  • 이 논문은 입술의 형태를 효과적으로 인식하는 방법을 제안하였다. 입술은 PDM(Point Distribution Model)을 기반으로 점들의 집합으로 표현하였다. 주성분 분석법을 적용하여 입술 모델을 구하고 모델에서 사용하는 형태계수의 분포를 GMM(Gaussian Mixture Model)을 이용하여 구하였다. 이 과정에서 계수를 정하기 위하여 EM(Expectation Maximization) 알고리듬을 사용하였다. 입술 경계선 모델은 입술을 구성하는 각 점과 주변 영역에서의 화소간 변화를 이용하여 구성하였으며 입술 탐색시 사용되었다. 여러 영상을 대상으로 실험한 결과 좋은 결과를 얻었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 시간과 기후에 따라 변화하는 영상의 밝기와 색상 변화에도 강건한 연기검출 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안하는 연기검출 알고리즘은 입력영상과 배경영상의 차영상을 이용하여 후보영역을 설정하고, 후보영역 차영상의 Gaussian 혼합모델 특징 계수를 비교하여 연기를 판별한다. 시간과 기후에 대응하기 위하여 입력영상의 평균 밝기와 색상을 기준으로 후보영역 설정을 위한 임계값을 4 단계로 구분한다. 후보영역에 대한 차영상의 Gaussian 혼합모델의 밝기 평균값을 기준으로 클러스터를 정렬하고, 클러스터 간의 Gaussian 혼합모델 특징 계수를 비교하여 연기를 판별한다. 제안하는 알고리즘을 미디어전용 DSP로 구현하고 야외에 설치된 카메라의 영상에 대하여 연기검출 실험을 통하여 효율적으로 연기를 검출할 수 있음 보인다.

이단미생물반응조에서 혼합 VOCs의 생분해 특성 (Biological Removal of a VOC Mixture in a Two-stage Bioreactor)

  • A two-stage bioreactor, which consists of a biotrickling filter module and a biofilter module in series, was investigated for the enhanced treatment of a VOC mixture, toluene and methyl ethyl ketone (MEK). Throughout the experiments, the overall inlet loading rate was maintained at approximately $43g/m^3/hr$, but the inlet ratios of the VOCs were modified. The experimental results showed that the different ratios of the VOC mixture resulted in changes of overall removal efficiencies, elimination capacities (ECs) and microbial accumulation on the surface of each packing material. The ratio of inlet toluene to MEK at 50 : 150 was found to be most effective in terms of the overall removal efficiency, because, at this condition, MEK (i.e., the hydrophilic compound) was mostly removed in the biotrickling filter module and the following biofilter module was used to remove toluene. It was also found that when the inlet loading rate of the VOC mixture was serially increased stepwise within short-term periods, the ECs for toluene dropped significantly but the ECs for MEK increased at the ratio of the VOC mixture. These results implied that substrate interaction and/or substrate preferable utilization might have an effect on the biological removal of each compound in the two-stage bioreactor; therefore, the bioreactor should be operated in the condition where the substrate interaction could be minimized in order to maximize overall performance of the two-stage bioreactor.

R22/R142b 혼합냉매를 사용한 열펌프의 성능 (Experimental Study on the Performance of Heat Pump Using Refrigerant Mixture R22/R142b)

  • Experimental investigation on the performance of a heat pump system using refrigerant mixtures is done. The condenser and the evaporator are double pipe heat exchangers of counter flow type and the compressor is driven by a variable speed motor. The refrigerant mixture used in the experiment is R22/R142b. Experiments are performed by changing the compressor speed, composition on ratio of mixture, and the average temperatures of condenser and evaporator. The compressor work, heating capacity and the coefficient of performance are calculated. Results show that the heating capacity can be changed by varying the mass flow rate of refrigerant mixtures to meet the heating load. It is shown that the capacity control by changing the composition ratio is more effective than by changing the compressor speed. Under the condition where the external conditions are fixed and the heating loads are equal, the coefficient of performance has its maximum value near 50 : 50 mass fraction of the refrigerant mixture in this study.

  • Molten salt-water explosion caused by the contact between molten salt and water is one of vapour explosions. An experimental study of the vapour explosion, which occurs when the molten mixture of Na$_2$CO$_3$-NaOH and water come in contact was performed. The pressure wave generated in each composition Of molten mixtures was measured. The results obtained are as follows: 1) The vapour explosion didn't occur for a molten salt of 100%-Na$_2$CO$_3$- 2) For a molten salt of Na$_2$CO$_3$ 80%-NaOH 20% mixture, a small vapour explosion occured initially, and a large vapour explosion, which showed the largest pressure wave among the present experiments, occurred after an induced period. 3) For molten salt of Na$_2$CO$_3$60% - NaOH 40% mixture and Na$_2$CO$_3$ 40% - NaOH 60% mixture, the vapour explosion occurred near the water surface shortly after they come in contact with water. This explosion would be caused by fragmentation of the molten salts due to impulse generated when thee molten salts and water come in contact.

