Today, the guide line of the SFRC mix design and the construction was not embodied, and the convenience of the practical application on the spot is not good. In this research, hence, the program which is optimized to result the mix proportion by the flexural strength and toughness, was developed to apply with ease SFRC on the practical spot. This program would minimize the number of trial mixes and achieve an economical and appropriate mixture. In addition, the theoretical background on which the program is based, will be the basis of the embodied method to mixing SFRC. New algorithm, in this research, was used to develop the mix proportioning program of SFRC. The new algorithm is the Harmony Search which is the heuristic method mimicking the improvisation of music players. And, beside to single fiber reinforced concrete, it was developed the program about the hybrid fiber reinforced concrete that two kinds of steel fibers, which have the different geometry, was reinforced. This will be able to keep the world trend to study, hence, offers the basis of the next generation research.
Lightweight foamed concrete is a concrete which is lighter than conventional concree by
mixing ptetoamed foam in cement slurry. The objectives of this study are to develop
optimal prefoarneti lightweight foamed concrete with high lightness. high flowability and
enough strength fol special use of structural application by using the polymer foam agent.
By mixing the admixtures such as silica-fume and fly-ash and the industrial by-product
such as styrofoam for the purpose of practical use of industrial waste, lightweight foamed concrete shich has better lightness. flowability and strength than the conventional prefoamed lightweight foamed concrete is developed. This paper presents extensive data on characteristics of compressive strength and flowability of the concrete manufactured with the different factors in mix design and also presents optimum mix proportion.
High performance concrete (HPC) depends on various parameters such as the type of cement, aggregate and water reducer amount. Generally, the ready concrete company in various regions according to the requirements and costs, mix design of concrete as well as type of cement, aggregates, and, amount of other components will vary as a result of moment decisions or dynamic optimization, though the ideal conditions will be more applicable for the design of mix proportion of concrete. This study aimed to apply dynamic optimization for mix design of HPC; consequently, the objective function, decision variables, input and output variables and constraints are defined and also the proposed dynamic optimization model is validated by experimental results. Results indicate that dynamic optimization objective function can be defined in such a way that the compressive strength or performance of all constraints is simultaneously examined, so changing any of the variables at each step of the process input and output data changes the dynamic of the process which makes concrete mix design formidable.
Recently, the construction of infrastructures has been booming and accelerating to keep up with rapid economic growth. Construction activities and operation of transportation facilities cause unfavorable effects such as civil petitions associated with vibration-induced damages or nuisances. Accordingly, the objective of this study is to develop vibration-controlled concrete using various vibration-controlled mixtures, and also to recycle obsolete materials in part. As the first step to achieve this research, preliminary mix designs have been carried out to obtain an appropriate mix proportion above 200kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ in uniaxial compressive strength. Test specimen based on the mix proportion selected have been actuated by the impact hammer to investigate their dynamic characteristics. Vibration-controlled mixtures are foam, latex, rubber powder and plastic resin, which have been determined to reduce a vibration by and large. KS F2437 and travel time method have been used to figure out 1st natural frequency and dynamic elastic moduli. Damping ratios have been computed by adopting the polynomial curvefitting method and the geometric analysis method on the frequency response spectrum curve. of which results have been compared and analyzed hereon.
Porous concrete having continuous voids is gaining more interest as an ecological material. It has several useful functions such as water and air permeability, sound absorption, etc. Its strengths are considerably lower than those of conventional concrete due to the large and continuous voids in it. This study has been carried out to investigate the influence of mix factors and mixture proportion of aggregate on the strengths and water permeability of porous concrete. And it has been carried out to investigate the evaluation of void of porous concrete by the ultra-sonic pulse velocity. The results f this study are as follows: 1) The theoretical void ratio has greater influence than any other factor on the strengths and water permeability of porous concrete. And it is a little affected by the replacement proportion of silica-fume and mixture proportion of aggregate. 2) Because the coefficients of correlation between the void ratio and ultra-sonic pulse velocity were relatively high, it will be possible that the void ratio is predicted by the ultra-sonic pulse velocity.

