  • In this paper, the temperature distribution and thermal stress analysis of 50kVA pole cast resin transformer for power distribution are investigated by FEM program. The one body molding model (Model 1) and air duct model (Model 2) are designed and their temperature distribution are analysed. The temperature rise value is about 105.5 deg in the model 1 and 65.28 de in the model 2. The temperature change of secondary winding is more than primary winding according to load ratio. The concentration part of Von Mises Stress occurs at interface between glass fiber and epoxy.

  • Normal zone propagation(NZP) characteristics were investigated on Ag sheathed Bi-2223 tape and cylindrical stacked conductor. Normal zone propagation(N2P) experiments with tape were conducted with refrigerator in temperature from 45 K to 77 K, 0 T. Cylindrical stacked conductor was molding with epoxy and experiments were conducted with adiabatic condition in $LN_2$. NZP velocities of tape with two condition of DC and AC were almost same at each temperature. NZP velocities of cylindrical stacked conductor were 1.9-2.4 cdsec in $LN_2$. Numerical analysis was carried out by a one-dimensional heat balance equation. As a result, simulated results of NZP velocity with Bi-2223 tape were similar to experimental results in DC.

  • Nano-structured tungsten carbide compacts with cobalt matrices (WC-Co) offer new opportunities for achieving superior hardness and toughness combinations. A unified modeling and simulation tool has been developed to produce maps of sintering pathways from nanocrystalline WC powder to sintered nano-structured WC-Co compacts. This tool includes (1) die compaction, (2) grain growth, (3) densification, (4) sensitivity analysis, and (5) optimization. All material parameters were obtained by curve fitting based on results with two WC-Co powders. Critical processing parameters are determined based on sensitivity analysis and are optimized to minimize grain size with high density.

  • Capacities of screw are pumping, steady flow of polymer melts, volumetric efficiency, steady volumetric throughout etc. they are affected by geometry of screw, heat flux, pressure on inside barrel, rotating velocity, friction coefficient at screw surface etc. Also the temperature of polymer melts by heating pad and injection pressure play a very important role in the injection molding machine. by computation volumetric efficiency increases as rotating velocity increases, flight number increses, and decreases as friction coefficient increases. but volumetric throughout is different :s flight number increases with helix angle variability. so in this paper we analyze thermal distortion and stress of screw includes pressure and temperature distributions by finite element analysis to understand what design factors influence on thermo-mechanical characteristics of screw.

  • Insert-injection molding can inject two different materials or two colors in the same mold and process. If this injection process use, product has ability because the base part maintain strength and specified part can inject soft-material. It makes the cost down by single operation automatically for saving wages. In this paper, we designed double-injection mold for automobile remote control to inject secondary using this part as insert after inject external appearance of product. CAE analysis was progressed gate location and runner size as variable and analysis result is reflected in mold design process. As a result, it could solved badness that is generated at the conventional mold. Additionally, cost is downed by reducing loss of runner as well as could omit painting process because surface of finished product is improved through new mold.

  • The penalty method has been widely applied to analyses of incompressible fluid flow. However, we have not yet found any prior studies that employed penalty method to analyze compressible fluid flow. In this study, with an eye on the apparent similarity between the slight compressible formulation and the penalty formulation, we have proposed a modified approximate approach that can analyze compressible packing process using the penalty parameter, which is an improvement on an earlier formulation (KSME, 2004B). Based on the assumption of the isothermal flow, a set of reference solutions was obtained to verify the validity of the proposed scheme. Furthermore, we have applied the proposed scheme to the analysis of the packing process of different cases.

  • This paper presents the results of a visualization analysis of the correlation between the fiber orientation and flow pattern in injection molding using the Gate-magnetization method developed for the precise visualization of melt flow. The results of the comparisons of the fiber orientation angles with the flow patterns by the Gate-Magnetization method for GPPS mixed with glass fibers show the strong correlation between the flow patterns and fiber orientation angles. According to forward movement of the flow, the fiber orientation patterns move toward the side walls following the flow patterns. These results elucidate that fibers are oriented in the expansion process of the melt, and ...

  • Nanoimprint lithography (NIL) is a next generation technology for fabrication of micrometer and nanometer scale patterns. There have been considerable attentions on NIL due to its potential abilities that enable cost-effective and high-throughput nanofabrication to the display device and semiconductor industry. Up to now there have been a lot of researches on thermal NIL, but most of them have been focused on polymer deformation in the molding process and there are very few studies on the cooling and demolding process. In this paper a cooling process of the polymer resist in thermal NIL is analyzed with finite element method. The modeling of cooling process for mold, polymer resist and substrate is developed. And the cooling process is numerically investigated with the effects of imprinting temperature and residual layer thickness of polymer resist on stress distribution of the polymer resist. The results show that the lower imprinting temperature, the higher the maximum von Mises stress and that the thicker the residual layer, the greater maximum von Mises stress.

  • An effort has been made to more accurately analyze the flow in the chip cavity, particularly to model the flow through the openings in the leadframe and correctly treat the thermal boundary condition at the leadframe. The theoretical analysis of the flow has been done by using the Hele- Shaw approximation in each cavity separated by a leadframe. The cross-flow through the openings in the leadframe has been incorporated into the Hele-Shaw formulation as a mass source term. The temperature of the leadframe has been calculated based on energy balance in the leadframe. The flow behavior in the leadframe has been verified experimentally. In the experiment, a transparent mold and clear fluid have been used for flow visualization. Comparisons were made between the calculation and experimental results which showed a good agreement.

  • This study uses finite element analysis to evaluate the forming load of tool entrance angle of the cold forward extrusion molding process of helical gear; this can replace the spur gear applied to the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) system. A cold forging process is often used in the automobile industry as well as in various industrial machines due to its high efficiency. Finite element analysis is frequently used when interpreting results of the forging process. Formality was evaluated by calculating tooth profile filling rate of helical gear. Change in required forming load was investigated when the entrance angle of forward extrusion tool die was changed from $30^{\circ}$ to $60^{\circ}$, also by finite element analysis. We suggest suitable tool entrance angles.
