Trade specialization index, import market share, unit value index, market comparative advantage index have been applied to compare the competitiveness of forest products in Korean and European markets for the case of Korea-EU FTA. The results say that no items of non-timber products would show a surge of imports as a result of FTA. Timber products, however, such as non-coniferous plywood, continuously shaped wood (non-coniferous), densified wood, wood wool and flour, other (plywood), other (particle board, 441039)), other (fiberboard), oriented strand board (other), other (particle board, 441090), other (particle board, 441031), Prefabricated buildings of wood, fibreboard (of a density exceeding $0.5g/cm^3$ but not exceeding $0.8g/cm^3$), wooden frames (for paintings, photographs, mirrors or similar objects) and wood marquetry and inlaid wood are expected to increase of their imports by eliminating tariffs. For Korean exports no items of non-timber products have competitiveness in European market. For Korean pyroligneous liquid, which is the only competitive timber product in EU market in terms of MCA and TSI, it is difficult to decide whether it has competitiveness, since the actual exports have taken place occasionally during a period of last five years.
The second harmonic, wavelength is 397nm, of the continuous wave diode laser, whose maximum power is 35mW, was generated in $LiIO_3$ crystals in a ring enhancement cavity. 5mm- and 10mm-long crystals cut $43.21^{\circ}$ for optic axis were used in this experiment. Both surfaces of those were anti-reflection coated for 794nm. In case the crystal was inserted into the cavity, the condition of separation between two concave mirrors for the optimum mode matching was found. The conversion efficiency of second harmonic generation was increased by the resonant enhancement of pumping power in the ring enhancement cavity, and the frequency of diode laser was locked to that of the counter-propagation mode generated from the surface of crystal. When the pumping power was 28 mW, the infrared buildup factor was about 45 without the crystal, and 14 with the crystal due to the transmission loss of crystal. The maximum second harmonic powers of $1.5{\mu}W$ and $6.6{\mu}W$ were obtained, and corresponding conversion efficiencies were $(6.584{\pm}0.56){\times}10^{-3}$%, $2.6{\pm}0.21){\times}10%{-2}$% in 5mm- and 10mm-long $LiIO_3$, respectively.

We present interferometric modulators that reproduce RGB colors through the selective actuation of mechanically coupled mirror arrays having identical air gaps. The conventional transmittive interferometric modulators need additional backlights, which leads to high power consumption. The previous reflective interferometric modulators using ambient lights need three different air gaps for reproducing the three RGB colors, thus giving rise to process complexity. For process simplicity, we propose the use of reflective interferometric modulators that are capable of producing green, blue, red, and black colors with the aid of mechanically coupled mirrors with identical air gaps. In an experimental study, the present interferometric modulators reproduce green, blue, and red colors at the switching modes (000), (010), and (101). The spectrum peaks for the colors are measured at the wavelengths $511{\pm}5nm$, $478{\pm}3nm$, and $644{\pm}9nm$, respectively, with the bandwidths being $60{\pm}1nm$, $45{\pm}2nm$, and $105{\pm}4nm$, respectively; further, the maximum intensities of the colors are $77{\pm}5%$, $73{\pm}2%$, and $81{\pm}5%$, respectively. The black spectrum is measured below the intensity of $27{\pm}0%$. Thus, we experimentally demonstrate the color reproduction capability of interferometric modulators fabricated by using a simple process.
