The Immersion Grating Infrared Spectrometer (IGRINS) is a near-infrared wide-band high-resolution spectrograph jointly developed by the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute and the University of Texas at Austin. IGRINS employs three HAWAII-2RG Focal Plane Array (H2RG FPA) detectors. We present the design and fabrication of the detector mount for the H2RG detector. The detector mount consists of a detector housing, an ASIC housing, a Field Flattener Lens (FFL) mount, and a support base frame. The detector and the ASIC housing should be kept at 65 K and the support base frame at 130 K. Therefore they are thermally isolated by the support made of GFRP material. The detector mount is designed so that it has features of fine adjusting the position of the detector surface in the optical axis and of fine adjusting yaw and pitch angles in order to utilize as an optical system alignment compensator. We optimized the structural stability and thermal characteristics of the mount design using computer-aided 3D modeling and finite element analysis. Based on the structural and thermal analysis, the designed detector mount meets an optical stability tolerance and system thermal requirements. Actual detector mount fabricated based on the design has been installed into the IGRINS cryostat and successfully passed a vacuum test and a cold test.

Underwater radiated noise is one of the vital factors in underwater weapon systems like submarine. A passive elastic mount is an effective reduction method for the vibration from a ship-board machinery transmitted to the hull which is radiated as noise outside the hull. A passive elastic mount shows the limitation on the vibration reduction and needs multi stage mounting system including double stage one to meet the required underwater radiated noise criteria. It is necessary for the multi stage mounting system to consider the large displacement in the underwater shock explosion. So it is difficult to apply the multi stage mounting system in submarine because of space limitation. Also recent navy sonar system are trying to have the capability to detect the ship-borne acoustic signals in the low frequency range. An alternative to the passive mount is an active mount with moving-coil type electromagnetic actuator based on a conventional rubber mount in the low frequency range. In the previous paper, 4 active mounts with moving-coil type electromagnetic actuator based on the rubber mount were installed on the hard floor of the facility, which means no consideration on the elastic foundation effect for the control of the active mounts was taken into account. In this study, an experimental performance analysis on the active mount was carried out using 4 active mounts installed on the cylindrical structure to investigate the elastic foundation effect.

Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute has been verifying the multipurpose laser tracking system with three functions of satellite laser tracking, adaptive optics and space debris laser tracking for not only scientific research but also national space missions. The system employs an optical telescope consisting of a 100 cm primary mirror and an altazimuth mount for fast and precise tracking. The precise pointing and tracking capability in a tracking mount is considered as one of important performance metrics in the fields of automatic tracking and precise application research. So it is required to analyze a mount model for investigating pointing error factors and compensating pointing error. In this study, we investigated various factors causing static pointing errors of tracking mount and analyzed the pointing accuracy of the tracking mount at Geochang observatory by estimating mount parameters based on the least square method.

This paper describes switching method of the cross-sectional area of the fluid passage way to improve the performance of a hydraulic engine mount with an inertia track and a decoupler. The mount has nonlinear dynamic characteristics depending on the vibrational frequency and amplitude. For the convenience of analysis, two linear motion equations were derived on the basis of the mechanical model according to the low-and high-frequencies. The properties of the transmissibility and dynamic stiffness derived from the equations were investigated according to switching the cross-sectional area of the inertia track and decoupler. Switching method of the cross-sectional area can be derived from the transmissibility plot. In comparison between transmissibility of passive and switchable mounts with an inertia track and a decoupler, the performance of the switchable mount is improved greatly than the passive mount. The resonant peak is remarkably reduced in the high frequency region.

Shipboard equipment in naval ships should be designed to be safe under the shock load. Very high stress due to the shock load can be effectively reduced by the resilient mounts considering the mount capacity and dynamic characteristics. An optimum arrangement of resilient mount installed to absorb the shock energy is addressed to assess the safety of ship structure and shipboard equipment subjected to the shock load. Structural responses are analyzed for both frame structure supporting the shipboard equipment subject to the shock load with and without the resilient mounts. The shock absorbability of the resilient mount is evaluated by the results of structural response analysis; meanwhile, several types of shock analyses considering the arrangement of resilient mounts are carried out and the shock responses are compared to verify the effect of the arrangement. Thereafter, optimum arrangements are obtained by means of Genetic algorithm (GA) considering the different capacities of resilient mount. Stress, deformation and dynamic feature at the frame structure supporting the shipboard equipment under the shock load are also discussed in order to meet the capacity of resilient mount.

