  • This paper proposes a secure data forwarding scheme on source routing-based ad-hoc networks. The scheme uses two hash-key chains generated from a trusted third party to generate Message Authentication Codes for data integrity The selected MAC keys are delivered to the ad-hoc node using a pre-shared secret between the trusted third party and a node. The proposed scheme does not require the PKI, or the provisioning of the pre-shared secrets among the ad-hoc nodes.

  • In this paper, we discuss about wireless Internet security. The past few years have seen unprecedented growth in the number of wireless user, applications, and network access technologies. Wireless Internet is similar to wired internet, but it has some constrained wireless environment. So many internet technologies for wireless are developing now. There are WAP(Wireless Application Protocol) and WPKI. WAP(now version 2.0) is a protocol specification for wireless communication networks. it provides an application framework and network protocols for wireless devices such as mobile telephones, PDAs and internet technologies. In this paper some analysis of security(e.g. digital signature or encryption) for wireless internet are performed.

  • Today's mobile devices have characteristic of random mobility in the heterogeneous networks. Thus they should have various kinds of security requirements. To satisfy these requirements, there are many researches on security and authentication for mobile devices. TCG(Trusted Computing Group) designed TPM(Trusted Platform Module) for providing privacy and authentication to users. Also TCG suggest a protocol, called DAA(Direct Anonymous Attestation) which uses zero knowledge proof theory. In this paper, we will implement DAA protocol using Java and show the efficiency and the problems in the DAA protocol. Finally, we will suggest an efficient mobile DAA model through Java test module for the DAA protocol.

  • The electronic voting becomes new challenging area in cryptographic application. A variety of schemes are designed and implemented based on cryptographic protocols. Initiated by ICU, one of best practices was votopia[1] which was successfully served into the Internet voting based on modified Ohkubo et al.'s scheme[2] under Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Java technology. Votopia was used to select the Most Valuable Player and Best Goal Keepers of 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan$\^$TM/ through the Internet where most voters can access and cast their ballots from any place and at any time. However, votopia assumed that the resources of the Internet voters only connected via wired environment. In this paper, we suggest how to extend votopia to mobile voting which has limited computing resources.

  • Government transactions over wireless electronic devices are not safe and hence the messages are prone to attack. Thereby, devices supporting wireless Internet must assure the same level of security and privacy as the wired network. National public key infrastructure (NPKI) for electronic government used in the wired environment is not suitable for wireless environment for mobile government (mGovernment) because of the limitations of computing power, memory capacity and restricted battery power. This requires the development of a new NPKI for mGovernment, denoted as mNPKI, to developing countries, which provides the same security level as the wired NPKI. For the wireless environment requirements, mNPKI is based on short lived certificates. Analysis shows that mNPKI is well suited to wireless Internet and provides the same security requirement from the wired NPKI.

  • Due to hardware resource limit and system incompatibility of the mobile device, and low bandwidth of wireless communication, there are a few difficulties in introducing the digital contract system based on wired communication to M-Commerce. To get over the difficulties, this paper defines a digital contract based upon XML and then addresses the design and implementation of M-XContract, a digital contract system for the mobile environment. M-XContract system has been constructed with the digital contract server, M-ESign module which contracts with the customer on the PDA and transfers the contract digitally signed to the server, M-EDecoder module which shows the contract to the customer from the server, and X-Auth which is a contract authoring tool. To evaluate the run-time performance of the M-XContract, we measured the digital signature generation time and transfer time to the server. The evaluation results show that the M-Xcontract is an efficient model for the mobile contract system.

  • Mobile Ad-hoc networks have various implementation constraints such as infrastructure-free, no trusted authority, node mobility, and the limited power and small memory of mobile device. And just like wired networks, various security issues such as authentication, confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation, access control, availability and so on have been arisen in mobile Ad-hoc networks. But we focus on authentication of these security issues because it is quitely affected by the characteristics of networks. In this paper, we propose the authentication protocol that can limit the size of certificate repository as $log_2N$ and assures to make a trusted certificate path from one node to another, adopting the concept of Hamming distance. Particularly, our protocol can construct a trusted certificate path in spite of decreasing or increasing the number of nodes in mobile Ad-hoc network.

  • To utilize actively the agent which is one of the elements of revitalization of Agro-Foods Mobile I-commerce, an essential prerequisite is agent security. IF using partial PKI(Public Key Infrastructure)-based confirmation mechanism providing security for the agent, the size of agent is becoming larger, the result of the transmission speed is slow, and the confirmation speed is tardy as well because of performing calculation of public keys such as RSA and needing linkage with the CA for the valid examination of certificates. This paper suggests a mechanism that can cross certification and data encryption of each host in the side of improving the problems of key distribution on agent by shaping key chain relationship. This mechanism can guarantee the problem of ky distribution by using agent cipher key(ACK) module and generating random number to fit mobile surroundings and to keep the secret of the agent. Suggested mechanism is a thing that takes into consideration security and efficiency to secure agent for the revitalization of M-Commerce, and is a code skill to make the agent solid and is a safe mechanism minimizing the problems of memory overflow.

  • Existing web-based system management software solutions show some limitations in time and space. Moreover, hey possess such as shortcomings unreliable error message announcements and difficulties with real-time assistance supports and emergency measures. In order to solve these deficiencies, Wireless Remote Control System(W-RCS) was designed and implemented. W-RCS is able to manage and monitor remote systems by using mobile communication devices for instantaneous control. The implementation of W-RCS leads to these security problems as well as solutions to aforementioned issues with existing web-based system management software solutions. Therefore, this paper has focused on the security matters related to W-RCS. The security functions based on public key infrastructure include mobile device user authentication and target system access control. The W-RCS allows real-time user authentication, increases the flexibility of resource administrators and mobile device non, and provides not only uninterrupted services, but also safe mobile office environments.

  • Financial fraud has been increasing along with credit card usage. Magnetic stripe cards have vulnerabilities in that credit card information is exposed in plaintext and cardholder verification is untrustworthy. So they have been replaced by a smart card scheme to provide enhanced security. Furthermore, the FinTech that combines the IT with Financial product is being prevalent. For that reason, many mobile device based payment schemes have been proposed for card present transaction. In this paper, we propose a virtual credit card number payment scheme based on public key system for efficient authentication in card present transaction. Our proposed scheme is able to authenticate efficiently in card present transaction by pre-registering virtual credit card number based on cardholder's public key without PKI. And we compare and analyze our proposed scheme with EMV.