초연약 해성점토의 표층고화처리를 위한 최적배합에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimal Mixture Ratio for Stabilization of Surface Layer on Ultra-soft Marine Clay)

  • 최근 연안지역에서의 대형건설공사 증가로 준설연약토의 안정화 공법중의 하나인 표층고화처리공법의 적용사례는 늘어나는 반면 이에 대한 연구자료는 미비한 실정이다. 본 연구는 초연약 해성점토와 고화재의 특성을 파악하고, 시험을 실시하여 반응표면 분석에 의하여 최적배합비를 도출하며, 이를 현장시험시공을 통해 검증하는 데에 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 적정 고화재 및 대상토를 선정하여 실험계획법에 의해 제반 실내시험을 실시하여 개량효과에 영향을 주는 인자와 정도를 평가하고, 고화재 원료의 배합비와 일축압축강도와의 관계식을 도출하였다. 또한 도출한 관계식을 현장시험을 통해 현장에의 적용성을 검증하였다. 시험결과 국내에서 주로 쓰여지는 고화재 원료(시멘트, 슬래그분말, 플라이애쉬, 무기염류, 아윈, 석고등)들이 압축강도발현에 미치는 영향을 알 수 있었으며, 통계분석을 통하여 소요강도를 만족하는 고화재의 최적배합비를 도출할 수 있었다. 또한 현장시험시공을 통해 시멘트와 고화재에 의한 지반개량효과를 비교.확인하였으며, 이는 초연약 해성점토의 표층고화처리의 설계 및 시공자료로 활용가능할 것으로 판단된다.

혼합물 실험계획과 다수 반응변수 최적화를 통한 속경화 초저온접착제 개발 사례 (A Case Study of Developing Rapid-Hardening Ultra-Low Temperature Adhesives by Mixture Design and Multiple Response Optimization)

  • Purpose: In this paper we present a case study of developing fast curing adhesives for insulation material of LNG carriers using an extreme vertices design with four mixture components. Three material properties are considered - shear strength, viscosity, and tensile strength. In the optimization experiment, we used hardness instead of tensile strength due to shortage of specimens. Methods: We employ four-factor extreme vertices design with 19 runs and desirability function approach for simultaneously optimizing three responses. After selecting optimal condition of the mixture components, we do confirmation experiments to verify the reproducibility of the optimal condition under manufacturing circumstance. Results: Simultaneous optimal condition for the three responses, that is, shear strength, viscosity, and harness is obtained. At the optimal condition, confirmation experiments are executed in manufacturing circumstance. The variation for the shear strength is not satisfactory, which is due to the variation of the humidity. Conclusion: At the optimal condition three material properties are satisfactory. To reduce the variability for the shear strength, robust design is needed.

FWKO 유수분리공정을 이용한 오일-물 혼합물의 분리특성 (Characteristics of Water Separation for Oil-Water Mixture in a FWKO Vessel)

  • 오일-물 혼합물에서 물을 제거하기 위하여 FWKO(Free Water Knock Out) vessel에서의 물 분리특성에 대해 연구하였다. 오일을 모사하기 위해 데칸, 톨루엔, 아스팔트를 사용하였다. 데칸을 이용하여 프로토타입 vessel에서 기초실험을 수행하였으며, 기초실험결과를 토대로 최적 water cut이 0.8인 것을 알게 되었다. 이에 이어 톨루엔을 이용하여 성능평가를 실행한 결과로 최적 체류시간이 1,200 sec인 것을 알 수 있었고 아스팔트를 사용하여 방해판의 개수, 실험온도를 변수로 FWKO vessel에서의 최적의 물 분리조건에 대해 조사하였다. 최적의 분리조건은 방해판 3개, 온도 $45^{\circ}C$였다.

  • This paper presented to phenanthrene removal of electrokinetic(EK) remediation and enhanced EK remediation with bench scale test. The experiments were carried out on mixture soil with phenanthrene as the test compound. The EK remediation experiments were conducted under controlled voltage. Surfactant solution was constantly supplied at the anode reservoir with constant concentration. Results showed that phenanthrene was removed little in EK remediation. Surfactant helped phenanthrene moving and cumulated in cathode region. Moving effect was increased with surfactant concentration.

  • Cavitating flow simulation is of practical importance for many engineering systems, such as marine propellers, pump impellers, nozzles, injectors, torpedoes, etc. The present work has focused on the simulation of cavitating flow past cylinders with strong side flows. The governing equation is the Navier-Stokes equation based on the homogeneous mixture model. The momentum and energy equation is in the mixture phase while the continuity equation is solved liquid and vapor phase, separately. An implicit dual time and preconditioning method are employed for computational analysis. For the code validation, the results from the present solver have been compared with experiments and other numerical results. A fairly good agreement with the experimental data and other numerical results have been obtained. After the code validation, the strong side flow was applied to include the wake flow effects of the submarine or ocean tide.
