The later part of the Lee-Dynasty was a period that marked an important turning point in the history of the modern communication system in our country. This paper proposes to research the historic process of initiation and development of the modern communication system in that period through the communication administrative organ and the installation of the wire communication lines such as wastward lines, southward lines and northward lines extended from Han Seung (Seoul) as well as the submarine cables from Korea to Japan. The modernization of the communication system in our country had been achieved in the struggle of national uprising spirits of Korean people against the invasive avarices of the neighbouring nations such as Japan and China. The initiation of the modern communication system played a leading role in civilizing our country. Thus the fair spirits of our forerunners who had schemed to develop the independent communication system should be valued enormously.

This Study is to analize the transfiguration of the domestic architecture in the process of modernization. Thirty two houses which were located in Taegu province and constructed during the period from 1886 to 1945, were surveyed and analized about the characteristic and their transfiguration. The modern domestic architecture of Taegu province had been constructed greatly by the missonaries and Japanes. The history of development of modern houses in Teagu province can be devided into three period in accordance with the economic policy, housing style and the method of construction. The first period (1886-1910) was the beginning of the modern house. Most of the mission houses of that period were made with brick structure of korean-western style or colonial style. In the second period (1911-1926), colonial, Japanese-western, Japanese housing style were co-exited in Teagu province. During the third period (1927-1945) new method of construction using reinforced concrete and mortar was introduced, therefore the houses become row house (a two or three-family house) and much simpler.

The cultural identity of design is very critical in the modern society which is called the society of complex culture and multi-culture. In addition, adopting a traditional lattice-like pattern as a composition element of interior space is an effective way in the context of adding a traditional touch to the modern interior space. Meanwhile, in the process of applying Korean traditional lattices to modern interior space, some problems occurred: it has not been properly embodied; or it has been mistaken for those of China and Japan sharing similar culture with Korea. Thus, this study is designed to have precise knowledge of Korea, Chinese and Japanese traditional lattices. Besides, typical patterns of each nation's lattices are comparatively analyzed from the geometrical viewpoint, in a bid to pave the way for th modernization of traditional lattices. In particular, standards are set and proposed to identify different nations's lattices mainly focusing on grid type lattices which are often used and confusing.

This research surveys the forming process of Practical Korean Costume and its social factors and examines Hanbok reformation. The international mode of '86 Seoul Asian Games and '88 Seoul Olympic Games in the 1980's called for the modernization of Hanbok. It is necessary for us to inherit modernized Hanbok which is endowed with the traditional beauty. The purpose of this research is to develop Practical Korean Costume design for focused on functionality as well as on keeping the traditional beauty This study consist of theoretical study and positive study. Theoretical study has the esthetic characteristics(structure characteristic, formative characteristic and the characteristic of color). Grounded upon survey on brands, I have suggested designs that maintain Hanbok's superiority and functionality to fit modern life. Most of Practical Korean Costume shops could not fractionalize customer. So it need to subdivide and specialize customer and investment to improvement of design. Practical Korean Costume will have to be made to maintain dignity by using high quality materials and a coordinate goods will have to be developed.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the meaning of housework for home education. The methodology applied in this study bases on reinterpretation of references concerned with 'housework' and 'education'. The meaning of housework for home education can be analyzed in three aspects, that is, individual, domestic, and social aspect. Houseworkers be capable of developing their physical, emotional, cognitive, and social ability through houseworks. What is more, they are to internalize the culture of home and society. The meaning of housework for home education, however, has gradually been forgotten in people's mind with the appearance of rationalism of modern society. The particular process of modernization in our country has uncovered the negative aspect of housework and continually emphased that point. Thus now people consider housework as only something troublesome. The conclusion of this study is that, for the purpose of our 'noble life as man', we should recover and emphasize the importance of the meaning of housework for home education. Domestic hospital architectures were developed with the nation's industrialization after 1960s. Particularly, with the rapidly growing healthcare demands according to The National Health Insurance Plan which was introduced in 1977 and expanded to entire nation in 1989, the number of healthcare facility is also increasing according to the expansion of the existing facilities and construction of new buildings. Now, twenty to thirty years were past since that growing period of healthcare architecture. Many hospitals are facing on the phase of restructuring and modernization for their resources. J university hospital is a representative case of hospital development which the growth of facility was stopped by insufficient site area. This study, analysing its past statistics and drawing data of that hospital, presents the characteristics of the changes and basic data of the master planning for the future hospital development.

The ecological theory of perception provides the human living, and meaning integrating norm to overcome the crisis caused by an eastern belief in human-centered wrong rationality formed at the past process of modernization. Prior to the overall consideration of ecological perception theory, looked into the concepts, contribution extent and its limitation of the existing perception theories for the environmental design. By experimentally applying inferred concepts of design to department bridge space and forming the space, certified the applicability of it to the green amenity space. The site Is located in Nowon- Gu Sangge- Dong. The design was processed on the basis of survey, plants growth environment and plants characters. It is expected that this design would serve the commercial space- consumer as a symbolic, environmentally friendly space design

The rural houses in Tonghae have a different spatial structure from those of the other area because of the characteristics of a regional circumstances between the Taebaek mountains and the East Sea. The purpose of this study is aimed at grasping how the spatial transformations of the rural houses according to the changes of the housing lifestyles by the modernization and urbanization are coped with and changed. This study consists of understanding the trend of change of the rural houses in Tonghae through the analysis of living elements and the spatial transformation and process of the rural houses in Tonghae since 50's on the basis of the use change, extension and renovation of residential space.