Objectives : This study was to examine the state of customized visiting oral health programs in a bid to help facilitate the unified operation of the programs and the development of required guidelines. Methods : The subjects in this study were 49 dental hygienists who were professionals responsible for customized visiting health care programs across the nation. Results : 1. Regarding the form of employment of the dental hygienists were investigated many contract and daily workers. 2. As to the possession of equipment necessary for visiting oral health programs, denture cleaners(12.2%) were most widely possessed in some regions, followed by mobile scalers(10.2%) and mobile suctions(8.2%). In terms of expendable devices and materials, dental mirrors, pincettes and explorers were the most widely possessed dental checkup devices, and the most widely possessed oral hygiene supplies were toothbrushes, interdental brushes and denture cleaners. Those devices and materials were in more possession than the other types of devices and materials. The most widely possessed equipment for educational purpose was laptop computers, followed by beam projectors and screens. The most widely possessed teaching materials were dentiform, followed by CD-ROMs. 3. Those whom they visited the most for oral health care service were elderly people, followed by the disabled and patients with chronic diseases. The dental hygienists who went out to visit those people outnumbered the others who stayed at public health centers. Concerning the types of visiting oral health care service, the most prevalent service provided to the elderly included denture cleaning/management, oral massage and preventive treatment against dental caries. The most dominant service provided to the disabled involved education of the oral health care act, preventive treatment against dental caries and toothbrushing by professionals. The most common service offered to patients with chronic diseases was education of the oral health care act and oral health education. The dental hygienists paid a visit to a mean of 5.8 households a day. The average weekly number of households cared by the dental hygienists was 27.3. It took a mean of 37.1 minutes for them to take care of each household. 4. As for satisfaction level with the implementation of the visiting oral health programs, they expressed the greatest satisfaction at teamwork with professionals($3.56{\pm}0.94$), followed by the professionalism of their work($3.21{\pm}0.94$) and workload($3.08{\pm}0.94$). Their satisfaction level with the work conditions required for creative job performance($2.75{\pm}0.98$) and partnership with other institutions($2.64{\pm}1.03$) was below 3.0. In regard to the impact of their characteristics, marital status made a statistically significant difference to satisfaction level with workload. The unmarried dental hygienists were more pleased with their workload than the married ones(p<0.05). 5. As to needs for education for professionalism improvement, they asked for education about visiting oral health care skills the most, followed by education about oral health care for patients with chronic diseases, education of planning/evaluation and education of oral health care for the disabled. Conclusions : The top priority for the vitalization of the programs was the procurement of budget, followed by the procurement of equipment and educational media and the procurement of human resources.
In the natural world, most materials such as skin, marble and cloth are translucent. Their appearance is smooth and soft compared with metals or mirrors. In this paper, we propose a new GPU based hierarchical rendering technique for translucent materials, based on the dipole diffusion approximation, at interactive rates. Information of incident light, position, normal, and irradiance, on the surfaces are stored into 2D textures by rendering from a primary light view. Huge numbers of pixel photons are clustered into quad-tree image pyramids. Each pixel, we select clusters (sets of photons), and then we approximate multiple subsurface scattering term with the clusters. We also introduce a novel hierarchical screen-space interpolation technique by exploiting spatial coherence with early-z culling on the GPU. We also build image pyramids of the screen using mipmap and pixel shader. Each pixel of the pyramids is stores position, normal and spatial similarity of children pixels. If a pixel's the similarity is high, we render the pixel and interpolate the pixel to multiple pixels. Result images show that our method can interactively render deformable translucent objects by approximating hundreds of thousand photons with only hundreds clusters without any preprocessing. We use an image-space approach for entire process on the GPU, thus our method is less dependent to scene complexity.
The display technology on the retina is the key role in inspecting the condition of the patients. 2-dimensional retina image is widely used in the eye examination as of today. Recently, 3-dimensional retina image ones have been introduced to this area, but the quality of the image is not fully satisfied to the operator. For the purpose of developing 3-D retina imaging instrument, the optimization of a 3-D retina imaging system using Code-V tool was investigated in this thesis. He-Ne laser having the wavelength 632.8 nm was used to make a power source to detect the retina. Several lenses and mirrors installed on sledge which were developed to perform focus control on 3-D device were designed to make a beam focusing and direct line. Polygon scanner having 24 mirror facets and galvanometer making tilting movement were utilized to make a 2-D laser plane. Also, design of eye ball had been fulfilled to see the focus of the 2-D plane. Reflected ray from retina detected on the sensor array with the same path. All cognitive components were optimized for aberration correction in order to focus on retina. Results of optimization were compared to those of initial designed optics system. On the basis of above results, the result of third aberration has been corrected to stable values to the optical system. MTF evaluating the resolution of an image has been closely correlated to the diffraction limit and PSF indicating the strength distribution of an image has shown the SR value as 0.9998 having high performance. The possibility of new and powerful 3-D retina image instrument was verified by simulating each component of the instrument by Code-V.
Process surveillance within agricultural biogas plants (BGPs) was concurrently studied by high-throughput 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing and an optimized quantitative microscopic fingerprinting (QMF) technique. In contrast to 16S rRNA gene amplicons, digitalized microscopy is a rapid and cost-effective method that facilitates enumeration and morphological differentiation of the most significant groups of methanogens regarding their shape and characteristic autofluorescent factor 420. Moreover, the fluorescence signal mirrors cell vitality. In this study, four different BGPs were investigated. The results indicated stable process performance in the mesophilic BGPs and in the thermophilic reactor. Bacterial subcommunity characterization revealed significant differences between the four BGPs. Most remarkably, the genera Defluviitoga and Halocella dominated the thermophilic bacterial subcommunity, whereas members of another taxon, Syntrophaceticus, were found to be abundant in the mesophilic BGP. The domain Archaea was dominated by the genus Methanoculleus in all four BGPs, followed by Methanosaeta in BGP1 and BGP3. In contrast, Methanothermobacter members were highly abundant in the thermophilic BGP4. Furthermore, a high consistency between the sequencing approach and the QMF method was shown, especially for the thermophilic BGP. The differences elucidated that using this biphasic approach for mesophilic BGPs provided novel insights regarding disaggregated single cells of Methanosarcina and Methanosaeta species. Both dominated the archaeal subcommunity and replaced coccoid Methanoculleus members belonging to the same group of Methanomicrobiales that have been frequently observed in similar BGPs. This work demonstrates that combining QMF and 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing is a complementary strategy to describe archaeal community structures within biogas processes.

