수정욕창위험 사정도구의 예측타당도 평가 (Evaluating the Predictive Validity for the New Pressure Sores Risk Assessment Scale)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was To exam the skin and pressure sore and To evaluate the predictive validity for the new pressure sores risk assessment scale. Method: There was finally 211 neurosurgery subject admitted in Chung-Ang Univ. Hospital from Nov, 11, 2002 to Feb, 11, 2003. Data was collected three times per week from 48-72hr after admission until incidence of pressure sores or discharge or die. Inclusion criteria were; (1) no pressure sores at admittance, (2) at least 3 times assessment, (3) adults older than 16yrs, (4) patients consent to participate in study. Result: 1. 34 case of 211 developed pressure sores(11.6%). 2. The coccyx area was the most common occurrence site of pressure sores. 3. At the cutoff point 23 of sensitivity 100%, specificity 76.3% was higher in 2003 than specificity 63.8% at the cutoff point 26 of sencitivity 100% in 1991. 4. "Moisture" of subscale for pressure sores risk factor was the strongest predictor. Conclusion: This study shows that the New Pressure Sores Risk Assessment Scale still predict the risk of developing pressure sores in neurosurgical subject.

효모의 환경내성에 대하여 1 (A Study on Environmental Tolerances of Yeast)

  • Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain M was cultured in a molasses-containing media with repeated transplantations of the yeasts from one culture to another to adapt to molasses. After that only different amounts of phosphorous and nitrogen sources were added to the media. And then some variations during the culture time and the effects of consituents of cell mass on the functional activity and sensitivity of the cell were investigated. The results obtained were summarized as follows : 1. In the same culture condition of yeasts, the carbohydrates and trehaloses contents were more remarkably increased when small amounts of phosphate and nitrogen sources were added, then when alrge amounts were added, but yield percentage on assimilated sugars was lower. 2. The content of trehalose in yeast cells was reduced remarkably at the early stage in the culture, but this increased remarkably at later stage. When small amounts of nitrogen and phosphate were added to the culture medium, the amount of thehalose in the cells increased greasly. 3. The more protein content was present in the yeast cells, the smaller the carbohydrate and trehalose content, but more amino-N, RNA and moisture content were present in the cells. And in this case fermentability of the cells was stronger, but sugar tolerance was lower. 4. During the preservation period of compressed yeast cells at different temperature, the higher the temperature was, the more rapidly the amount of trehalose in the cells decreased. And in the cell where the amount of trehalose in the cells decreased. And in the cell where the amount of trehalose(carbohydrate) was large and the amount of protein was small, the amount of trehalose decreased at a slower rate during the preservation period.

내환경성 금속인식 정보단말기에 관한 연구 (Data Terminal for Metal Detection Application in Hazardous Environment)

  • 고온다습하며 이물질이 존재하는 일반적인 금속감지 기술이 적용되기 어려운 환경에서도 사용할 수 있는 금속위치감지 방법을 제안한다. 섭씨 300도가 넘는 환경에서는 마이크로웨이브, 초음파, 광파를 매체로 하는 일반적인 송수신용 전자소자를 사용하는 금속감지 센서는 전자소자의 동작온도 범위를 넘어서므로 적용하는데 어려움이 있었다. 본 연구에서는 금속감지를 위하여 노출되는 면에는 수동소자를 사용하고 전자파를 금속 위치감지에 이용하는 기법을 사용한 금속의 위치감지 장치에서 전자파의 주파수, 감지거리가 금속감지 센서의 감도에 미치는 영향을 측정하였다. 측정된 결과는 500mm 간격에서도 1mm 해상도를 갖고 위치를 감지할 수 있으며 고온에서도 금속의 위치 측정이 가능함을 보여주었다.

고장력강 용접열영향부의 지연균열에 미치는 개재물의 영향 (Effect of Non-metallic Inclusions on Heat Affected Zone Delayed Cracking of High Strength Steels by Hydrogen)

  • The effect of non-metallic inclusions on the HAZ hydrogen induced cracking was investigated. Quench and temper high tensile strength steels containing various sulphur contents were employed. The sulphur contents range between 0.007% and 0.040%. Non-metallic inclusions were mainly MnS type sylphide and Mn-Al-Si type. The sensitivity of HAZ delayed cracking was evaluated by implant testing. Diffusible hydrogen content was varied by controlling the moisture absorbing condition of manual arc welding electrodes. The one was asreceived condition, the other was dipping the electrodes in the water for ten minutes. The main results obtained were as follows; 1) The results of implant test showed that critical stress increased with increasing S content up to 0.013%. But steel containing 0.040%S showed lower critical stress than that of 0.013% S. These result suggest that there will be optimum S content to prevent HAZ delayed cracking of high strength steels. 2) Under the lower D.H.C. level, critical stress was increased with rolling reduction, but higher D.H.C. level, effect of rolling reduction was not recognized.

