  • We forecast that the scale of mobile market will be large scale according to the twenty million times of smart phone's user is arrived. The type of software development is being transferred into mobile-based App. or cloud computing-based service from web-based software. Currently both Google's android and Apple's IOS are known for two prominent platforms. Existing modeling techniques cannot be applied into the case of mobile application which is executed those platforms. Therefore, we suggest a modeling technique that is customized existing modeling techniques into android-based software development. That is, we propose an analysis and design techniques which are needed into android-based mobile smart environment.

  • Recently the usage of mobile devices which enable the accessibility to Internet has been dramatically increased. Most of the mobile services, however, so far tend to be simple such as infotainment service. In order to fully taking advantage of wireless network and corresponding technology, personalized web service based on user's context could be needed. Meanwhile, optimization techniques have been vitally incorporated for optimizing the development and administration of electronic commerce. However, applying context-aware optimization mechanism to personalized mobile services is still very few. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to propose a methodology to incorporate optimization techniques into personalization services. Multi agent-based web service approach is considered to realize the methodology. To show the feasibility of the methodology proposed in this paper, a prototype system, CAMA-myOPt(Context-Aware Multi-Agent system for my Optimization), was implemented and adopted in mobile comparative shopping.

  • Recently, the user of mobile and cordless internet is growing rapidly. So the advertising methodologies are appeared on stage through the internet and mobile service. But the current advertisement(AD) service into mobile phones supplies a short-sentence AD using letter-message, and gives mobile phone users an inconvenience by making them first listen to and then check the AD. Until now the AD service using mobile has been on the beginning level. In this study, we suggest the new advertising methodologies and propose both target marketing strategies and demand forecast through the data mining techniques.

  • Mobile Sensor Vehicles, nodes of Mobile Sensor Network, are navigating for a specific, maybe unknown, region. For the precise usage of MSN, MSV has to be able to do localization by integrating information through communication by each other. In addition, MSV should be localized with various sensors equipped. In this research, we propose a set of techniques that improve accuracy using human mimic by combining and exploiting the existing techniques such as Dead-Reckoning, Computer Vision and Received Signal Strength Identification.

  • In the mobile vector map service environments, there are problems like as terminal resource shortage and transmission delay for the characteristics of large spatial data. For the normal mobile vector map services, some techniques are required to overcome the problems. Spatial data compression approach is one of the techniques to reduce the bandwidth and the waiting time at clients. However it also must be considered that the effect on total efficiency caused by the overhead of compression and restoration time. This thesis proposes two spatial data compression techniques. First approach is to get relative coordinates to first coordinate of each object. The other approach is to compute client coordinates before transmission. Through the implementation and experiments, proposed techniques are evaluated the compression effects and efficiency.

  • Development of mobile devices such as smart phones and tablet PC and increased usage for mobile contents make researches of mobile computer graphics noticeable. However, previous non-photorealistic renderings such as an ink-and-wash painting with thin colors are almost designed for desktop platform and not well-matched for mobile devices. In the result, mobile-specific rendering techniques are needed to create 3D mobile contents with non-photorealistic graphics. We introduce processing techniques that are especially ink-and-wash painting and oriental thin coloring in mobile devices. Through the result of this paper, it is expected that various 3D mobile contents with non-photorealistic styles are made. Proposed work also can allow mobile devices render it in realtime using proposed preprocessing techniques and rendering pipelines.

  • In this paper, we provide a comprehensive overview and classification on a wide range of the existing location management schemes which have been reported for wireless cellular networks and Mobile IP-based networks, respectively. In addition, from the various previous literature, we derive common key conceptual techniques, their main design goals and performance considerations on them, which can provide a useful guidance for understanding location management schemes regardless of network types. The aim of this paper is not to propose a new scheme for location management, but to highlight the various key design features involved in the design of the existing location management schemes, and to enhance an insight into the fundamental principles and techniques for designing more efficient and optimized location management scheme in future wireless mobile networks. We expect that regardless of network types, these underlying fundamental principles and conceptual techniques could be also easily tailored for more efficient mobility/QoS support in future mobile computing environments.

  • In this paper, various of pilot-assisted channel estimation techniques for 3GPP LTE downlink are tested under multipath Rayleigh fading channel. At first, the conventional channel estimation techniques are applied with linear zero-forcing (ZF) equalizer, such as one dimensional least square (1-D LS) linear interpolation, two dimensional (2-D) wiener filter, the time and frequency dimension separate wiener filter and maximum likelihood estimator (MLE). Considering the practical implementation, we proposed two channel estimation techniques by combining time-dimension wiener filter and MLE in two manners, which showed a good tradeoff between system performance and complexity when comparing with conventional techniques. The nonlinear decision feedback equalizer (DFE) which can show a better performance than linear ZF equalizer is also implemented for mitigating inter-carrier interference (ICI) in our system. The complexity of these algorithms are calculated in terms of the number of complex multiplications (CMs) and the performances are evaluated by showing the bit error rate (BER).

  • In this paper, the application of genetic algorithms (GAs) for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction is investigated. A GA is applied in order to enhance the performance of some known techniques for OFDM PAPR reduction and the potential benefits are analyzed. Using the proposed techniques, the system designer can take advantage of the GA versatility, robustness, and adaptability to specific system requirements, in order to achieve a convenient trade-off between effectiveness and computational burden.
