  • This paper is to review the conclusions of the Athens conference that has so far contributed to the conservation world. It is normally called the conclusions of the Athens conference as the Athens charter. But the conclusions of the Athens are not as same as the Athens Charter regarding the contents. The former had more valuable contents than the latter regarding historic monuments. And the report of the Athens conference including 56 articles and 500 pages with 55 photos was published in 1933 by the International Museums Office. But little attention has been given to the report of the Athens conference. Therefore the point I want to make is to review to the report in order to understand the agenda of the conference and to examine the Anastylosis in Acropolis. In conclusion, these agendas and the articles in the report show us that the conference was sort of milestone with some advanced modern philosophical and technical concepts about conservation and restoration of historic monuments. Also when the term of anastylosis turns to reconstruction in archaeological sites, we are going to face with the problems of authenticity.

  • After the first record of a Korean ciliate in 1931, more than 130 papers have been published describing Korean ciliates. Of these records, the years 1997, 2012, and 2016 include milestone publications in Korea. Even though the publications provide summarized data about Korean ciliates with relevant literature citations, these publications included two nomenclatural errors, two misspellings, and one misidentification; nine species were transferred to other genera. Furthermore, the type specimens deposited in the laboratory of Prof. Joong Ki Choi (Inha University, Korea) were transferred to the National Marine Biodiversity Institute of Korea (MABIK) because of his retirement. Here, we provide an updated list of 331 Korean species described by 2016 and present information about the type specimens. We also and address the aforementioned problems with bringing together scattered data related to ciliate lists.

  • As the development of modern technology, human works shift whose roll from physical conditions to the system monitoring tasks. In this paper, safety-presentation configuration is discussed instead of well-known fault-warning configuration. Safety-presentation configuration is verified as superior to the fault-warning configuration in hazard prevention. The estimation of system states involves the decision making environments which lack of required in formations and most of all the informations are not precise too. And the limitation of human information processing show doubtful results. So the estimation of system states is regardes as fuzzy number, and its operation produces the parameter that explain the discriminability(d), decision criterion ($\beta$) of system operator's behaviors. These two values served as performance indices. Especially the $\beta$ is a good milestone of the operator's altitude degree of caution.

  • Vacuum tubes are electron tubes in which the motion of electrons are utilized. There are many kinds of vacuum tubes, e.g. diode tubes, triode tubes, pentodes. muti-tubes and etc. Generally accommodated in glass tube, its eletrodes can be seen easily from outside and it easy to understand. In 1884 Edison discovered a current flow in the vacuum tube. He could not, however, explain this phenomenon. This is called Edison effect. In 1904 Fleming developed the backup for the practical diode theory. The most important milestone in this early history of electronics came in 1906 when De Forest put a third electrode (a grid) into the above, and thus invented the triode tube. It is 90 years since the triode was invented by De Forest (as of 1996) and 100 years (centennial also as of 1996) since the specific electric change e/mo$_0$ ≒ 1.7589 ${\times}$ 1011 (C/kg) was confirmed by the English scientist Thomson in 1896. On the occasion of the 90th and 100th anniversary of these inventions and discovery, E would like to describe the rise and 1111 of the vacuum tubes and the current status of these tubes.

  • During recent decades, the three-dimensional (3D) approach in orthognathic surgery were introduced and adopted in clinical practice, providing practical advantages to orthognathic surgeons. Even when the 3D approach is assessed based on the current state of technological development, it has advantages in orthognathic surgery and has become an essential method. It is not sure what to come next in the development of the 3D approaches, It is clear that the 3D approach represents a milestone in the development of orthognathic surgery.

  • According to the Korea Augmentation Satellite System (KASS) system milestone, Site Acceptance Test (SAT) has three steps test until the end of the project. SAT#1 is the first time of SAT steps and verify the KASS Reference Station (KRS) and Sub System (S/S) for the monitoring and controllable. After the equipment and software were installed at the Mission Control Center (MCC) with Central Monitoring and Control Simulator (CMS) for the SAT#1, the 1:1 test was progressed when the KRS and S/S are ready to test. SAT#1 has a 10 steps test case and it was progressed each KRS sites. The test was finished throughout the real-time monitoring and the data collection including the data analysis all of the 7 KRS sites. Finally SAT#1 was completed on December 2020 with successfully.

Staring as official journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society (KNS) in 1972, JKNS is a journal that is listed in the science citation index (SCI) and its impact factor has been steadily rising in recent years. The past history of JKNS was reviewed with a focus on important milestone, and the direction of future development is suggested.

  • A detailed survey, applications and challenges of video encoding-decoding systems is discussed in this paper. A novel architecture has also been set aside for future work in the same direction. The literature reviews span the years 1960 to the present, highlighting the benchmark methods proposed by notable academics in the field of video compression. The timeline used to illustrate the review is divided into three sections. Classical methods, conventional heuristic methods, and current deep learning algorithms are all used for video compression in these categories. The milestone contributions are discussed for each category. The methods are summarized in various tables, along with their benefits and drawbacks. The summary also includes some comments regarding specific approaches. Existing studies' shortcomings are thoroughly described, allowing potential researchers to plot a course for future research. Finally, a closing note is made, as well as future work in the same direction.

  • The schedule hierarchy in construction project is generally composed of three levels. The highest level is a milestone schedule and represented by Bar Chart format. The middle level is an integrated project schedule (IPS) and represented by CPM (Critical Path Method) format. The lowest level is a detail working schedule and usually represented by Bar Chart. The traditional scheduling techniques such as ADM (Arrow Diagramming Method) or PDM (Precedence Diagramming Method) cannot represent all kinds of schedule within schedule hierarchy as identical schedule format. However, the BDM (Beeline Diagramming Method) technique can represent all kinds of schedule within schedule hierarchy as identical CPM format. This paper describes the basic concept, principle, interpretation methods, and schedule computation methods of the BDM as a new networking technique that can represent all kinds of overlapping relationships between activities, and then presents an example of representing three level's schedules within schedule hierarchy by the BDM technique.

  • This article provides an overview of the state of attorney-client related privilege and confidentiality in Korea. It reviews the statutory framework, and how Korean courts have analyzed the privilege and confidentiality related to attorneys and their clients. It then examines the legislative initiatives Korea is currently debating with regard to adopting a more common law-style attorney-client privilege (ACP). If adopted, the new legislation will mark a significant milestone in providing guidance on how communications between attorney and client will be treated. Its impact in the context of international arbitration practice and law related to Korea is explored.
