주거시설로서 모듈러건축 활용화 방안 (The Practical Application of Modular Construction for Residential Facilities)

  • The purpose of this research is to provide basic data for the promotion strategy to activate modular construction system as residential facilities, through a study on the architectural planning, institutions and policies and research on connection details, for the use as residential facilities of the modular construction that is not actively supplied for the general residential facilities. As a result, I suggest sample model plan of domestic and foreign case analysis and characteristic of modular construction and practical application of modular construction for Residential Facilities. Owing to many advantages including short construction period structural stability and economic benefits, modular construction is expected to play a role as residential alternative of socially controversial affordable housing and weekend homes, and potential housing shortage after reunification; and to contribute to the development of design automation and industrialized constructions. Though Korea is still lacking development of the system that meets the domestic context, if supported by ongoing researches on the development of construction methods, materials and details, the settlement of appropriate modular residential facilities to suit the national situation will serve a possible alternative solution for many housing and environmental problems.

모듈러 음압병동 개발을 위한 시사점 및 계획방향에 관한 연구 (A Study on Implications and Planning Directions for the Development of a Modular Airborne Infection Isolation Ward)

  • Purpose: This study aims to establish the basic directions of the modular airborne infection isolation(AII) ward. Considering a specific function and purposed use as a modular AII ward, it is a chance to derive an address of current modular technology by overview the limitation and improvement of the existing modular architecture. Methods: In addition to the literature analysis on the configuration system of mobile hospitals, research cases on the operational effectiveness of the domestic and foreign mobile construction systems are analyzed. Results: In order to meet the various and strict space guidelines of the AII ward and a chance to improve limitations of uniformed existing modulars, AII modular the negative pressurized care setting should be minimized a structural restriction for reflecting its system on a architectural plan. For this unique requirements, it could be possible to apply various space boxes called infill box which needs to secure a large-scale space. So, a rahmen structure system could be adaptable for this purpose. A dead space between beams of the rahmen structure is to be used for MEP installation. Partial separation, dismantling, and repair should be possible by separating the MEP and infill box from the structure. The infill box must keep 3.5m width under the current Road Traffic Act. Implications: It is necessary to utilize and develop an improved construction method that can reduce the problems of existing steel modular and PC modular.

  • Besides strong customer orientation, today's companies should respond increasingly to a market getting worse for securing competitiveness with a diversity of product spectrum. In these new conditions in the surrounding field of manufacturing, the changeability of manufacturing system develops more and more to the key success factor. The following contributions introduce a fast and cost-efficient concept for changeover which bases on a modular system's architecture. The modular structure of manufacturing system allows the required changing processes with limited side effects on other modules. Based on a modular concept, manufacturing systems can be easily configured and reconfigured to specific requirements.

현대 패션디자인에 나타난 모듈러 시스템의 표현특성 (The Expressive Characteristics of Modular System in Contemporary Fashion Design)

  • This study attempted to comprehend the usage of the modular system in fields through literature review and objective research, as well as analysis of its expression characteristics in fashion. It tried to provide inspiring visual data for the fashion design of the modular system. After analyzing architecture and product-related books, Internet data and advanced research, the four expression characteristics of the modular system were obtained. Firstly, the formative expression characteristics of the modular system in fashion were simplicity, extensibility, variability and diversity. Secondly, of the formative expression characteristics expressed in modern fashion, simplicity (30%) was the highest, followed by extensibility (27%), diversity (22%) and variability (21%). Thirdly, simple silhouette and structure were used to express simplicity, usually simple geometric figures. In contrast, extensibility was expressed through the expansion and exaggeration of the area, length and volume of the clothes. In terms of variability, the typical characteristics of modules were reflected. For diversity, heterogeneous materials were used, and informality was expressed.

  • The use of renewable energy sources for power generation has been steadily increasing. Power generation using renewable energy has the advantage of not generating carbon but has the disadvantage of high volatility depending on the weather. This volatility makes stable power supply difficult. Curtailment is occurring to address volatility. Various facilities are operated together to solve the loss caused by the curtailment. The existing SCADA must be modified for turbine control reflecting the conditions of various facilities. However, since it is difficult to modify SCADA, a modular control system is required. In this study, we propose Modular Control System Based on Closed-Loop Control for Wind Farms. Since the control logic can be changed without modifying SCADA, it is easy to respond to changes. The developed modular control system was evaluated as a lab test and confirmed to operate smoothly. Through future research, the experiment will be conducted by applying a modular control system to the actual wind farm.

