Today's market share of mobile internet service is growing rapidly in internet due to the rapid advances in wireless mobile networks. To guarantee for QoS of Mobile Nodes in wireless mobile networks, we propose the Proxy MRSVP (PMRSVP) which is efficient resource reservation protocol. The PMRSVP using a modified regional registration restrains excessive message generation from existing protocols that propose an alternative plan of existing best effort service in wireless mobile networks. We show that signaling message generation quantities and resource registration costs of the PMRSVP are lower than MRSVP and Hierarchical MRSVP (HMRSVP) because as Mobile Agent (MA) plays a proxy role instead of Corresponding Host (CH). We evaluate resource reservation cost with registration cost of intradomain and interdomain of the proposed method in the paper by comparing to that of the MRSVP and HMRSVP.

The introduction of wireless information technology gives rise to new mobile services in all kinds of areas of out daily life. Mobile healthcare system is a production of composite ICT (Information and Communication Technology) which focused on signal sensing, processing, and communication in wireless environment. The mobile and wireless revolution promises not only expanded access to patient health information, but also improved patient care. In this paper, we describe a surrogate host based mobile healthcare information system which utilized Grid computing for real-time ECG signal processing. The surrogate host provides seamless interface between mobile device and Medical Grid portal. The security extension of GSI (Grid Security Infrastructure) allows mobile users to access Grid portal in a secure and convenient manner. The presented system architecture can be used as a secure enterprise mobile healthcare system for hospital physicians.
Unlike host-based IPv6 mobility support protocols such as Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6), Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6), and Fast handover for Mobile IPv6 (FMIPv6), Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) is expected to accelerate the real deployment of IPv6 mobility support protocol by using only collaborative operations between the network entities without mobile node (MN) being involved. In this paper, we analyze and compare the handover latency of network-based IPv6 mobility support protocol (i.e., PMIPv6) with the representative host-based IPv6 mobility support protocols such as MIPv6, HMIPv6, and FMIPv6. Analytical results show that the handover latency of PMIPv6 is considerably lower than those of MIPv6 and HMIPv6, and the handover latency of PMIPv6 becomes lower than that of FMIPv6 in case the wireless link delay is greater than the delay between mobile access gateway (MAG) and local mobility anchor (LMA).

The Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) is a network localized mobility management protocol that is independent of global mobility management protocols. In a single mobility domain (LMD), the mobile node (MN) is not involved in any IP mobility-related signaling and uses only its PMIPv6 home address for all its communication. Subsequently, when the MN moves into another LMD, the MN must change its PMIPv6 home address. In such a circumstance, host-based mobility signaling is activated. Thus, the nature of the network-based mobility of the PMIPv6 cannot be retained. Additionally, if the MN does not support global mobility, it cannot maintain communication with its correspondent node (CN). In this paper, we propose a solution for global mobility support in PMIPv6 networks, called Global-PMIPv6 that allows current communication sessions of a MN without mobility protocol stacks to be maintained, even when the MN moves into another LMD. Thus, Global-PMIPv6 retains the advantages of the PMIPv6 for global mobility support. We then evaluate and compare network performance between our proposed solution and PMIPv6.
Mobile IP is a base protocol to support host mobility in IP-based wireless network. It is well known that the protocol contains two main delay factors on a handoff process; one is to detect a host movement, and the other is to register the host's current location to its home network. This paper examines Layer 2(L2) handoff procedure in the IEEE 802.11 Wireless LAN, and identifies these L2 triggers that can be usefully applied to Layer 3(L3) handoff. Then, the MCAA(Multiple-Casting using Anchor Agent) mechanism is proposed. It makes use of the L2 trigger and the network topology to construct an anchor agent dynamically, and the multiple-casting scheme to prevent an ongoing packet to be lost. Using a network simulator, the proposed mechanism has been evaluated the handoff delay and the packet lost point of view, in comparison with the regional registration protocol which is the most well known micro mobility support mechanism.
In the integrated wired/wireless network which consists of the Internet and moving networks, multiple wireless links are used to connect a fixed host(FH) in the Internet to a mobile host(MH) in the moving network. For use in such an environment, we propose a scheme to overcome the TCP performance degradation due to the packet losses over the wireless links without losing the end-to-end TCP semantics. The proposed scheme in each mobile router(MR) allows to obtain the information regarding packet losses over the upstream wireless links based on the received packet sequence number and the ACK number. This information is delivered to the upstream router, which enables the upstream access router(AR) or MR to quickly retransmit the lost packets. The proposed scheme has the feature to quickly recover the packet losses incurred over the upstream wireless links and the performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated through simulation. It is shown that the significant performance gain can be obtained using the proposed scheme compared with the snoop mechanism which maintains end-to-end TCP semantics and does not require any additional features at the source and/or destination nodes.
The mobile computing service market is increasing rapidly due to the development of low-cost wireless network technology and the high-performance mobile computing devices. In recent years, several methods have been proposed to effectively deal with restrictions of the mobile computing environment such as limited bandwidth, frequent disconnection and short-lived batteries. Amongst those methods, much study is being done on the caching method - among the data transmitted from a mobile support station, it selects those that are likely to be accessed in the near future and stores them in the local cache of a mobile host. Existing cache replacement methods have some limitations in efficiency because they do not take into consideration the characteristics of user mobility and spatial attributes of geographical data. In this paper, we show that the value and the semantic of the data, which are stored in the cache of a mobile host, changes according to the movement of the mobile host. We argue it is because data that are geographically near are better suited to provide an answer to a users query in the mobile environment. Also, we define spatial location of geographical data has effect on, using the spatial attributes of data. Finally, we propose two new cache replacement methods that efficiently support user mobility and spatial attributes of data. One is based on the location of data and the other on the meaningful region of data. From the comparative analysis of the previous methods and that they improve the cache hit ratio. Also we show that performance varies according to data density using this, we argue different cache replacement methods are required for regions with varying density of data.

There are two approaches, HA(Home Agent)-based and FA(Froegn Agent)-based mulicasting in mobile computing environments based on mobile IP. If we consider efficiency of routing and bandwidth the FA-based model is better than the HA-based model. But in the case of a MH(Mobile Host) moves frequently it shows bad connection durability because of join and graph delays. To overcome this and to support effective mobile multicasting we propose an extended FA-based multicast routing. In our model previous FA for wards multicast packets to MH. while new FA processes a jion request from MH. That is in general case our model supports FA-based multicasting for efficiency but it provides unicast-based mulicasting for connection durability when MH moves to new FN(Roreign Network). To evaluate our model, we analyze connecction durability, bandwidth, overheads and routing sosts in many situations and compare with previous works.
When a Mobile IP handoff occurs, the packets in flight can be lost because they are tunneled based on out-of-date location information. In this parer, we propose an enhanced handoff protocol that achieves no packet loss during Mobile IP handoff over a wireless LAN. Our handoff protocol predicts the next foreign agent that a mobile host is to visit by using: the information from the data link layer of wireless LAN. After that, when a Mobile IP handoff occult, the current foreign agent forwards the packets destined to a mobile host to the predicted foreign agent which buffers them. This eliminates packet loss and reduces the packet forwarding delay. Our handoff protocol is simulated using the Network Simulator-2 (ns-2) and shows the substantial performance enhancement of TCP with much less overhead up to 6.2 times compared to standard Mobile IP.