The air abrasive technique is a non-mechanical method by which teeth are treated before restoration and stains and calculi are removed from tooth surfaces using the kinetic energy of small particles. The air abrasive technique in dentistry was first introduced in the 1950's with as instrument called 'Airdent'. But, as the main restorative materials of the period were amalgam and gold, and the instrument's inability to control the flow of particles caused the particles to be spread throughout the clinics, widespread use was not possible. In the 1990's, as these techincal problems were solved and more interest in new restorative materials rose in an effort to preserve sound tooth structure, new developements took place in instruments related to the air abrasive technique. The air abrasive technique produces less pressure, vibration and heat that might cause patient discomfort and facilitates the preservation of sound tooth structure. It also reduces the need for anesthesia and is less harmful to the pulp. Other advantages include increase in dentin bonding strength of composite resin, lower possibility of saliva contamination and maintenance of a dry field. But there is not direct contact between the nozzle and the tooth, the operator cannot use his or her tactile sense and must rely solely upon visual input. Other disadvantages are: the tooth preparation depends on the operator's ability; alpha-alumina particles, after bouncing off the tooth surface, cause damage to dental mirrors; the equipment is expensive and takes up a certain amount of space in the clinic. The author conducted case report using the air abrasive technique on patient visiting the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Seoul National University Dental Hospital and arrived at the following conclusions. 1. The tooth preparation capability of different air abrasive devices varied widely among manufacturers. 2. It was more effective in treating early caries lesions and stains compared to lesions where caries had already progressed to produce soft dentin. 3. The cold stream and noise caused by the evacuation system was a major cause of discomfort to pediatric patients. 4. As there is no direct contact with tooth surface when using the air abrasive technique for tooth preparation, considerable experience and skill is required for proper tooth preparation.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the development and application of strategies using fairy tales in elementary school science. For this study, many fairy tales were searched in terms of various characteristics and educational value of the tales. Five fairy tales were selected and reconstructed to suit the 'mirrors and lenses' unit of 5th graders' school science, and teaching strategies using the fairy tales were developed to be used in six lessons. To investigate the effects of instruction using fairy tales, pre/post tests for scientific attitude were administered. To analyze students' perception of their classes, a simple survey was administered through questionnaires. We found from this study that the students related the fairy tales with their own experiences and took an active part in the class that used them. Also, instruction using fairy tales had positive effects on their scientific attitude. Many students said that the science classes were interesting, and the method using fairy tales encouraged students to study hard as well as helped them to understand the context. It was concluded that instruction using fairy tales was an effective method in terms of enhancing learning motivation, encouraging more inquiries, more opportunities to apply the scientific concept, and more positive scientific attitude. We discussed the strategies using fairy tales for implementation in elementary science classes as well.
A design of unit magnification 2-mirror system with high resolution is presented. It is for soft X-ray(wavelength of 13 nm) projection imaging and suitable for preparation of high density semiconductor chip. In general, a holosymmetric system with unit magnification has the advantage that both coma and distortion are completely eliminated. In our holosymmetric 2-mirror system, spherical aberration is addtionally removed by using two identical paraboloidal mirror surfaces and field curvature aberration is also corrected by balancing Petzval sum and astigmatism which depends on the distance between two mirrors, so that the system is a aplanatic flat-field paraboloidal 2-mirror holosymmetric system. This 2-mirror system is small in size, and has a simple configuration with rotational symmetry about optical axis, and has also small central obscuration. Residual finite aberrations, spot diagrams, and diffraction-based MTF's are analyzed for the check of performances as soft X-ray lithography projection system. As a result, the image sizes for the resolutions of$0.25\mum$and $0.18\mum$are 4.0 mm, 2.5 mm respectively, and depths of focus for those are $2.5\mum$, $2.4\mum$respectively. This system should be useful in the fabrication of 256 Mega DRAM or 1 Giga DRAM. DRAM.