Modeling the sensitivity of hydrogeological parameters associated with leaching of uranium transport in an unsaturated porous medium

  • The uranium ore residues from the legacies of past uranium mining and milling activities that resulted from the less stringent environmental standards along with the uranium residues from the existing nuclear power plants continue to be a cause of concern as the final uranium residues are not made safe from radiological and general safety point of view. The deposition of uranium in ponds increases the risk of groundwater getting contaminated as these residues essentially leach through the upper unsaturated geological formation. In this context, a numerical model has been developed in order to forecast the $^{238}U$ and its progenies concentration in an unsaturated soil. The developed numerical model is implemented in a hypothetical uranium tailing pond consisting of sandy soil and silty soil types. The numerical results show that the $^{238}U$ and its progenies are migrating up to the depth of 90 m and 800 m after 10 y in silty and sandy soil, respectively. Essentially, silt may reduce the risk of contamination in the groundwater for longer time span and at the deeper depths. In general, a coupled effect of sorption and hydro-geological parameters (soil type, moisture context and hydraulic conductivity) decides the resultant uranium transport in subsurface environment.

내수성 및 기계적 물성이 향상된 열처리된 폴리비닐알코올/셀룰로오스 나노결정 필름 (Heat-Treated Polyvinyl Alcohol/Cellulose Nanocrystal Film with Improved Mechanical Properties and Water Resistance)

  • In this study, the water resistance and mechanical properties of heat-treated polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/cellulose nanocrystal (CNC) films were investigated. PVA is the most commonly used synthetic biodegradable polymers owing to its excellent properties. However, the water/moisture sensitivity and relatively poor mechanical properties of PVA limits its applications. Although heat treatment is a conventionally used method to improve the mechanical strength and water resistance of PVA, the effectiveness of this method is insufficient. Therefore, CNC was used to further improve the mechanical properties and water resistance of the heat-treated PVA film. PVA/CNC nanocomposites containing CNC contents of 0, 1, 3, 5, and 10 wt% were fabricated using solvent casting and subsequent heat treatment. The mechanical properties and water resistance of PVA/CNC films were significantly improved. The tensile strength and wet strength of the PVA/CNC film with a CNC content of 5 wt% (PVA/CNC 5%) were 184.5% and 136.0% higher than those of the untreated PVA, respectively. In addition, the water absorption and solubility of PVA/CNC 5% were 56.6% and 68.2% lower than those of the untreated PVA.

막걸리박 열수추출물 분말을 첨가한 모닝롤의 품질 특성 (Quality Characteristics of Morning Rolls Added with Makgeolli Lees Extract Powder)

  • The objective of this study was to assess the physicochemical characteristics of morning rolls containing various levels (0, 2, and 4%) of Makgeolli lees extract powder, which has nutritional and health effects. The results demonstrated that pH, moisture content, volume, weight, and baking loss rate of morning rolls were not significantly different among the groups. In the morning rolls with 4% Makgeolli lees extract powder, the Hunter's color 'a' (redness), but not L (lightness) or b (yellowness), was significantly higher than that in the other two groups. After estimating the texture quality of morning rolls, hardness, chewiness, and gumminess decreased significantly with added Makgeolli lees extract powder, but springiness was not significantly different. The results of the sensory test showed that appearance and texture increased as more Makgeolli lees extract powder was added, and that the overall acceptability score and air cell uniformity score for 2% and 4% Makgeolli lees extract powder morning rolls were significantly higher than those of controls. These results indicate that the texture and sensitivity of morning rolls can be increased by adding Makgeolli lees extract powder without affecting the overall quality.

폴리이미드가 코팅된 광섬유 브래그 격자를 이용한 습도센서 (Humidity Sensor Using Polyimide Film Coated Fiber Bragg Grating)

  • We have proposed and demonstrated a fiber optic RH (relative humidity) sensor based on fiber Bragg grating covered with a polyimide film. As the polyimide film absolves the moisture in the air, its volume expands. As a result, the grating period of the FBG (fiber Bragg grating) covered with a polyimide film becomes wide and the Bragg wavelength is shifted. The sensor is implemented by fixing a 30 ㎛ thickness polyimide film on the surface of an optical fiber grating using an adhesive, and the characteristics of the device according to humidity are analyzed. The fabricated FBG RH sensor showed a high sensitivity of 0.0186 nm/RH% and a wide measurement range from 30% to 90%. The influence of environmental temperature on the characteristics of the RH sensor was also measured and analyzed. The feasibility of commercialization is presented.

