  • The installation methods of diesel engines in ships would be largely classified into two groups : one is the direct mounting system fixing engine directly into double bottom of the hull, and the other is the resilient mounting system having vibration absorbers between engine and ship body such as rubber plate to prevent shocks or vibration transmission. The direct mounting system is generally used for large-sized low speed diesel engines, because the resilient mounting system has difficulties in reducing the natural frequency of engine itself under normal speed. On the contrary, the resilient mounting system is often used for medium or high speed engines for marine propulsion and generator that have light weight and high revolution speed. Recently, it is even applied to engines having relatively low speed(300-400rpm) for fishing boats. Although many researches for the resilient mounting system have been carried out, many problems in applying these results directly to marine vessels because most of these have been used for automobiles. Up to now we have had to depend on the professional foreign company in design and the supply of parts for the resilient mounting system of marinediesel engines utterly. In preseut study, the exciting forces of engines effecting to resilient mounting were examined, and patterns of vibration and evaluation procedure for force transmission from resilient mounting to the body of hull were established. Also, these results were applied to the analysis of free and forced vibration for the rubber-type resilient mounting systems of marine diesel engines. Besides, after changing the various design parameters, such as locations, angles, dynamic characteristics and the number of resilient mountings, the influences on resilient mounting system were also examined.

  • This paper evaluates dynamic performance of a cab over type large-sized truck for estimating the effects of frame's torsional characteristics using a computer model. The computer model considers two mounting methods of frame, flange mounting and web mounting. Frame is modeled by finite elements using MSC/NASTRAN In order to consider the flexibility of frame. The torsional test of the frame is conducted In order to validate the modeled finite element model. A load cell is used to measure the load applied to the frame. An angle sensor is used to measure the torsional angle. An actuator is used to apply a load to the frame. To estimate the effects of frame's torsional characteristics on dynamic performance, simulations are performed with the flange mounting and web mounting frame. Simulation results show that the web mounting frame's variations of roll angle, lateral acceleration, and yaw rate are larger than the flange mounting frame's variations, especially in the high velocity and the second part of the double lane course.

  • A face-bow and an articulator have been used as crucial devices in a prosthodontic reconstruction of a collapsed occlusal plane. In order to avoid inaccuracy of median line in maxilla and the canted occlusal plane both of which may result from using a facebow with ear rods, a facebow that locate a patient's facial median line as reference line has been under development. A mounting technique that tries to bring a center of patient's face into line with the center of the articulator, called esthetic mounting, is currently employed to overcome the imprecision resulted from mounting with ear-bow transfer. We would like to study a case that used OP finder 1, one of the esthetic mounting techniques.

  • Recently active engine mounting system is developed for improvement of vehicle NVH performance which follow the development of high efficient powertrain and lightweight vehicle body. The most important part in the development of active engine mounting system is implementation of optimal engine mounting system to apply active engine mount. In this paper engine mounting systems including active engine mount are considered and their performance is predicted using engine mounting system analysis tool. Then optimal mounting system for active engine mount is proposed.

  • Rotary mountages are the best mountages among all the mountages that are used in sericultural areas. But to use this mountage more space, separate mounting hall & requires more labour to pickup the matured worms. to over come these problems, self mounting method is adopted to save the time Er labour, But the mounting rate is generally less. To accelerate the mounting rate different repellents viz; saw dust, phytoecdysone, 1% cresol with paddy husk, lime, kaolin, gormalin chaff were used in the present study. The results indicated that highest number of larvae climbed the mountage in 1% cresol with paddy husk, followed by phytoecdysone and lime. It is observed that the use of repellents at wandering stage accilerates mounting rate and did not affect the quality of the cocoons and reeling characters.

  • This paper contributes to development of a new chip mounting head system for flip chip. Recently, the LDM(Linear DC Motor) has been widely used, because it has particular merits than the rotary type motors. In this paper, we proposed a macro/micro positioning system for force control of a chip mounting system. In the proposed macro/micro system, the macro actuator provide the system with a gross motion while the micro device yields fine tuned motion to reduce the harmful impact force that occurs between very small sized electronic parts and PCB surface. In order to prove the effectiveness of the proposed macro/micro chip mounting system, we compared the proposed chip mounting head with the conventional chip mounting head equipped with a macro actuator only. A series of experiments were executed under the mounting conditions of various access velocities and PCB stiffness. As a result of this study, a satisfactory voice coil actuator as the micro actuator has been developed, and its performance meet well the specifications desired for the design of the chip mounting head system and show good correspondence between theoretical analysis and experimental results.

  • Accelerometer mounting fixtures were prepared with the different materials(Ti and SUS). The dynamic characteristics of the mounting fixture were analyzed by finite element method(FEM), and the mode shape of each order and the displacement response for modelling the mounting fixture were analyzed by ANSYS, then resonant frequencies of the mounting fixtures with Ti and SUS were 22.700 and 23.390 kHz, respectively. The dynamic characteristics of the mounting fixture with the different positions were obtained by using laser interferometer. The response of the accelerometer was nearly a constant from 40 Hz to 500 Hz, but the change of the acceleration was increased with an increase of the frequency above 500 Hz.

  • The FPCs(Flexible Printed Circuit) are currently used in several electronic products like digital cameras, cellular phones because of flexible material characteristics. Because the FPC is usually small size and flexible, only one FPC should not enter chip mounting process, instead, several FPCs are placed on the large rigid pallette and enter into the chip mounting process. Currently the job of mounting FPC on the pallette is carried by totally manual way. Thus, the goals of the research is develop the automatic machine of FPC mounting on pallette using vision alignment. Instead of using two cameras or using moving one camera, the proposed vision system with only one fixed camera is adopted. Moreover, the two picker heads which can handle two FPCs simultaneously are used to make process time shortened. The procedure of operation is firstly to measure alignment error of FPC, correct alignment errors, and finally mount well-aligned FPC on the pallette. The vision technology is used to measure alignment error accurately, and precision motion control is used in correcting errors and mounting FPC.

  • The vibration modes of resilient mounting system and foundation structure which support diesel engine/generator set and acoustic enclosure walls play an important role in the vibration transmission process. So, it is necessary to perform vibration mode analysis of resilient mounting system and foundation structure. For some reasons, if the vibration modal analysis of resilient mounting system and foundation structure of acoustic enclosure could be simultaneously done by finite element method, it would be very efficient approach. In this paper, vibration modal analysis method using finite element method for multi stage mounting system having n d.o.f model was proposed. Vibration analysis of single and double stage resilient mounting system was performed to verify the validity of the proposed method. Also frequency response results were compared in case of rigid foundation model and finite element foundation model which was compared with experimental modal analysis results.

  • Automatic detection of estrus in cows is important in cattle management. This paper proposes a method of estrus detection by automatically checking cattle mounting. We use a side-view video camera and apply computer vision techniques to detect mounting behavior. In particular, we extract motion information to select a potential mount-up and mount-down motion and then verify the true mounting behavior by considering the direction, magnitude, and history of the mount motion. From experimental results using video data obtained from a Korean native cattle farm, we believe that the proposed method based on the abrupt change of a mounting cow's height and motion history information can be utilized for detecting mounting behavior automatically, even in the case of fence occlusion.
