The Present Situation and Challenges of the Russian Music Industry: Centered on the Digital Sound Sources (러시아 음악 산업 현황과 과제 - 디지털 음원을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine the current situation and background of the Russian consumer music market, where digital music sources are making great strides in the noted recent years. In addition, music storage technology, media and change are considered together in this report. Moreover, Russia is the 12th largest music market in the world. The Russian music industry is following the recent trend of the global music industry, where the digital music market is growing rapidly on many different levels. The explosive growth of the digital sound sources in Russia's music industry is attributed to the explosive increase in available consumer downloads, streaming sound source service, and the increase in the number of digital sound sources using mobile technologies due to the development of the Internet. In particular, the sales of the available and accessible streaming sound sources are expected to grow explosively by the year 2020, which is expected to account for more than 85% of total digital music sales. In other words, the spread of smartphones and the resulting changes in the lifestyle of the Russians have created these changes for the global consumer of music. In other words, the time has come for anyone to easily access music and listen to music without a separate audio or digital player. And the fact that the Russian government's strong policy on the eradication of illegal copying of music is becoming an effective deterrent, as is also the factor that led to the increase of the share of the digital sound source to increase sales in Russia. Today, the Russian music industry is leading this change through the age and process of simply adapting to the digital age. Music is the most important element of cultural assets, and it is the beneficial content, which drives the overall growth of the digital economy. In addition, if the following five improvements(First, strengthen the consciousness of the Russian people about copyright protection; Second, utilizing the Big Data Internet resources in the digital music industry; Third, to improve the monopoly situation of digital music distributors; Fourth, distribution of fair music revenues; and Fifth, revitalization of a re-investment in the current Russian music industry) are effective and productive, Russia's role and position in the world music market is likely to expand.

An Empirical Study on the Spatial Effect of Distribution Patterns between Small Business and Social-environmental factors (소상공인 점포의 분포와 환경요인의 공간적 영향관계에 관한 실증연구)

  • This research measured and visualized the spatial dependency and the spatial heterogeneity of the small business in Cheonan-si, Asan-si with $100m{\times}100m$ grids based on global and local spatial autocorrelation. First, we confirmed positive spatial autocorrelation of small business in the research area using Moran's I Index, which is ESDA(Exploratory Spatial Data Analysis). And then, through Getis-Ord $GI{\ast}$, one kind of LISA(Local Indicators of Spatial Association), local patterns of spatial autocorrelation were visualized. These verified that Spatial Regression Model is valid for the location factor analysis on small business commercial buildings. Next, GWR(Geographically Weighted Regression) was used to analyze the spatial relations between the distribution of small business, hourly mobile traffic-based floating population, land use attributes index, residence, commercial building, road networks, and the node of traffic networks. Final six variables were applied and the accessibility to bus stops, afternoon time floating population, and evening time floating population were excluded due to multicollinearity. By this, we demonstrated that GWR is statistically improved compared to OLS. We visualized the spatial influence of the individual variables using the regression coefficients and local coefficients of determinant of the six variables. This research applied the measured population information in a practical way. Reflecting the dynamic information of the urban people using the commercial area. It is different from other studies that performed commercial analysis. Finally, this research has a differentiated advantage over the existing commercial area analysis in that it employed hourly changing commercial service population data and it applied spatial statistical models to micro spatial units. This research proposed new framework for the commercial analysis area analysis.

HEVC Encoder Optimization using Depth Information (깊이정보를 이용한 HEVC의 인코더 고속화 방법)

  • Many of today's video systems have additional depth camera to provide extra features such as 3D support. Thanks to these changes made in multimedia system, it is now much easier to obtain depth information of the video. Depth information can be used in various areas such as object classification, background area recognition, and so on. With depth information, we can achieve even higher coding efficiency compared to only using conventional method. Thus, in this paper, we propose the 2D video coding algorithm which uses depth information on top of the next generation 2D video codec HEVC. Background area can be recognized with depth information and by performing HEVC with it, coding complexity can be reduced. If current CU is background area, we propose the following three methods, 1) Earlier stop split structure of CU with PU SKIP mode, 2) Limiting split structure of CU with CU information in temporal position, 3) Limiting the range of motion searching. We implement our proposal using HEVC HM 12.0 reference software. With these methods results shows that encoding complexity is reduced more than 40% with only 0.5% BD-Bitrate loss. Especially, in case of video acquired through the Kinect developed by Microsoft Corp., encoding complexity is reduced by max 53% without a loss of quality. So, it is expected that these techniques can apply real-time online communication, mobile or handheld video service and so on.