High ductile fiber reinforced mortar suitable for wet-mix shotcreting (sprayable ductile mortar) 10 the fresh state, while maintaining tensile strain-hardening behavior in the hardened state, has been developed based on micromechanics and workability control. In the development concept of sprayable ductile mortar, micromechanics is adopted to properly select the matrix, fiber, and interface properties to exhibit strain hardening and multiple cracking behaviors in the composites. Within the pre-determined micromechanical constraints, the workability is controlled by optimizing mix proportions. A series of spray tests show the excellent pumpability and sprayability of the sprayable ductile mortar. Subsequent direct tensile tests demonstrate that the tensile performance of sprayed mortar is comparable to that of cast mortar, for the same mix design.
This study describes data from determination of the optimum mix proportion and site application of the mass concrete placed in bottom slab and side wall having a large depth and section as main structures of LNG in-ground tank. This concrete requires low heat hydration, excellent balance between workability and consistency because concreting work of LNG in-ground tank is usually classified by under-pumping, adaptation of longer vertical and horizontal pumping line than ordinary pumping condition. For this purpose, low heat Portland cement and lime stone powder as cementitious materials are selected and design factors including unit cement and water content, water-binder ratio, fine aggregate ratio and adiabatic temperature rising are tested in the laboratory and batch plant. As experimental results, the optimum unit cement and water content are selected under $270kg/m^3$ and $l55{\~}l60 kg/m^3$ separately to control adiabatic temperature rising below $30^{\circ}C$ and to improve properties of the fresh and hardened concrete. Also, considering test results of the confined water ratio($\beta$p) and deformable coefficient(Ep), $30\%$ of lime stone powder by cement weight is selected as the optimum replacement ratio. After mix proportions of 5cases are tested and compared the adiabatic temperature rising($Q^{\infty}$, r), tensile and compressive strength, modulus of elasticity, teases satisfied with the required performances are chosen as the optimum mix design proportions of the side wall and bottom slab concrete. $Q^{\infty}$ and r are proved smaller than those of another project. Before application in the site, properties of the fresh concrete and actual mixing time by its ampere load are checked in the batch plant. Based on the results of this study, the optimum mix proportions of the massive concrete are applied successfully to the bottom slab and side wall in LNG in-ground tank.

In this study, the royal protocols of the Joseon Dynasty, known as uigwes, were reviewed to clarify the materials and structure of Korean traditional walls. For this, the Yeonggeon-and Sanreng-uigwes were thoroughly reviewed, and then the names, materials, and construction methods of the traditional walls were systematically organized. In addition, mix proportions of plastering materials used in the walls were estimated based on the records in the uigwes; these were compared with the ratios specified in the current specifications. As a result of the comprehensive review, it was found that the mix proportions of the plastering materials varied depending on importance of buildings, type of walls, and the raw materials. Based on this, it was concluded that the characteristics of each uigwe should be considered when studying the mix proportion of materials for the traditional walls. It was also found that there were differences between the traditional and modern specifications for the wall constructions. That is, historical records and the specifications currently used were different in terms of constituent materials, construction methods and mix proportions. As a cause of the difference, the disconnection of the traditional methods and the introduction of foreign plastering techniques during the rapid social change in the 20th century were suggested.
PURPOSES: As a part of our research into repair techniques for roads that have collapsed as a result of a natural disaster, this study set out to find the optimum mix proportion for gravels to be used to restore a damaged area. METHODS: This study considered flow and strength-development characteristics. The experimental variables were the W/C ratio, the usage of the admixture, the types of cement, and the quantity of fine aggregate over three different experimental stages. The compressive strength was measured at 12 hours, one day, three days, and seven days. RESULTS : The flow varied with the amount of fine aggregate and the use of a high-range water-reducing (HRWR) admixture. The compressive strength also varied with respect to the type of cement and the W/C ratios. The strength satisfied the expected requirement of 21 MPa after one day, provided the mix proportion was appropriate. CONCLUSIONS: A gravel-filling high-flow cement-based mortar exhibited strength and consistency with a W/C ratio in the range of 0.40 to 0.45, assuming the use of HRWR at 0.5 to 0.7% and a fine aggregate/cement ratio of 1.0 to 1.5.

In this study, the optimum mix proportions of rain garden structure concrete were decided and the mechanical properties were evaluated. Experimental parameters were blast furnace slag, hwang-toh, recycled aggregates and natural jute fibers. The target compressive strength and chloride ion penetration were more than 24 MPa and less than 1000 coulombs, respectively. The response surface method was used for statistical optimization of experimental results. The optimal mixing ratios of the blast furnace slag, hwang-toh, recycled coarse aggregate and jute fiber volume fraction were determined 59.98 %, 8.74 %, 12.12 % and 0.2 %, respectively. The compressive strength, flexural strength and chloride ion penetration test results of optimum mix ratio showed that the 24.56 MPa, 3.88 MPa and 999.08 columbs, respectively.
