  • The ground excavation in the urban area induces in general ground movement and subsequent damage on the adjacent building structures. So the essentials in the designing stage are the prediction of ground movement induced by the ground excavation and the damage risk assessment of buildings adjacent to the excavation. A propsed prediction method of the ground movement induced by the strutted excavation has been studied with due consideration of the existing ground movement prediction methods. A building damage risk assessment method based on the angular distortion and the horizontal strain derived from the green-field ground movement is also proposed. These methods have been applied successfully in the on-going deep excavation project in Singapore.

  • The prediction of user location within a building can be applied to many areas like visitor guiding. The existing methods for solving this problem consider limited number of locations a user visited in the past to predict the current location. It cannot model the complex movement patterns, and makes the system inefficient by modeling simple ones too detail. Also it causes prediction errors. In this paper, there is no restriction on the length of past movement patterns to consider for current location prediction. For this purpose, a modified search tree is used. The search tree is constructed to make exact matching as needed for location prediction. The search tree makes the efficient and accurate prediction possible.

  • This paper presents an elastoplastic analysis for spent nuclear fuel disposal container and its 50 cm thick bentonite buffer to predict the collapse of the container while the horizontal asymmetric sudden rock movement of 10 cm is applied on the composite structure. This sudden rock movement is anticipated by the earthquake etc. at a deep underground. Elastoplastic material model is adopted. Drucker-Prager yield criterion is used for the material yield prediction of the bentonite buffer and von-Mises yield criterion is used for the material yield prediction of the container. Analysis results show that even though very large deformations occur beyond the yield point in the bentonite buffer, the container structure still endures elastic small strains and stresses below the yield strength. Hence, the asymmetric 50 cm thick bentonite buffer can protect the container safely against the 10 cm sudden rock movement by earthquake etc.. Analysis results also show that bending deformations occur in the container structure due to the shear deformation of the bentonite buffer. The finite element analysis code, NISA, is used for the analysis.

  • 본 논문에서는 노드의 속성정보를 통해 노드의 움직임을 예측하는 PPoP(The Path Prediction algorithm based on Probability)

  • It is difficult to measure aircraft noise at many points, because the noise measurement is need to long time, 24 hours and consecutive 7 days, which results in high costs. As an alternative, movement measuring points are set to measure aircraft noise for less than 24 hours, and so it is needed to overcome the limitation of shorter measuring time. Thus, this study measured military aircraft noise on movement measuring points and conducted a comparative analysis on the data according to each measuring time. The data of measuring noise for 24 hours and less than 24 hours were compared to suggest appropriate measuring time on the movement measuring points. As a result of comparing data of measuring noise, an error was within 3 dB in case of measuring time of 3 hours, and an error was within 1 dB in case of 6 hours of measurement.

  • In this paper, the nonlinear structural analysis for the composite structure of the spent nuclear fuel disposal container and the 50cm thick bentonite buffer is carried out to predict the collapse of the container while the sudden rock movement of 10cm is applied on the composite structure. This sudden rock movement is anticipated by the earthquake etc. at a deep underground. Horizontal symmetric rock movement is assumed in this structural analysis. Elastoplastic material model is adopted. Drucker-Prager yield criterion is used for the material yield prediction of the bentonite buffer and von-Mises yield criterion is used for the material yield prediction of the container(cast iron insert, copper outer shell and lid and bottom). Analysis results show that even though very large deformations occur beyond the yield point in the bentonite buffer, the container structure still endures elastic small strains and stresses below the yield strength. Hence, the 50cm thick bentonite buffer can protect the container safely against the 10cm sudden rock movement by earthquake etc.. Analysis results also show that bending deformations occur in the container structure due to the shear deformation of the bentonite buffer. The elastoplastic nonlinear structural analysis for the composite structure of the container and the bentonite buffer is performed using the finite element analysis code, NISA.

  • Is generated in real time in the real world, a large amount of time series data from a wide range of business areas. But it is not easy to determine the optimal model for the description and understanding of the time series data is represented as a dynamic feature. In this study, through the HMM suitable for estimating the short and long-term forecasting model of time-series data to estimate a model that can explain the characteristics of these time series data, it was estimated to predict future patterns of movement. The actual stock market through various materials, information criterion and optimal model estimation for the length of the most efficient data was found to accurately estimate the state of the model. Similar movement patterns predictive than the long-term prediction is more similar to the short-term prediction of the experimental result were found to be.

  • When we apply parametric models to the movement of stock prices, we don't know whether they are really correct specifications. In the paper, any prior conditional mean structure is not assumed. By applying the nonparametric model, we see if it better performs (than the random walk model) in terms of out-of-sample prediction. An interesting finding is that the random walk model is still the best. There doesn't seem to exist any form of nonlinearity (not to mention linearity) in stock prices that can be exploitable in terms of point prediction.

  • This paper suggests the effective channel assignment scheme for mobility prediction handover. For maintaining required quality of service (QoS) during handover, there are handover algorithms these reserve the channel where the movement is predicted. But channel assignment schemes these have been studied are not considered mobility prediction handover. This paper suggests the channel assignment scheme that considers mobility predicted handover. The suggested algorithm maintains dropping probability of handover calls, decreases blocking probability of new calls and increases channel utilization.
