  • This study evaluated the effect of concentration of glass fiber reinforcement on the flexural properties of auto and heat polymerized denture base resin. The test specimens($64{\times}10{\times}3.3mm$) were made of auto and heat polymerized resin(Vertex, Dentimax, Netherlands). Glass fiber(ER 270FW, Hankuk Fiber Glass, Korea) were used to reinforce the denture base resin. The 2.6%, 5.3% and 7.9% volume pre-impregnated fiber were located at the bottom of specimen. The test specimens(n=7) of each group were stored in distilled water at $37^{\circ}C$ for 50 hours before test. The flexural strength and modulus were measured by an universal testing machine(Z020, Zwick, Germany) at a crosshead speed of 5 mm/min in a three-point bending mode. The data was analyzed by one-way ANOVA and the Duncan's multiple range test(${\alpha}$=0.05). The difference of auto polymerized resin groups and heat polymerized resin groups were statistically analyzed by t-test(${\alpha}$=0.05). Glass fiber showed significant reinforcing effects on auto and heat polymerized resin. For flexural strength and modulus, auto polymerized resin was the highest in 7.9% volume, while heat polymerized resin was the highest in 5.3% volume. In this study, glass fiber at 7.9% volume ratio showed most effective reinforcing effect on auto polymerized resin and glass fiber at 5.3% volume ratio showed most effective reinforcing effect on heat polymerized resin in terms of flexural strength and flexural modulus.

  • Purpose: TThe experiment was designed to compare the efficiency of ventilation between conventional BVM ventilation and a newly devised A-BVM ventilation method with Tidal volume, total ventilation rate, average Ventilation speed, and average Ventilation volume. Methods: 40 Paramedical students who agreed to participate in the study were analyzed. Values were measured using IMB PASS after 2 minutes of Brayden Pro manikin with BVM and A-BVM ventilation. The difference in general characteristics was assessed by t-test and ANOVA and the difference in ventilation methods was analyzed by IBM SPSS. Results: A significant difference was found between the two ventilation methods in terms of tidal volume (t=-11.203, p<.001), ventilation time (t=-3.834, p<.001), and optimum ventilation probability (t=10.770, p<.001). A-BVM ventilation method, rather than BVM ventilation method, showed a value close to the appropriate amount recommended by Korean Advanced Life Support (500~600mL) in tidal volume, and higher in optimum ventilation probability. Conclusion: We could identify the a better mode of ventilation. Further studies on the efficacy of existing BVM ventilation methods as compared to device augmented BVM ventilation methods should be carried out to ensure that adequate ventilation is available to patients in clinical practice.

  • Contributions of global warming potentials on CFC(Chlorofluorocarbon) and Ozone were calculated by Stefan-Boltzmann's law and environmental effects of its were discussed. As the greenhouse effect on the unit volume of CFC is the most strong in the infrared gases and the destruction of Ozone in stratosphere is also depends on CFC, therefore release of CFC should be prohibited. But the effect of restriction on CFC will be appeared more than 10 years later. Eventhough the Ozone layer is related to global warming, It should be protected because of maitaining food chain mode of life, preventing human disease, for example, cataract, dermatics etc.

  • Generally, if RGB image is sent to the printer when we print a digital photograph, the printer will convert RGB to CMYK by the inner built-in drive. Because the difference between color domain of RGB and CMYK will cause that change and difference. The most common way to solve the problem is to convert colors by using ICC profile at RIP software or to adapt automatic color converting from the software of the original printer. So we intended to study show which way is most efficient to the digital output and which color mode device is the best based on the printer's own drive in this paper. we tried to observe and check the extended range of color space such as AdobeRGB as well as CMYK and sRGB. Then we made sure which is the suitable color space. Besides, When we convert RGB mode into CMYK mode by utilizing RIP software and adapt the printer's ICC profile made by our selves, we evaluated the output we get and compared the result with extended RGB image. The results are as follows. In case of RGB mode, the printer requests RGB, and that makes the color space more efficient than CMYK's. Converted to CMYK by utilizing RIP software, the chroma is more linearized than the one produced with its' own driver. Compared with sRGB mode's color gamut, AdobeRGB mode's color gamut and CMYK mode's color, CMYK mode's color gamut is the smallest among 3 of them. CMYK mode's color gamut by utilizing RIP software can be changeable. that can be small and narrow or wide and broad. In other words, the volume of color gamut depends on how CMYK is linearized. The color space of sRGB is more advantageous than the one of AdobeRGB in color-reproduction printed. But in the group $-b^*$, the chroma leaves behind in terms of reproduction, In the group of $-a^*$, the chroma is excellent relatively. Visual evaluation of the image, AdobeRGB image has not many reproduction colors. Specially, according to printers' characteristics, Group B of AdobeRGB and sRGB color space is a long way behind In terms of reproduction but Group Y is excellent relatively.