Reflector Based Mobile Satellite Antenna with Novel Beam Steering Scheme (새로운 빔 조향 방식을 갖는 반사판 기반의 이동형 위성 통신 안테나)

  • This paper proposes a hybrid antenna with novel beam steering scheme. The antenna have a cassegrain structure composed of two reflectors. The main reflector is designed for high gain performance using parabola curvature, and the sub-reflector is plate and can be rotated by ${\pm}3^{\circ}$. Thus proposed antenna can steer a antenna beam using the inclination of sub-reflector. A feed array composed of 20 elements is adapted as a feeder for electrical beam steering, and the antenna can be possible to steer the beam by the feed array with sub-reflector. Proposed antenna was fabricated to be operated in Ka-band(30.085$\sim$30.885 GHz) for TX and K-band(20.355$\sim$21.155 GHz), which are the operation frequencies of the Korean satellite, Mugunhwa, to provide satellite multi-media service to vehicles. By the performance test, it can be known that the antenna has minimum gain of 47 dBi for TX and 44.4 dBi for TX and can steer the beam by ${\pm}2^{\circ}$ with sub-reflector.

A Categorization Method based on RCBAC for Enhanced Contents and Social Networking Service for User (사용자를 위한 향상된 콘텐츠 및 소셜 네트워킹 서비스 제공을 위한 RCBAC 기반 분류 방법)

  • Recently, social network sites are very popular with the enhancement of mobile device function and distribution. This gives rise to the registrations of the people on the social network sites and the usage of services on the social sites is also getting active. However, social network sites' venders do not provide services enough compared to the demand of users' to share contents from diverse roots by users effectively. In addition, the personal information can be revealed improperly in processes sharing policies and it is obvious that it raises a privacy invasion problem when users access the contents created from diverse devices according to the relationship by policies. However, the existing methods for the integration management of social network are weak to solve this problem. Thus, we propose a model to preserve user privacy, categorize contents efficiently, and give the access control permissions at the same time. In this paper, we encrypt policies and the trusted third party classifies the encrypted policies when the social network sites share the generated contents by users. In addition, the proposed model uses the RCBAC model to manage the contents generated by various devices and measures the similarity between relationships after encrypting when the user policies are shared. So, this paper can contribute to preserve user policies and contents from malicious attackers.

Performance Analysis of TCAM-based Jumping Window Algorithm for Snort 2.9.0 (Snort 2.9.0 환경을 위한 TCAM 기반 점핑 윈도우 알고리즘의 성능 분석)

  • Wireless network support and extended mobile network environment with exponential growth of smart phone users allow us to utilize the network anytime or anywhere. Malicious attacks such as distributed DOS, internet worm, e-mail virus and so on through high-speed networks increase and the number of patterns is dramatically increasing accordingly by increasing network traffic due to this internet technology development. To detect the patterns in intrusion detection systems, an existing research proposed an efficient algorithm called the jumping window algorithm and analyzed approximately 2,000 patterns in Snort 2.1.0, the most famous intrusion detection system. using the algorithm. However, it is inappropriate from the number of TCAM lookups and TCAM memory efficiency to use the result proposed in the research in current environment (Snort 2.9.0) that has longer patterns and a lot of patterns because the jumping window algorithm is affected by the number of patterns and pattern length. In this paper, we simulate the number of TCAM lookups and the required TCAM size in the jumping window with approximately 8,100 patterns from Snort-2.9.0 rules, and then analyse the simulation result. While Snort 2.1.0 requires 16-byte window and 9Mb TCAM size to show the most effective performance as proposed in the previous research, in this paper we suggest 16-byte window and 4 18Mb-TCAMs which are cascaded in Snort 2.9.0 environment.

