  • In this paper, we propose a document classification model using Web documents as a part of the training corpus in order to resolve the imbalance of the training corpus size per category. For the purpose of retrieving the Web documents closely related to each category, the proposed document classification model calculates the matching score between word features and each category, and generates a Web search query by combining the higher-ranked word features and the category title. Then, the proposed document classification model sends each combined query to the open application programming interface of the Web search engine, and receives the snippet results retrieved from the Web search engine. Finally, the proposed document classification model adds these snippet results as Web documents to the training corpus. Experimental results show that the method that considers the balance of the training corpus size per category exhibits better performance in some categories with small training sets.

  • The development of a basin-wide runoff analysis model is to analysis monthly and daily hydrologic runoff components including surface runoff, subsurface runoff, return flow, etc. at key operation station in the targeted basin. A short-term water demand forecasting technology will be developed taking into account the patterns of municipal, industrial and agricultural water uses. For the development and utilization of runoff analysis model, relevant basin information including historical precipitation and river water stage data, geophysical basin characteristics, and water intake and consumptions needs to be collected and stored into the hydrologic database of Integrated Real-time Water Information System. The well-known SSARR model was selected for the basis of continuous daily runoff model for forecasting short and long-term natural flows.

  • When managers estimate exact construction cost at early stage and design phase, they can reduce construction cost in a more efficient way than to predict at construction stage. But, the current of public construction cost estimation and management is concentrated almost after detailed design phase. Therefore, construction cost management in design development phase to generally use approximate estimating is not correct. Also, the existing construction cost used the method that estimated by gross floor area-based cost estimates at design development phase. So, it is difficult to show the specific amount of materials and basis about the estimated cost of the construction. This study derived problems and limits of construction management at design development phase in case of public office building project through review of literature and current survey, and suggested estimating process model process of structural construction cost go improve these matters.

  • In Part 2, dynamic cutting force model, thermal behavior model, and feed drive model are presented for development of a virtual machine tool. Some relevant results with brief descriptions for each model are presented to verify the proposed models. Experimental results for each model agreed well with the estimated ones. The developed models in this two-part paper are partially integrated as a comprehensive software environment.

  • LINS (Laser Inertial Navigation System) consists of RLG (Ring Laser Gyroscopes)/accelerometers and provides real-time navigation information to the target system. Therefore it is very important to make a decision in the real time whether LINS is in the normal operation or not. That is called a fault detection method. In this paper, we propose the fault detection method of LINS based on the overlapping model. We also show that the fault detection probability is increased through overlapping the hardware model and the software model. It is verified through the long-term operation and RAM (Reliability Availability Maintainability) analysis of LINS that the fault detection method proposed in this paper is able to detect about 97% of probable system failures.

  • Area of software measurement in software engineering is active more than thirty years. There is a huge collection of researches but still no concrete software development effort and cost estimation model. If we want to measure the effort and cost of a software project, we need to estimate the size of the software. A number of software metrics are identified in the literature; the most frequently cited measures are LOC (line of code) and FPA (function point analysis). The FPA approach has features that overcome the major problems with using LOC as a measure of system size. This paper presents simple linear regression model that related software development effort to software size measured in FP. The model is derived from the plotting of the effort and FP relation. The experimental data are collected from 789 software development projects that were recently developed under the various development environments and development methods. Also, the model is compare with other regression analysis model. The presented model has the best estimation ability among the software effort estimation models.

  • This paper seeks to investigate major macroeconomic factors and bond yield interactions in Thai bond markets, with the goal of forecasting future bond yields. This study examines the best predictive yields for future bond yields at different maturities of 1-, 3-, 5-, 7-, and 10-years using time series data of economic indicators covering the period from 1998 to 2020. The empirical findings support the hypothesis that macroeconomic factors influence bond yield fluctuations. In terms of forecasting future bond yields, static predictions reveal that in most cases, the BVAR model offers the best predictivity of bond rates at various maturities. Furthermore, the BVAR model has the best performance in dynamic rolling-window, forecasting bond yields with various maturities for 2-, 4-, and 8-quarters. The findings of this study imply that the BVAR model forecasts future yields more accurately and consistently than other competitive models. Our research could help policymakers and investors predict bond yield changes, which could be important in macroeconomic policy development.

  • Hantaan virus(HTNV) causes hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome(HFRS) with a case fatality rate ranging from <1 to 15 % in human. Hantavax is a vaccine against the Hantavirus, which has been conditionally approved by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety(MFDS). However, only 50 % of volunteers had neutralizing antibodies 1 year following the boost. Effective antiviral treatments against HTNV infection are limited. Hantaviruses generally cause asymptomatic infection in adult mice. On the other hand, infection of suckling and newborn mice with hantaviruses causes lethal neurological diesease or persistant infection, which is different from the disease in humans. The development of vaccines and antiviral strategies for HTNV has been partly hampered by the lack of an efficient lethal mouse model to evaluate the efficacy of the candidate vaccines or antivirals. In this report, we established a lethal mouse model for HTNV, which may facilitate in vivo studies on the evaluation of candidate drugs against HTNV. The median lethal dose value of HTNV was calculated by probit analysis of deaths occurring within two weeks. Five groups of ten ICR mice were injected intracranially with serial 2-fold dilutions (from 50 to 3.125 PFU/head) of HTNV. Mice injected with HTNV began to die at 8 days post-infection. The lethal dose required to kill 50 % of the mice (LD50) was calculated to be 2.365 PFU/head.

  • We introduce a novel high-level security metrics objective taxonomization model for software- intensive systems. The model systematizes and organizes security metrics development activities. It focuses on the security level and security performance of technical systems while taking into account the alignment of metrics objectives with different business and other management goals. The model emphasizes the roles of security-enforcing mechanisms, the overall security quality of the system under investigation, and secure system lifecycle, project and business management. Security correctness, effectiveness and efficiency are seen as the fundamental measurement objectives, determining the directions for more detailed security metrics development. Integration of the proposed model with riskdriven security metrics development approaches is also discussed.

  • When the environmental impact assessment (EIA) of an development project is performed, the noise prediction model is used to evaluate the noise impact and prepare the noise reduction measures according to the implementation of an development project. Especially, the application of a 3-d noise prediction model is increased to describe the complex noise environment including high-rise living accommodations. Therefore, this paper suggests the application plan of a 3-d noise predicton model for the road noise impact assessment of a development project.
