경로생성 및 지형차폐를 고려한 통신영역 생성 방법 (Research of Communication Coverage and Terrain Masking for Path Planning)

  • Recent complex battle field demands Network Centric Warfare(NCW) ability to control various parts into a cohesive unit. In path planning filed, the NCW ability increases complexity of path planning algorithm, and it has to consider a communication coverage map as well as traditional parameters such as minimum radar exposure and survivability. In this paper, pros and cons of various propagation models are summarized, and we suggest a coverage map generation method using a Longley-Rice propagation model. Previous coverage map based on line of sight has significant discontinuities that limits selection of path planning algorithms such as Dijkstra and fast marching only. If there is method to remove discontinuities in the coverage map, optimization based path planning algorithms such as trajectory optimization and Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO) can also be used. In this paper, the Longley-Rice propagation model is used to calculate continuous RF strengths, and convert the strength data using smoothed leaky BER for the coverage map. In addition, we also suggest other types of rough coverage map generation using a lookup table method with simple inputs such as terrain type and antenna heights only. The implemented communication coverage map can be used various path planning algorithms, especially in the optimization based algorithms.

  • Enemy information has significant value when it comes to the process of military actions in battle field. Our Army now uses Battlefield Management Systems(BMSs) equipped in Ground Fighting Vehicles(GFVs) and we need to make research on what kind of role enemy information can play in such systems. Also, enemy information can be shared among GFVs and target information shall be extracted from it in view of KVMF scheme. Because KVMF becomes requisite standard in modern BMSs, we need to implement target information handling process in KVMF standard. In this article, we will focus on how target information and its sharing process can be managed efficiently without information conflicts. Also, situation map produced by it will be noted.

지형공간정보 기반의 침투위험도 예측 모델을 이용한 최적침투지역 분석 (Analysis of Infiltration Area using Prediction Model of Infiltration Risk based on Geospatial Information)

  • A simple and effective analysis method is presented for predicting the best infiltration area. Based on geospatial information, numerical estimation barometer for degree of infiltration risk has been derived. The dominant geospatial features influencing infiltration risk have been found to be area altitude, degree of surface gradient, relative direction of surface gradient to the surveillance line, degree of surface gradient repetition, regional forest information. Each feature has been numerically expressed corresponding to the degree of infiltration risk of that area. Four different detection probability maps of infiltration risk for the surveillance area are drawn on the actual map with respect to the numerically expressed five dominant factors of infiltration risks. By combining the four detection probability maps, the complete picture of thr best infiltration area has been drawn. By using the map and the analytic method the effectiveness of surveillance operation can be improved.

  • 이 연구는 복합시스템 구축과 소요제기 결정에 활용하기 위하여 복합시스템 엔지니어링과 아키텍처 방법론으로 개발한 복합시스템 개념설계 모형을 제시하고 있으며, 모형의 검증은 Process Transition Map, 전문가 설문기법으로 수행하였다. 또한 미래 전력발전에 활용할 수 있도록 종합전투실험체계에 대한 개념설계를 프로세스 단계별 산출물을 작성하여 제시하였다.

  • This paper proposes a local path planning method for stable autonomous driving in rough terrain. There are various path planning techniques such as candidate paths, star algorithm, and Rapidly-exploring Random Tree algorithms. However, such existing path planning has limitations to reflecting the stability of unmanned ground vehicles. This paper suggest a path planning algorithm that considering the stability of unmanned ground vehicles. The algorithm is based on the genetic algorithm and assumes to have probability based obstacle map and elevation map. The simulation result show that the proposed algorithm can be used for real-time local path planning in rough terrain.