  • Today, According to it widely used that third generation mobile networks service, WCDMA module development technology and its utilization is expanding increasingly and thus to IT Convergence industries is a trend that a lot of appears. This paper, OBD-II communications to bring a vehicle information use and data to an external server transfer and it was developed that vehicle status monitoring from other external devices can be system. From the various sensors inside a vehicle using the OBD-II connector read the information, after converting the user easier to see, WCDMA module using the car status monitoring system to transfer to an external data server was implemented. Developed to test the performance of the system using virtual's state vehicle simulator, which occurs in the real car that will generate the data. It was sent to the OBD-II connector to be occurred data, vehicle status monitoring system was confirmed that Data was received without error. In addition, When this data using WCDMA transmit data to an external server the same data was confirmed that it was received without error. In the future, this technology using the OBD-II vehicle IT convergence technology can be used in a wide range.

  • Recently, the utilization of geospatial open platforms has been constantly increased and the interest in 3D geospatial data such as terrain, building and shopping mall has been increased significantly. In particular, rather than simplified 3D geospatial data, interest in high-precision 3D geospatial data which similarly represents the real world objects has increased significantly. In order to satisfy the demand for such the high-precision 3D geospatial data, various kinds of 3D geospatial open platforms has been developed and has provided services on the web. However, most of the 3D geospatial open platforms have been used plug-in module in order to ensure a fast 3D rendering performance on the web, despite the many problems such as difficulty of the installation, no supporting of cross browser/operating system and security issues. In addition, recently, the existing 3D geospatial open platforms based on plug-in module are facing a serious problem, by declaring the NPAPI service interruption in Chrome and Firefox browsers. In this study, we presents the design and implementation of a new 3D geospatial open platform based on HTML5/WebGL technology without the use of plug-ins. Such the new 3D geospatial open platform based on HTML5/WebGL may support cross browsers such as IE, Chrome, Firefox, Safari and cross OS platforms such as Windows, Linux, Mac and mobile OS platforms.

Simultaneous Characterization of Sofalcone and Its Metabolite in Human Plasma by Liquid Chromatography -Tandem Mass Spectrometry

  • A sensitive and selective method for quantitation of sofalcone and its active metabolite in human plasma has been established using liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (LC-ESI/MS/MS). Plasma samples were transferred into 96-well plate using an automated sample handling system and spiked with 10 $\mu$L of 2 $\mu$g/mL $d_3$-sofalcone and $d_3$-sofalcone metabolite solutions (internal standard), respectively. After adding 0.5 mL of acetonitrile to the 96-well plate, the plasma samples were then vortexed for 30 sec. After centrifugation, the supernatant was transferred into another 96-well plate and completely evaporated at 40 ${^{\circ}C}$ under a stream of nitrogen. Dry residues were reconstituted with mobile phase and were injected into a $C_{18}$ reversed-phase column. The limit of quantitation of sofalcone and its metabolite was 2 ng/mL, using a sample volume of 0.2 mL for analysis. The reproducibility of the method was evaluated by analyzing 10 replicates over the concentration range of 2 ng/mL to 1000 ng/mL. The validation experiments of the method have shown that the assay has good precision and accuracy. Sofalcone and its metabolite produced a protonated precursor ion ([M+H]$^+$) of m/z 451 and 453, and a corresponding product ion of m/z 315 and 317, respectively. Internal standard ($d_3$-sofalcone and $d_3$-sofalcone metabolite) produced a protonated precursor ion ([M+H]$^+$) of m/z 454 and 456 and a corresponding product ion of m/z 315 and 317, respectively. The method has been successfully applied to a pharmacokinetic study of sofalcone and its active metabolite in human plasma.

Parallelization Method of Slice-based video CODEC (슬라이스 기반 비디오 코덱 병렬화 기법)

  • Recently, we need to dramatically speed up real-time video encoding and decoding on mobile devices because complexity of video CODEC is significantly increasing along with the demand for multimedia service of high-quality and high-definition videos by users. A variety of research is conducted for parallelism of video processing using newly developed multi-core platforms. In this paper, we propose a method of parallelism based on slice partition of video compression CODEC. We propose a novel concept of a parallel slice for parallelism and propose a new coding order to be adequate to the parallel slice which keeps high coding efficiency. To minimize synchronization time of multiple parallel slices, we also propose a synchronization method to determinate whether the parallel slice could be independently decoded or not. Experimental results shows that we achieved 27.5% (40.7%) speed-up by parallelism with bit-rate increase of 3.4% (2.7%) for CIF sequences (720p sequences) by implementing the proposed algorithm on the H.264/AVC.