산불확산에 영향을 미치는 생태학적 요소들간의 민감도 분석: 시뮬레이션 연구 (Sensitivity Analysis on Ecological Factors Affecting Forest Fire Spreading: Simulation Study)

  • 산불은 대표적인 산림생태계의 재해 중 하나로 최근, 우리나라에서도 빈번하게 발생하고 있으며, 일반적으로 광범위한 지역에 빠른 속도로 확산되는 특징을 가지고 있다. 바람 및 나무의 종류, 다양한 지형 요소들이 산불 발생 시 급진적 확산에 영향을 주는 요소들이다. 산불의 빠른 확산은 생태계 교란 및 재산 피해, 인명 피해 등을 야기 시킨다. 이러한 이유로, 최근 산불에 관련된 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 바람 요인이 고려된 산불 패턴 가상 시뮬레이션 단순 모델을 제안하였고, 셀룰라오토마타(Cellular Automata)의 격자 기반으로 구성 되었다. 모델의 시뮬레이션을 통하여, 바람의 세기 변화, 주어진 공간에 분포해 있는 나무 전체의 밀도, 그리고, 나무들 가운데 가연성이 높은 나무의 밀도가 산불확산에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 민감도 분석 결과, 전체 나무 밀도가 세 가지 요소 중 산불확산에 가장 민감하게 기여하였으며, 그 다음으로는 바람의 영향, 마지막으로 가연성이 높은 나무의 밀도 순으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 제안한 산불확산 시뮬레이션 모델 및 분석 결과는 실제 산불 확산 및 억제 전략 수립에 활용되어 질 수 있을 것으로 여겨지며, 아울러 좀 더 현실적인 생태학적 요소들을 모델에 고려함으로써 산불확산 예측 연구에도 이용되어 질 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

기상기반 산불위험지수와 위성기반 지면건조지수의 우리나라 산불발생에 대한 민감도분석 (Sensitivity Analysis of Meteorology-based Wildfire Risk Indices and Satellite-based Surface Dryness Indices against Wildfire Cases in South Korea)

  • 산불은 한번 발생하면 기상, 지형 등 여러 악조건으로 인해 효과적인 진화가 어려워 넓은 면적으로 확대되는 경우가 많다. 따라서 산불의 예방이 중요하기 때문에 세계 각국에 다양한 산불위험지수와 예측시스템이 존재한다. 그러나 이러한 산불위험지수 및 지면건조지수가 우리나라의 산불발생에 적용가능한지에 대한 객관적인 평가는 이루어진 바 없다. 이에 본 연구에서는 1.5km 격자의 LDAPS(Local Analysis and Prediction System) 기상자료 및 1km 격자의 MODIS(Moderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) 위성자료를 활용하여 각종 산불위험지수와 지면건조지수의 우리나라 산불발생에 대한 민감도분석을 수행하고자 한다. 기상기반 산불위험지수로는 호주의 FFDI(forest fire danger index), 캐나다의 FFMC(fine fuel moisture code), 미국의 HI(Haines index), 그리고 학술연구에서 제시된 MNI(modified Nesterov index)를 산출하였고, 위성기반 지면건조지수인 NDDI(normalized difference drought index)와 TVDI(temperature vegetation dryness index)를 산출하여 우리나라 산불발생에 대한 적용가능성 실험을 수행하였다. 2013년 1월부터 2017년 5월까지 발생한 피해면적 1ha가 넘는 산불 120건과 6종류의 지수를 비교한 결과, FFDI는 피해면적 10ha가 넘는 모든 산불에 대하여 극도로 높은 CDF(cumulative density function) 값을 나타냈으며, FFDI와 FFMC는 피해면적 3ha가 넘는 산불에 대하여 평균 CDF 값이 0.95가 넘게 나타나는 등 매우 우수한 성능을 보였다. 반면, MNI는 이슬점온도와 기온의 차이가 크지 않은 우리나라의 계절적 특성 때문에 2월의 산불예측을 거의 하지 못하였고, TVDI는 전체적으로 산불발생에 대한 민감도가 낮은 것으로 나타났다. NDDI는 피해면적의 크기에 상관없이 평균 CDF 값이 안정적으로 높게 산출되어 위성기반 지면건조지수로서 보조적인 활용가능성이 있을 것으로 보인다. 이러한 산불위험지수와 지면건조지수를 취사선택 및 융합하여 활용한다면, 우리나라 산불예측에 일조할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
