  • The technology of supplying the electric power by wireless power transfer (WPT) is expected for the next generation power feeding system since it can supply the power to portable devices without any connectors through large air gap. As such a technology based on strongly coupled electromagnetic resonators is possible to deliver the large power and recharge them seamlessly; it has been considered as a noble option to wireless power charging system in the various power applications. Recently, various HTS wires have now been manufactured for demonstrations of transmission cables, motors, MAGLEV, and other electrical power components. However, since the HTS magnets have a lower index n value intrinsically, they are required to be charged from external power system through leads or internal power system. The portable area is limited as well as the cryogen system is bulkier. Thus, we proposed a novel design of wireless power charging system for superconducting HTS magnet (WPC4SM) based on resonance coupling method. As the novel system makes possible a wireless power charging using copper resonance coupled coils, it enables to portable charging conveniently in the superconducting applications. This paper presented the conceptual design and operating characteristics of WPC4SM using different shapes' copper resonance coil. The proposed system consists of four components; RF generator of 370 kHz, copper resonance coupling coils, impedance matching (IM) subsystem and HTS magnet including rectifier system.

  • As the need of electric motor is increased rapidly throughout our society, the various application fields are created and the service market called robot gets expanded as well as the existing industrial market. Out of those, the joint systems such as humanoid that is servo actuator for position control or all fields which require multi-degree of freedom (multi-DOF) require the development of innovative actuator. It is multi-DOF spherical motor that can replace the existing system in multi-DOF operating system. But, multi-DOF spherical motor that has been researched up to date is at the stage which is insufficient in performance or mechanical practicality yet. Thus, first of all the research results and limitation of the previously-researched guide frame-type spherical motors were analyzed and then the feature of double air-gap spherical motor which was devised to complement that was studied. The double air-gap multi-DOF spherical motor is very suitable spherical motor for system applying which requires the multi-DOF operation due to its simple structure that does not require other guide frame as well as performance improvement due to its special shape which has two air-gaps. So, the validity of the study was verified by designing and producing it with 3D-FEM through the exclusive jig for multi-DOF spherical motor.

  • 고전압 전력설비 진단은 기기의 열화 상태를 측정하여 이상 사고를 미리 예측하여 방지하는 것을 목적으로 실시한다. 고전압 전력설비의 유지관리 방안은 일정 시간 경과후 보수하는 개념(TBM: Time Based Maintenance) 이후 설비의 상태를 진단하여 유지보수 방안을 결정하는 개념(CBM: Condition Based Maintenance)으로 진보해 감에 따라 전력설비의 상태진단 기술의 중요성은 증대될 전망이다. 고전압 전력설비의 절연진단은 직류시험(절연저항, PI)과 교류시험($tan{\delta}$, PD)이 실시되며 과거 진단 데이터의 추세분석을 통한 정확한 상태진단이 요구되고 있다. 고압 유도 전동기 절연진단 데이터 관리 전산화 모델은 고전압 전력기기(발전기, 변압기, 전동기, 케이블 등)의 절연진단 및 유지보수 이력에 관한 자료들을 저장, 조회 및 검색을 하기 위한 데이터베이스를 구축하고 구축된 데이터를 활용하여 과거 이력조회, 추이분석, 진단 데이터의 분석기법을 통한 전력기기의 상태평가로 합리적인 개 대체 의사결정을 지원한다. 또한, 유입식 변압기의 절연유 가스분석 알고리즘을 전산화 하여 10종 가연성 가스에 따른 Gas Pattern 평가로 고장 원인, 현상 및 조치 등에 대한 출력이 가능한 프로그램의 개발로 고전압 전력설비 진단기술과 IT기술의 융 복합 기술로서 고전압 전력설비의 유지관리 기술을 한 차원 더 진보시킬 것으로 판단된다.

Fault Diagnosis of Voltage-Fed Inverters Using Pattern Recognition Techniques for Induction Motor Drive (패턴인식 기법을 이용한 유도전동기 구동용 전압형 인버터의 고장진단)

  • Since an unexpected fault of induction motor drive systems can cause serious troubles in many industrial applications, which the technique is required to diagnose faults of a voltage-fed PWM inverter for induction motor drives. The considered fault types are rectifier diodes, switching devices and input terminals with open-circuit faults, and the signal for diagnosis is derived from motor currents. The magnitude of dq-current trajectory is used for the feature extraction of a fault and PCA LDA are applied to diagnose. Also, we show results with respect to the execution time because of the possibility to use that a diagnosis software is embedded in the controllers of medium and small size induction motors drive for real-time diagnosis. After we performed various simulations for the fault diagnosis of the inverter, the usefulness of proposed algerian was verified.

