  • Techniques to rapidly model local spaces, using 3D range data can enable implementation of: (1) real-time obstacle avoidance for improved safety, (2) advanced automated equipment control modes, and (3) as-built data acquisition for improved quantity tracking, engineering, and project control systems. The objective of the research reported here was to introduce current rapid local modeling techniques and develop rapid local spatial modeling tools.

  • Presented in the paper is a structured approach to modeling automated manufacturing system (AMS) in the form of an event graph. The proposed two-phase procedure for formal modeling is 1) reference modeling by schematic supervisory control modeling and 2) event graph transformation from supervisory control model. Also described is a formal model for a small-sized FMS in the form of an event graph.

  • This paper deals with dynamics and control of a PRP6-DOF parallel manipulator. Dynamic modeling includes the effect of inertia of all links in the mechanism to increase modeling accuracy. Kinematic analysis about forward and inverse kinematics is also explained. Using Lagrange-D' Alambert method we get equations of motions in a link space which fully represent 6DOF motions of the manipulator.

  • Rigorous sensor and dynamic modeling techniques are required if spatial information is to be accurately extracted from video imagery. First, a mathematical model for an uncalibrated video camera and a description of a bundle adjustment with added parameters, for purposes of general block triangulation, is presented. This is followed by the application of invariance-based techniques, with constraints, to derive initial approximations for the camera parameters. Finally, dynamic modeling using the Kalman Filter is discussed. The results of various experiments with real video imagery, which apply the developed techniques, are given.

  • To develop an effective geometric modeling is essential in order that precise mechanical properties and the geometrical properties of the 3-D braided composites can be estimated. RVE(representative volume element) was adopted fur geometrical modeling. RVE consisted of IC(inner unit cell), ISUC(interior surface unit cell) and ESUC(exterior surface unit cell). The whole geometrical model fur hybrid 3-D braided composites was developed.

  • This paper presents modeling of QIROV's motion on the X-Y plane. Modeling covered the dynamics of a ROV equiped with two trusters at tail, and it started with reconstructing the forces of X, Y and toque from two trusters' forces. The simulator built based on the modeling using Visual C under MS Windows XP.

  • The article is devoted to mathematical modeling of prob-lems of stochastic optimization of the plastic metal working. Classifi-cation and mathematical statements of such problems are proposed. Several calculation techniques of the single goal function are pre-sented. The probability theory and the Fuzzy numbers were applied for solution of the problems of stochastic optimization.

  • In this paper, we developed an automated program for the modeling and manufacturing of three-dimensional roller gear cams. A computer program employing the theory of gearing and coordinate transformation is developed for synthesizing and animating cam mechanisms. A method using wire frame modeling and shading by triangular element is presented, and effectively used for modeling of example with reduced computation time. Then a module for generation NC program a five-axis CNC machine to manufacture roller gear cam is established.
