The food delivery platform labor market has been continuing to grow rapidly in Korea, which resulted in traffic accident increases of delivery riders. To prevent traffic accidents while delivery, this study conducted a survey for 462 delivery riders and analyzed the statistical relationships of delivery characteristics and risk perception with delivery accidents. The results of this study revealed that riders with young age (20s: 46.6%) and/or low delivery experience (less than 1 year: 50.6%) had significantly higher proportion of accident experience than other age groups (over 40s: 36.2%) and high delivery experience (more than 2 years: 36.4%). In addition, side job riders (61.5%) showed significantly higher proportion of accident experience than main job riders (39.1%). The riders with accident experience had more number of deliveries per hour (weekday: 3.56, weekend: 3.91) than the riders without accident experience (weekday: 3.29, weekend: 3.68). Lastly, the riders with accident experience rated significantly higher perceived level of risk on weather, violation of traffic laws, uninspected motorcycle, receiving calls while driving, missing safety training, missing personal protective equipment than the riders without accident experience. This study suggested four aspects based on the study results to prevent traffic accidents for delivery riders.
This research represents the catalytic converter for application in the motorcycle. Present research model type is monolithic catalytic converter and this type have been widely used for satisfaction on and the regulations of pollutant emissions in automobiles. The flow characteristics in a single monolith automotive catalytic converter were investigated by using a computational simulation method without chemical reaction. So we limit the discussion to the effect of flow uniformity in the catalytic converter. Simulation result shows that the flow uniformity of megaphone type catalytic converter is higher than that of a base type. Therefore, the megaphone type is more suitable to motorcycle.
This study investigates the characteristics of spray, such as evaporation rate and spray trajectory, for a 4-hole injector which is applied to a 4-valve motorcycle gasoline engine. Three dimensional, unsteady, compressible flow and spray within the intake-port and cylinder have been simulated using the VECTIS code. Spray characteristics were investigated at 6000 rpm engine speed. Furthermore, we visualized fuel behavior in the intake-port using a CCD camera synchronized with a stroboscope in order to compare with the analytical results. Boundary and intial conditions were employed by complete 1-D simulation of the engine using the WAVE code. Fuel was injected into the intake-port at two time intervals relative to the position of the intake valves so that the spray arrived when the valves were closed and fully open. The results showed that the trajectory of the spray was directed towards the lower wall of the port with injection against the closed valves. With open valve injection, a large portion of the fuel was lifted by the co-flowing air towards the upper half of the port and this was confirmed by simulation and visualization.
The effect of manufacturing parameters on friction characteristics of motorcycle break system was studied using a disk-on-pad type friction tester. Such parameters conditions have an effect on the frictional factor such as applied load, sliding speed, and number of ventilated disk hole. However, it is difficult to know the mutual relation of these factors. In this study, the friction characteristics using design of experiment containing 3 elements were investigated for an optimal condition for the best motorcycle break system employing Full factorial design. From this study, the result was shown that the applied load in frictional factors was the most important, next to sliding speed, number of ventilated disk hole.
This research represents the catalytic converter for application in the motorcycle. Present research model type is a monolithic catalytic converter and this type has been widely used for satisfaction on and the regulations of pollutant emissions in automobiles. The experiment range is found for light-off temperature time of the catalyst converter. And we has to experiment for effective area of catalytic monolith. The experimental result indicated an increase effective area in the catalytic monolith. Specialty, it was found from the result that the more positive effect from result of thermal image camera in the megaphone model. The rate of effective area for base model was about 8.97% and megaphone model was 41.52%, 34.60%, 33.43%, 25.43% and 17.82% on the diffuser angle $4^{\circ}$ to $8^{\circ}$. Comparing with base type, megaphone type has more suitable for application to motorcycle.

In each country, efforts are being made to replace engine-driven cars and motorcycles using fossil fuels with electric drive. Electrically driven vehicles have the advantage of no harmful gas or environmental pollution and low noise. In the motorcycle market, China accounts for more than 95% of the world, and the electric motorcycle market is being revitalized due to the strengthening of regulations. Japan is actively preparing to include electric motorcycles in ISO 26262, forming a TF team centered on electric motorcycle producers. Therefore, it is necessary to respond to standardization targeting China and Japan in Korea. In this study, we propose a proprietary transmission model that can be applied to small electric vehicles that can be operated in hilly domestic terrain. The proposed continuously variable transmission model is a continuously variable transmission system which moves the pin between the basic disk and the rotary disk using a spline to perform shifting. The proposed continuously variable transmission model is used in the pulley configuration by connecting the linear type spline and the inclined spline with the central axis of the basic disk and the rotational disk, respectively. In addition, it can be divided into two types according to the application of the auxiliary disk, and the production drawing is completed for the practical use of the model.
Background: Occupational safety issues related to food delivery riders emerge with evidence of an increase in associated traffic accidents and injuries along with the rapid growth of the online food delivery business. This paper focuses on food delivery riders' job stress and investigates its relationships with both antecedents and risky riding outcomes. Method: Survey data were collected from 279 Taiwanese food delivery motorcycle riders and analyzed using hierarchical regression analysis. Results: The results show that job overload and time pressure positively impact riders' job stress, while self-efficacy slightly reduces job stress. Job stress positively leads to risky driving behavior and distraction. In addition, time pressure can strengthen the impact of job overload on job stress. Riders' risky riding attitude can also strengthen the impacts of job stress on risky riding behaviors and distraction. Conclusion: This paper advances the literature on online food delivery as well as the occupational safety improvement of food delivery riders. Specifically, this study provides insights into the job stress of food delivery motorcycle riders and the effects of job characteristics and risky behavioral consequences.