  • An objective of this study is to give practical information that could be used for calculating pollutant emission factors and fuel economy from Korean Inspection & Maintenance program, which has been using steady state acceleration simulation mode. Concentration results from I/M test is adequately converted to mass emission factors and fuel efficiency data, which have unit of g/km and km/L, respectively. Exhaust volume flow(EVF), which is for converting emission result from concentration to mass, is measured by tracer method in various vehicle speed - power condition. It is found that there is an apparent second order relationship between EVF and vehicle inertia weight. EVF is expressed in function of vehicle inertia weight in order to estimate EVF in I/M site without measuring device. Converted mass emission results from measured EVF and raw emission analyzer show a satisfactory agreement with those from conventional CVS-bag type measurement system. Mass emission factors and fuel efficiency from measured EVF and estimated EVF also show good agreement to each other. Considering that an I/M program has great advantages to recruit-based emission test in terms of the number of test vehicle, the information in this study can be used for developing an alternative procedure to collect more various data to establish national database of mobile emission factors and fuel economy, even though the driving cycle in I/M program is steady state cycle rather than transient cycle.

  • The goal of this study is to reduce patient exposure dose by providing image quality and radiation dose according to inspection methods. Volume Computed Tomography Dose Index(CTDIvol) and Dose Length Product(DLP) of prospective and retrospective ECG gating snapshot segment of Coronary CT angiography(CTA) were measured each snapshot segment methods. CT number, noise, uniformity, and resolution were also measured using phantom under the same condition of coronary CTA. The results showed that CT number, noise, uniformity and resolution are similar to each other. In terms of CTDIvol and DLP, however, measurement dose of prospective ECG gating snapshot segment was lower than the retrospective case by 37.5% and 40.3%. Therefore, it is highly recommended that in the coronary CTA, prospective ECG gating scan mode should be chosen to reduce patient dose.

  • In this study, the correlation between microstructure and Charpy impact properties of FCAW(Flux cored arc welding) HAZ(Heat affected zone) of thick steel plates for offshore platforms was investigated. The 1/4 thickness(1/4t) location HAZ specimen had a higher volume fraction of bainite and finer grain size of acicular ferrite than those of the 1/2 thickness (1/2t) location HAZ specimen because of the post heat effect during the continuous FCAW process. The Charpy impact energy at $-20^{\circ}C$ of the 1/4t location HAZ specimen was lower than that of the 1/2t location HAZ specimen because of the high volume fraction of coarse bainite. The Charpy impact energy at -40 and $-60^{\circ}C$ of the 1/2t location HAZ specimen were higher than those of the 1/2t location HAZ specimen because the ductile fracture occurred in the fine acicular ferrite and martensite regions. In the ductile fracture mode, the deformed regions were observed in fine acicular ferrite and martensite regions. In the brittle fracture mode, long crack propagation path was observed in bainite regions.

  • In the present paper an analytical model was developed to study the non-linear vibrations of Functionally Graded Carbon Nanotube (FG-CNT) reinforced doubly-curved shallow shells using the Multiple Scales Method (MSM). The nonlinear partial differential equations of motion are based on the FGM shallow shell hypothesis, the non-linear geometric Von-Karman relationships, and the Galerkin method to reduce the partial differential equations associated with simply supported boundary conditions. The novelty of the present model is the simultaneous prediction of the natural frequencies and their mode shapes versus different curvatures (cylindrical, spherical, conical, and plate) and the different types of FG-CNTs. In addition to combining the vibration analysis with optimization algorithms based on the genetic algorithm, a design optimization methode was developed to maximize the natural frequencies. By considering the expression of the non-dimensional frequency as an objective optimization function, a genetic algorithm program was developed by valuing the mechanical properties, the geometric properties and the FG-CNT configuration of shallow double curvature shells. The results obtained show that the curvature, the volume fraction and the types of NTC distribution have considerable effects on the variation of the Dimensionless Fundamental Linear Frequency (DFLF). The frequency response of the shallow shells of the FG-CNTRC showed two types of nonlinear hardening and softening which are strongly influenced by the change in the fundamental vibration mode. In GA optimization, the mechanical properties and geometric properties in the transverse direction, the volume fraction, and types of distribution of CNTs have a considerable effect on the fundamental frequencies of shallow double-curvature shells. Where the difference between optimized and not optimized DFLF can reach 13.26%.