  • 각종 감시체계에서 육안에 의존하여 물체를 식별해내는 것은 어렵고 실수하기 쉬우므로 군 감시체계에서 자동식별능력의 필요성은 더욱 높아지고 있다. 사회에 발표되는 모형들은 군 무기체계에 대한 데이터가 반영되지 않아 군에 바로 적용하는 것은 제한된다. 본 연구는 군용 헬기의 이미지에 합성곱 신경망을 적용하여 피아식별 모형을 구축한 연구이다. 제안하는 모형은 우리나라에서 주로 사용하고 있는 헬기인 AH-64 기종과 공산권 국가에서 주로 사용하고 있는 헬기인 Mi-17 기종의 이미지를 통해 학습시켜 구축되었다. 제안하는 모형의 성능을 살펴보면, 평가척도를 이용하여 평가한 결과 97.8%의 정확도, 97.3%의 정밀도, 98.5% 재현율과 97.9%의 F-measure의 성능을 보임을 확인하였다. 이런 분류 결과에 대해서 Feature-map을 통해 아군 헬기의 바퀴와 무장, 그리고 흡기구 주변이, 적군 헬기의 바퀴, 흡기구, 그리고 창문 부위가 피아식별 모형의 분류 기준임을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 CNN을 이용하여 군 무기체계 중 헬기의 영상정보에 대한 피아식별에 대한 분류를 처음으로 시도한 연구이며, 본 연구에서 제안하는 모형은 기존의 다른 무기체계에 대한 분류 모형보다 높은 정확도를 보인다.

환경 외란을 고려한 다중 자율잠수정의 제한적 기법 기반 주행 계획기 (An Constraint Based Approach to Planning Collision-Free Navigation of Multi-AUVs with Environmental Disturbances)

  • This paper proposes the qualitative method for planning the operation of multi-AUVs with environmental disturbances, which is considered to be a very difficult task. In this paper we use an extension collision map as a collision free motion planner. The tool was originally developed for the multiple ground vehicles with no internal/external disturbance. In order to apply the method to a water environment where there are tides and waves, and currents, we analyze the path deviation error of AUVs caused by external disturbances. And we calculate safety margin for the collision avoidance on the extension collision map. Finally, the simulation result proves that the suggested method in this paper make multi-AUVs navigate to the goal point effectively with no collision among them.

슬라이딩 윈도우 방식의 터보 복호화기의 구조 및 성능 (The Structure and Performance of Turbo decoder using Sliding-window method)

  • Turbo codes are the most exciting and potentially important development in coding theory in recent years. They were introduced in 1993 by Berrou, Glavieux and $Thitimajshima,({(1)}$ and claimed to achieve near Shannon-limit error correction performance with relatively simple component codes and large interleavers. A required Eb/N0 of 0.7㏈ was reported for BER of $10^{-5}$ and code rate of $l/2.^{(1)}$ However, to implement the turbo code system, there are various important details that are necessary to reproduce these results such as AGC gain control, optimal wordlength determination, and metric rescaling. Further, the memory required to implement MAP-based turbo decoder is relatively considerable. In this paper, we confirmed the accuracy of these claims by computer simulation considering these points, and presented a optimal wordlength for Turbo code design. First, based on the analysis and simulation of the turbo decoder, we determined an optimal wordlength of Turbo decoder. Second, we suggested the MAP decoding algorithm based on sliding-window method which reduces the system memory significantly. By computer simulation, we could demonstrate that the suggested fixed-point Turbo decoder operates well with negligible performance loss.

  • The present study investigates the effect of the flight patterns of military aircraft for takeoff and approach on noise map. Aircraft noise modeling and simulation have been made on a Korean military airport by INM(Integrated Noise Model). The flight path of a military aircraft is modeled with takeoff, overfly, approach and touch-and-go modes. The present INM simulations are conducted for various cases with change of different takeoff and approach modes. It show that the change of takeoff and approach modes can cause considerable noise effects on the noise influence region around the airport.

  • National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency(NGA) developed VPF in mid 1980 to digitalize military geospatial information. However, because VPF is very complicated system and was severly inefficient in producing, maintaining, and managing the data, VPF was required to be replaced by more efficient data format. These requests resulted in an integrated schema, and eventually VPF. The main idea of using FDB in the production of digital map of non-accessible area is to increase the accuracy. This research focuses on the production of high accuracy digital map by utilizing the FDB. The accuracy of digital map by FDB and by DGN was individually compared with 1m CIB imagery of the Korean peninsula. By analyzing 38 check points based on CIB, DGN showed RMSE of 52m X axis and 49m Y axis. FDB showed 15m in X axis and 13m in Y axis. These results show that the digital map produced using FDB has much higher accuracy than DGN based digital map.
