appearance comparison assessment except for the neckline assessment by the experts. As for the assessment of movement appropriateness and wearing assessment, the same subjects were used for analysis. As the results of the assessment, the sample uniform was rated higher than the existing uniforms in movement adaptability and pleasing appearance.
The movement of characters in ceil animation is the art that gives the feeling of movement. The movement expressed naturally and well done makes the scene more dramatic and interesting. The history of 3D animation is not fully riped yet but it has shown powerful impact. The genre of 3D has come closer to us, yet it has given freshness and problems at the same time. One of the problems is the awkwardness of movement. Overplaying, stretching and squashing of character, was extremely difficult to accomplish using the prior technique of 3D so! ftware. It was not very effective so animators have avoided doing it. However, advanced technique of 3D software, so to speak, ‘stretch and squash’, overcomes the limitation of movement. The new form of character animation can be accomplished. The theme of this paper is about the analysis and comparison of ‘stretch and squash’ in cell and 3D animation.
This study was performed, by Finite Element Method, to evaluate the stress distribution on the periodontal tissue according to activation of the various closing loops and to predict the pattern of movement of maxillary incisors. At the same time, bull loop, key-hole loop, T-loop, combination loop and asymmetrical T-loop which were used for retraction of maxillary incisors was analysed by Finite Element Method. The following results were obtained 1. Horizontal force was the greatest in bull loop, the followed by key-hole loop, combination loop, T-loop and initial tooth movement exhibited uncontrolled tipping. 2. Horizontal force in asymmetrical T-loop compared to other closing loops was remarkably decreased, and the intrusive force on the incisors occurred. 3. As torque was increased, the moment was increased as a linear increment. 4. As moment was increased, initial movement of tooth changed to root movement from uncontrolled tipping.

We have examined 20 tongue-tie patients who had been operated the lingual frenectomy in Dept. of Oral & Maxillofacial surgery, Pusan National University for the effect of the lingual frenectomy on the tongue motion and speech, and divided patients into groups by age. Each group was separated as follows ; the age of 5-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-15, and 16-18. We measured the frenal lengh, the range of tongue motion and evaluated the speech pre- and postoperatively. The preoperative patient groups have larger tongue tips and smaller lingual frenums than normal ones. In the preoperative patient group, there was significant obstacle of the protrusive and superior movement of the tongue. The exception was the laterotrusive movement on both sides. There was the lower value of the Picture Consonant Articulation Test(PCAT) in the preoperative 5 to 6 year-old group compared with normal group. In other age groups, there was no significant difference. The range of postoperative PCAT in all age groups has become as similiar as that of normal group. The 5 to 6 year-old group which had significant difference in PCAT was improved in PCAT. In conclusion, we propose that the PCAT as well as anatomical tongue size and functional tongue movement is the basis of the indication of lingual frenectomy and the 5-6 year-old is the optimal time of the lingual frenectomy for improvement of the tongue movement and the speech.