  • To analyze influences under faults caused by a stator winding short and to evaluate an effectiveness of a diagnostic algorithm a faulty model for an inverter-driven permanent magnet synchronous motor is presented. Even though the conventional dq motor model obtained through the transformation of phase voltage model is widely used to analyze and control the motor, it can not be used in the analysis of a faulty motor since the 3-phase balanced condition is no longer hold under the fault caused by a stator winding short, and thus, it is very difficult to obtain motor input voltages from the pole voltage of an inverter. To overcome this problem, a faulty model for an inverter-driven permanent magnet synchronous motor is proposed by considering the line voltage of 3-phase variables. The effectiveness of the proposed faulty model is verified through comparative simulations and experiments using DSP TMS320F28335 and motor built to allow a partial short of inter-turn.

  • In this experiment, the cutter head was designed as the down-scaled shape from the cutter head of the Asan-3 of Hyundai Construction Company. The dredging simulation instrument was installed in the experiment water tank which has the dimension of $4.2m(L){\times}2.2m(W){\times}1.5m(H)$. The speed of all components were controlled manually through the hydraulic tool and motors to find the effective desilting condition. As the results, the experiment was conducted to find the optimate dredging cutter head operation rate. To compare the factors which effect on the dredging effectiveness, the dimensionless dredging volume ratio was introduced and it can be found the best effectiveness at 2.0 m/s suction speed, 8 cm dredging depth and 4~4.5 dimensionless dredging volume ratio. Therefore, in order to take the best effectiveness these 3 components factors should be adequately considered.

  • Last 1970's Korea opened the Kyoung-bu highways from Seoul to Pusan, and Korea government had change the transportation policy to focusing on the road and motors. but 1990's Korea had been the heavily traffic jam in long distant transportation system and logistics. That's why Korea government studied on feasibility survey of High-speed train. As the KTX opens, traffic networks covering large areas in Kyeongbu-line(Seoul-Daejeon-Busan) are expected to raise synergy effects in economics as well as in korean culture respects. Having been playing an important transportation role in Korea for the last 106 years. With opening of the high speed railway, KORAIL in inevitable to make a drastic reform. To achieve this purpose, it is necessary that KORAIL bas to be small and effective streamlined organization. In should increase traffic capacity by improving infra facilities. It need to also expand its internal functions by connecting the KTX with the conventional railroad system.

  • This paper describes sensorless speed control of brushless DC motors by using direct torque control. Direct torque control offers fast torque response, robust specification of parameter changes, and lower hardware and processing costs compared to vector-controlled drives. In this paper, the current error compensation method is applied to the sensorless speed control of a brushless DC motor. Through this control technique, the controlled stator voltage is applied to the brushless DC motor such that the error between the stator currents in the mathematical model and the actual motor can be forced to decay to zero as time proceeds, and therefore, the motor speed approaches the setting value. This paper discusses the composition of the controller, which can carry out robust speed control without any proportional-integral (PI) controllers. The simulation results show that the control system has good dynamic speed and load responses at wide ranges of speed.

  • Type II compressed natural gas(CNG) storage vessels for automobiles have been acknowledged for their excellence and have recently become established in local regions. Their supply is not only to automakers in Korea such as Hyundai Motors but they are being increasingly exported. Although the available products have undergone safety evaluations and are certified by an authorized institution they are still short of the optimal design that is possible for such storage vessels. This research investigates the shape and thickness of the dome with the aim of optimizing the type II CNG storage vessels by using a finite element analysis technique. CNG storage vessels can be largely divided into 3 parts namely, the hear part, the cylinder part and the dome part. The head part is designed by means of a hot spinning process and this method is safer than that used in the design of the dome part even though its shape is similar. The thickness of the liners and reinforcing materials was optimized based on the requirements of the cylinder and dome parts. In addition, the shape of the dome, which is most suitable for Type II CNG storage vessels, is proposed by a process of review and analysis of various existing shape, and then conducting a structural stability evaluation to ensure the optimal design plan.

Displacement Error Estimation of a High-Precision Large-Surface Micro-Grooving Machine Based on Experimental Design Method and Finite Element Analysis (실험계획법과 유한 요소해석을 이용한 초정밀 대면적 미세 그루빙 머신의 변위 오차 예측)

  • In this study, to minimize trial and error in the design and manufacturing processes of a high-precision large-surface micro-grooving machine which is able to fabricate the molds for 42 inch LCD light guide panels, the effects of the structural deformation of the micro-grooving machine according to the positions of the X-axis, Y-axis and Z-axis feed systems were examined on the tool tip displacement errors associated with the machining accuracy. The virtual prototype (finite element model) of the micro-grooving machine was constructed to include the joint stiffnesses of the hydrostatic bearings, hydrostatic guideways and linear motors, and then the tool tip displacement errors were measured from the virtual prototype. Especially, to establish the prediction model of the tool tip displacement errors, which was constructed using the positions of the X-axis, Y-axis and Z-axis feed systems as independent variables, the response surface method based on the central composite design was introduced. The reliability of the prediction model was verified by the fact that the tool tip displacement errors obtained from the prediction model coincided well those measured from the virtual prototype. And the causes of the tool tip displacement errors were identified through the analysis of interactions between the positions of the X-axis, Y-axis and Z-axis feed systems.
