  • Chemical structure and electrical characteristics of 5 commercial crosslinked polyethylenes (XLPE) used as insulating materials for medium voltage distribution power cables in Korea were investigated. It was found that each XLPE shows different properties depending on the type of XLPE. Chemical structural irregularities of pellets change considerably by crossliking reaction, with some irregularities being disappeared after crosslikeng reaction. It was also found through a solvent extraction study that additives such as crosslinking agent and antioxidants act as major source retarding water tree growth. Low molecular weight polyethylene chains plays a different role in water tree growth of XLPE.

  • The azobenzene dendrimer is one of the dendrimeric macromolecules that include the azo-group exhibiting a photochromic character. Due to the presence of the charge transfer element of the azo-group and its rod-shaped structure, these compounds are expected to have potential interest in electronics and photoelectronics, especially in nonlinear optics. In the present paper, we give pressure stimulation to organic thin films and detect the induced displacement current. Functional photoisometrization organic molecular the photo-stimulus to organic monomolecular L films and LB films of dendrimer and SASH were performed. The SASH organic monolayer in case of pressure stimulus occurred that positive course but in case of the photo-stimulus compared positive and negative. It is assumed that generation forms of displacement current were measured when photo-stimulus for impression.

  • This paper studied succinic acid recovery from organic acid mixture by using mono-polar membrane electrodialysis. Current efficiency, solute recovery efficiency, energy consumption, and separation factor were measured at various pHs and concentration ratios. The separation factor of succinic acid could be interpreted in terms of ionization degree, molecular weight, ionic conductance, average charge, and initial feed composition.

  • Plasma polymerized thin film was prepared using an interelectrod inductively coupled gas-flow-type reactor. Styrene was chosen as the monomer to be used. This thin films were also delineated by the electron-beam apparatus with an acceleration voltage 30kV, and the pattern in the resist was developed with RIE 80 with argon gas mixture ratio, pressure and RF power. The effect of charge of discharge power on growth rate and etching rate of the thin films were studied. The molecular structure of thin films were investigated by FIR and then was discussed in relation to its quality as a resist. In the case of Plasma polymerization, thickness of resist could be controlled by discharge duration and power. Also etch rate is increased as to growing argon gas and RF power with RIE 80.

  • We have studied conduction mechanism that is interpreted in terms of space charge limited current (SCLC) region and tunneling region. The OLEDs are based on the molecular compounds, N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-bis(3-methylphenyl)-1,1'-biphenyl-4,4'-diamine (TPD) as a hole transport, tris (8-hydroxyquinolinoline) aluminum(III) $(Alq_3)$ as an electron injection and transport and emitting layer. We manufactured reference structure that has in $ITO/TPD/Alq_3/Al$. Buffer layer effects were compared to reference structure. And we have analyzed out electrical conduction mechanism in $ITO/Alq_3/Al$ device with various temperature.

  • The electronic and adsorption structures of Mg and p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene (p-TBCA) adsorbed onto a Ge(100) surface under a variety of sample conditions were characterized using high-resolution photoemission spectroscopy (HRPES) and their corresponding DFT calculation results. Interestingly, after 0.10 ML p-TBCA molecules had been adsorbed onto a Ge(100) surface, subsequent adsorption of a small amount of metallic Mg (~0.10 ML) resulted in the formation of a capped structure inside the pre-adsorbed p-TBCA molecules. The adsorption structures resulting from further deposition of Mg (~0.50 ML) onto the Ge(100) surface were monitored based on the surface charge state and Mg 2s core level spectrum. Work function measurements clearly indicated the electronic structures of the Mg and p-TBCA adsorbed onto the Ge(100) surface. Moreover, we confirmed that three different adsorption structures are experimentally favorable at room temperature through DFT calculation results.

  • The patterning and doping technique enables graphene to replace the metal electrode as a charge injection layer in the pentacene based thin film transistor. However, it is known that pentacene molecules form lying-down coordination on the graphene surface. Pentacene thin film showed that the highly occupied molecular orbital is 0.2~0.4 eV lower in the standing up coordination than in the lying down coordination. Here, we report the formation of standing-up coordination and lowered HOMO level of the pentacene layer grown on the graphene layer doped with CYTOP.

  • Radionuclide therapy has been used for more than 50 years and proved to be a safe and effective modality. However, the patients' right to have the excellent medical service is seriously disturbed by excessive regulations of government institutions such as Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety (KINS), Health Insurance Review Agency (HIRA) and Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). For example, the patients should wait for more than 6 months to have I-131 treatment in many hospitals it is strongly recommended to mitigate the regulations to resonable levels to solve the problems. If HIRA allow the hospitals to charge reasonable rate for radionuclide therapy room, then more hospitals would invest to build the radionuclide therapy rooms and the patients' waiting time would decrease. The waiting time would also decrease, if KINS allow 2 patients to share a radionuclide therapy room. Finally, it is strongly recommended to lower the threshold for approval of new therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals by KFDA, which would allow new effective therapeutic raoiopharmaceuticals to be introduced to clinical practices more easily.
