Vibration Exciter Design for Flow Resonance (유동공진을 위한 가진기 설계)

  • Heat dissipation technology using flow resonant phenomenon is a kind of new concept in heat transfer area. A vibration exciter is needed to generate air turbulence which has the natural shedding frequency of heat system. A mechanical vibrating device for the air flow oscillation is introduced, which is driven by a moving coil actuator. An analytical dynamic model for this mechanical vibration exciter is presented and its validity is verified by the comparison with experimental data. Values of some unknown system parameters in the analytic model are estimated through the system identification approach. Based on this mathematical model, a high bandwidth vibration phase, it turns out the high modal resonant characteristics of vibrating plate are the major barrier against obtaining a high bandwidth vibration exciter.

  • Three-dimensional ultrasonic probes being applied to the medical imaging can be grouped into three depending on the scanning methods, which are a mechanical type system, a free-hand system, and 2D phased arrays system. A mechanical type scanner uses a mechanically driven transducer to acquire series of 2D plane images. By integrating these images, a 3-D medical image can be constructed. A motor driving mechanism is a conventional choice for mechanically driving a transducer assembly which picks the raw ultrasonic images up. In this paper we attempt to design a 3D ultrasonic probe which has a operating mechanism of s tilting 3-D scanning. The motion of a transducer assembly of the ultrasonic probe is analytically modelled. We propose a selection procedure for the diameter of a wire rope driving the transducer assembly and the size of torsional spring which gives an initial tension to wire ropes.

  • In this paper, the authors benchmark a servo valve model for the fuel supply system of Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) in the KHP helicopter. This valve is directly driven with a torque motor, and the size of small gap controlled by a flapper can make change of flow rate under given pressure drop between inlet and outlet. CFD analyses using a commercial code, ANSYS-CFX 10 are performed for the series of three-dimensional models at various openness conditions. The computational results on simplified models show that CFD can play a fine roll in the design of flow path as well as in the estimation of flow force due to its precision and good repeatability. Consequently, the CFD analysis helps valve designers to understand its flow characteristics from the basis of physical fundamentals.

  • This paper deals with the issue of position tracking control of a clamp-cylinder for injection moulding machine with electric-hydrostatic drives. A fixed displacement pump is utilized in combination with AC motor in order to directly control a clamp-cylinder. A clamp-cylinder may be required to operate under a variety of operating conditions. Therefore, robust control performance is important in position tracking control applications. In order to accommodate mismatches between the real plant and the model used for controller design, discrete-time sliding mode control is developed by combining a velocity feedforward loop. From tracking control experiments, it is shown that significant reduction in position tracking error is achieved through the use of sliding mode control.

  • 유도전동기 구동용 공진형 직류링크 인버터의 공진링크 회로와 제어기 설계를 종합적으로 시도하였으며 기존의 해석적 방법의 설계를 보완하기 위하여 SPICE 시뮬레이션에 기초한 설계를 수행하였다. 공진형 직류링크 인버터의 핵심이 되는 공진 링크단의 설계와 공진링크 초기 전류의 최적제어, 인버터 출력의 제어방식 그리고 클램핑 스위치에 저어방식 등에 대한 설계에 있어서 SPICE 에서의 검증과 조정을 통해 실용적 설계와 동작에 대한 예측실험이 가능함을 제시하였다. 이의 타당성을 증명하기 위해서 실험용 공진형 인버터를 구성하여 동작을 확인하였다.

A Study on the Analysis on the Direct-Driven High Power Permanent Magnet Generator for Wind Turbine

  • In the paper, the permanent magnet synchronous generator of 1.5[MW] output power which is driven directly without gear system is designed by conventional magnetic equivalent circuit method and analyzed by finite element method. We analyzed the characteristics of generator like no load, rated load, short circuit condition and demagnetization of permanent magnet in order to verify the design results by magnetic circuit method. The last, the analysis results of two kinds of rotor types are compared with each other. Especially the THD(total harmonic distortion) of output voltage is examined for the comparison.

  • The single phase switched reluctance motor(SRM) has many merits in practical appliance because it has simple operating drive and control system, very high energy density per unit volume comparing with three phase SRM. But it has also problems to need a starting device and to generate the torque ripple. One of the major problems is a torque ripple which causes increased undesirable acoustic noise and speed ripple. This paper describes an approach to determine a rotor type to minimize the torque ripple.

  • This paper presents the design and development of web control algorithm of continuous process control system using vector inverter. The Diameter of web is calculated, tension is controlled by PID control and the speed reference of motor is calculated at current diameter. The performance of web control in this paper is verified by experiment.

  • This paper proposed a hydraulic pump system that is driven by a variable SR drive. The operating pressure of hydric pump is limited by the pump speed and the mechanical structure. The operating of hydraulic pump is separated as constant pressure and constant flow region. Under fixed speed, the pressure can be controlled as constant value, and then decreased by increasing of pump speed. A 2.2[kW], 12/8-pole SR motor and DSP based digital controller are designed and tested for hydraulic pump system. The test results show that the system has some good features such as high efficiency and high response characteristics.