This paper shows the optimum design of the fluid engine mount. The design has been modified by trial and error because there is many design parameters that can be varied in order to obtain resonant and notch frequencies, and notch depth. It seems to be a great application for optimal design for the mount. Many combinations of parameters are possible to give us the desired resonant and notch frequencies, but the question is which combination provides the lowest resonant peak and notch depth\ulcorner In this study, the enhanced artificial life algorithm is applied to get the desired notch frequency of a fluid mount and minimize transmissibility at the notch frequency. The present hybrid algorithm is the synthesis of an artificial life algorithm with the random tabu (R-tabu) search method. The hybrid algorithm has some advantages, which is not only faster than the conventional artificial life algorithm, but also gives a more accurate solution. In addition, this algorithm can find all global optimum solutions. The results show that the performance of a conventional engine mount can be improved significantly compared with the optimized mount.
This paper presents vibration control of a CD-ROM(compact disc-read only memory) drive feeding system consisting of a new type of CD-ROM mount using an electro-rheologocal(ER) fluid. Chemically treated starch particles and silicon oil are used for EF fluid, and its field-dependent yield stresses are experimentally distilled under both the shear and the flow modes. On the basis of the yield stress, an appropriate size of ER CD-ROM mount adapted to conventional feeding system is designed and manufactured. Vibration isolation performance of the proposed mount is evaluated in the frequency domain and compared with that of conventional rubber mount. The ER CD-ROM mount is then installed to the drive feeding system and the system equation of motion is derived. The skyhook controller is then incorporated with the fuzzy technique to improve the performance of ER CD-ROM mount. A set of fuzzy parameters and control rules are obtained from a relation between vertical displacement and pitching motion of the feedng system. Followingthe formulation of the fuzzy-skyhook controller, computer simulation is undertaken in order to evaluate vibration suppression of the CD-ROM drive feeding system subjected to various excitations.

This paper shows the optimal design methodology for the fluid engine mount by the artificial life algorithm. The design has been commonly modified by trial and error because there is many design parameters that can be varied in order to minimize transmissibility at the desired fundamental resonant and notch frequencies. The application of trial and error method to optimization of the fluid mount is a great work. Many combinations of parameters are possible to give us the desired resonant and notch frequencies, but the question is which combination Provides the lowest resonant peak and notch depth. In this study the enhanced artificial life algorithm is applied to get the desired fundamental resonant and notch frequencies of a fluid mount and to minimize transmissibility at these frequencies. The present hybrid algorithm is the synthesis of and artificial life algorithm with the random tabu (R-tabu) search method. The hybrid algorithm has some advantages, which is not only faster than the conventional artificial life algorithm, but also gives a more accurate solution. In addition, this algorithm can find all globa1 optimum solutions. The results show that the performance of the optimized mount compared with the original mount is improved significantly.

Passive-type control devices such as resilient mounts and wire rope isolators are generally used for protecting the shipboard equipment from shock loading and for suppressing the mechanical vibration of the equipment in naval ships. To improve the performance of the control device, a new hybrid mount is under development in this study. This mount consists of a passive-type rubber element and an active-type piezo-stack element. It can be expected that the mount has enhanced performance of about 20 dB or more with respect to transmissibility through a series of performance tests of prototype mount.
Semiconductor equipment manufacturers desire to enhance efficiency of Sub Fab to increase semiconductor productivity. For this reason, Sub Fab equipment manufacturers are developing Integrated System that combined modules with multiple facilities. Integrated System is required to apply Mount Leveler of Wedge Type in compliance with weight increase compared with existing single equipment and product shape change. This thesis analyzes main design variables of components of Wedge Mount Leveler and carries out structure analysis using ANSYS, finite element analysis program Analysis shows that main design variables of components of Wedge Mount Leveler has self-locking condition by friction force of Wedge and adjusting bolt. Each friction force hinges upon Wedge angle and Friction Coefficient of contact surface and upon the thread angle and Friction Coefficient of contact surface. Also, as a result of carrying out structure analysis of Wedge Mount Leveler, deflection and stress appears in different depending on the height of the level.