  • Cleaning robot system consists of four parts; navigation system for moving of robot, cleaning system, power system, and main system with cleaning algorithm. Navigation system is the most expensive part because it has motors and sensors which is high price. Navigation system is also essential to service robot system, but user should buy two systems which are service robot system and cleaning robot system. If it is possible to share navigation system, user can save money. In this paper, we design the cleaning robot system based on modular architecture.

  • Since the late 20C, a lot of fashion designers have considered about new construction system in fashion. Many arguments about architectural form and construction system have being supported on enlargement of range of functionalism fashion through the consideration about new shape and combination among various any other spheres. Modular concept, which is able to divide complex construction of integration into separated basic unit and use various and liberal arrangements, is regarded alternative idea of economic construction that creates new shape and constructive beauty through the simple operation and changing combination continuously. Specially, fashion designs of Yoehlee Teng, John Ribber, and Galya Rosenfeld are estimated that they are effectively utilized architectural modular system pursuing multi-function and multi-change in fashion. Modular system utilized in fashion construction will be classified as follows: 1) layering system of Yoehlee Teng, 2) combine system of john Ribber, and 3) lego system of Galya Rosenfeld. This thesis will presents beneficial guide for simple and practical functionalism fashion design development in 21C.

브래킷형 완전강접합 모듈러 시스템의 반복가력실험과 해석적 평가 (Cyclic Loading Test and an Analytical Evaluation of the Modular System with Bracket-typed Fully Restrained Moment Connections)

  • Key factors that ensure competitiveness of modular unit include consistent high quality and connection condition that ensures high structural performance while minimizing the overall scale of the on-site process. However, it is difficult to evaluate the structural performance of the connection of modular unit, and its structural analysis and design method can be different depending on the connection to its development, which affects the seismic performance of its final design. In particular, securing the seismic performance is the key to designing modular systems of mid-to-high-rise structure. In this paper, therefore, the seismic performance of the modular system with bracket-typed fully restrained moment connections according to stiffness and the shapes of various connection members was evaluated through experimental and analytical methods. To verify the seismic performance, a cyclic loading test of the connection joint of the proposed modular system was conducted. As a result of this study, theoretical values and experimental results were compared with the initial stiffness, hysteresis behavior and maximum bending moment of the modular system. Also, the connection joint was modeled, using the commercial program ANSYS, which was then followed by finite element analysis of the system. According to the results of the experiment, the maximum resisting force of the proposed connection exceeded the theoretical parameters, which indicated that a rigid joint structural performance could be secured. These results almost satisfied the criteria for connection bending strength of special moment frame listed on KBC2016.

국내 모듈러 주택의 특성 및 MC 설계를 통한 건축자재 표준화 효과 분석 (An Analysis on Architectural Characteristics of Domestic Modular Housing and Building Material Standardization Effect through MC Design)

  • Modular construction is a process in which a building is produced off-site in module boxes using standard materials. Since the introduction of prefabrication in building construction, Modular Coordination (MC) has become an essential design tool in building design and construction. However, in Korea, the design standardization has not been adequately applied to modular construction. This study intends to analyze the current status of modular construction in Korea and explore the applicability of MC design in the construction industry. The analysis of the current status of MC design within Korean four major modular construction companies indicates that an incremental dimension is not properly used in horizontal planning modules, which results in a problem of increasing construction cost by high material loss rate. But, in vertical planning modules, a incremental dimension of 100 mm (1 M) is found to be used although the structural system varies among manufacturers, which demonstrates the potential for an open system to be well applied in modular construction, despite different structural systems.

  • Recently, there is a growing interest in BIM and modular method because of changing in users attitudes about quality of building and construction environment. however, In domestic, study on Modular method still have addressed primarily basic contents. This study check efficiency about this process through comparative analysis of Modular method and RC method used 5D BIM tool for real project and suggest a fitting schedule management method for modular method.
